Configuration :: Ldap Authenication Code Is Not Working With IIS But Works With Visual Studio Developement Webserver?

I have weird issue here, I have a method that takes a login Id and authenticates with LDAP active directory and returns the employee Id. It works great when I run the application in Visual studio 2008 ( it uses the default visual studio developement webserver). The code authenitcates the login id and returns emp Id perfectly. But the problem comes when I publish the code to the Local IIS in my developement PC.

we are planning to use ASP .NET and Oracle Database, however, I don't know what are the requirements for developement/Production machine besides .NET Framework and Visual Studio 2008 Express edition.I am confused between various providers.
Developement:

Production Server.
Win2003 Server with IIS
please correct me if I am missing any other elements required to connect to a remote DB Server or Local one. If any provider is needed how do you deploy it at production server?

i m using ajax toolkit 3.0.30930.0 for asp.net 3.5 with vs 2008. it works fine while running on the local machine but while uplaoding on the web server produce following error in the webconfig file,custom error set to off
should i do some changes in web config file before hosting it to the server. i m using script manager from ajax extension rather than toolkit script manager

I'm quite new to ASP and I can't seem to figure out how to get the application/website to work properly on my webserver. The first thing I had done was to build the solution, shortly followed by 'build website' and at last, to 'publish website'. It saved the files to C: -> Documents -> MS VS -> Projects -> My website.
There, the following files are found:
Account [folder]; App_Data [folder]; Scripts [folder]; Styles [folder]; bin [folder]; Web.config; Site.master; Default.aspx; About.aspx and PrecompiledApp.config.
I then uploaded these via FTP to my webserver and accessed the appropriate URL. Seems nothing showed up in root beside "Index of/". When I tried to access /Default.aspx, nothing but text appeared (which would be the code displayed in Default.aspx).
I've also read some tutorials regarding this matter where they instructed me to upload directly from Visual Studio to the FTP server, but I'm kind of afraid that it'll delete everything in said folder, as I don't know what the structure of said direct upload should be like.

Currently this is the location of my WebDev.WebServer.exe -> C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesMicrosoft SharedDevServer9.0WebDev.WebServer.exe
I want to change it to -> C:Program Files x86Common FilesMicrosoft SharedDevServer9.0WebDev.WebServer.exe
Notice that the new location has no parentheses (because this might be the cause of an oracle connection problem I'm having (using Oracle.DataAccess))
I'm guessing simply moving it to the new destination will cause some problems, so what will I need to do to the Visual Studio 2008 configuration?

I recently started NOT putting code in separate file. I am using vb. I am having a problem with my database connection. The live code is working just fine....but when I try to debug locally. i get this error. connection to the database from my local visual studio is not working. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. I'm having an issue that has made me loose too many hours already. My site works fine in VS2008 with SQL Express 2008. However, when I try to deploy the site following these steps:
1. Create a new site IIS 7.0
2. Copy all the files from my code folder to IIS 7.0, (I was planning to delete the code latter)
3. Browse to my Index.aspx
The error message I receive is Cannot open database "AnimalSafe" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYNetwork Service'. I've already changed the application pool to use Network Service to authenticate and have made sure that SQL is running under this account.

I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.

can Visual Studio 2008 be All-In-One tool to integrate source code continuously from team members, build, unit test?
Having used Visual Studio Team Edition 2005, unit testing each method within VS itself. I strongly believe that it is feasible to add-on tools. Example ankhsvn tool to use SVN from Visual studio [URL]
In my investigating i have come across number of tools(shown below) to use with Visual Studio 2008 professional
Development tool:- Visual Studio 2008 professional using Subversion as source control tool. Continuous Integration:- Hudson or Cruise control Build tool:- NAnt Testing:- NUnit, Selinium As Visual Studio 2008 can be used for unit testing I think NUnit is out of consideration.
In the same way i would like to have any other tools/add-ons to Visual studio to implement continuous integration, building and unit testing. This process should be automated such a way source code between team members is continuously integrated, built and unit testing is done as configured.
Objective is to use few number of tools as add-on to Visual Studio or achieve most from Visual studio itself (example unit testing). Visual Studio should be all in one tool.
I am aware that Team Foundation Server best suits my requirement, but it is out of scope due to its cost.

I am not sure if this is a problem with visual studio, but I had some class files that I deleted, but I can still call them in my code. Also I can call a .edmx i created, but I cant see it in my folder, i tried rebuilding my solution, cleaning it, rerunning it, checking source files. Its also causing a lot of my classes to have this error:Missing partial modifier on declaration of type 'MatchGaming.Models.MyProfile'; another partial declaration of this type exists I already tried adding partial and it i just get a bunch of errors everywhere else saying that a lot of my variables already contain a definition, almost like theres a duplicate class stuck in the cache or something.

I wanted to disable a button after it is clicked and at the same time fire the post back event to generate a report. My first set of code did not work because soon after the button is disabled the page won't submit/post back. here's the first set of code which was not implemented. the onclientclick calls a javascript function which has these lines

since it was not posting back,i tried the following on page_load code behind

that worked well. but I tried to copy the javascript that got generated and pasted directly on design view

its not working from client side alone after I disable the code behind attributes.add
but when I check the view source the 2 pages are the samewhy am I not able to move the code from code-behind to design view?

I can't believe the number of issues that seem to work fine on test but completely crash and burn on production.I have a situation where the code works fine in the test/development environment, but when you press a button in production, it crashes with:

Have a project that was created in Visual Studio 2008 and deployed to a 64-bit Windows 2003 server. This application references a 32-bit Interop.ActiveDs.dll. The applications were originally compiled for 'Any CPU', however, explicitly compiling as 'x86' doesn't solve the problem. The project targets the 3.5 framework.
The server is running IIS 6.0 in 64-bit mode. When we deploy the version compiled in Visual Studio 2008, the app runs perfectly fine; all pages show up. In retrospect, this is actually surprising.We migrated the application to Visual Studio 2010 (we did not change the targeted framework) and redeployed. Now we get a BadImageFormatException loading Interop.ActiveDs.dll. Which actually makes more sense than the 2008 version running.To solve the problem, we set Enable32bitAppOnWin64 to true and ran aspnet_regiis.exe -i from the 32-bit folder of the 2.0 framework (as per various instructions on the web). In IIS, web service extensions, there were two versions of ASP.NET 2.0, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. We prohibited the 64-bit version, restarted IIS, and launched the website.
What we expected: The app to run as 32-bit, load the interop, and display
What we got: "Service Unavailable"All other web pages that were previously working displayed the same message, as did the Visual Studio 2008 version.The support page here describes the problem exactly, but tells us to do exactly what we did to resolve the problem (enable 32-bit mode).We've rolled back to 64-bit mode in IIS and deployed the Visual Studio 2008 version for now, but we really need to figure out how to make this app run and load the interop (there are also 32-bit Oracle DLLs that are referenced)Two questions:Why does the Visual Studio 2008 version work at all??

I have a hosted site and just added some additional error notification to my global.asax file and works like a charm. I decided to add the same logic to our test server and it doesnt work. The server.transfer never happens and the email never gets updated. Now i know the email works on the test and production server since we have other pages that use the same SMTP server name and setup as i have in the global file. Below is my code as it is in the file now. I setup a test page to cause an error and the page displays the detailed error which we dont want. But i would like to be notified if this happens. What am i missing? I can only assume that its a IIS confige issue, since the exact same code works on a hosted site, but not at work on our test or production servers. I have a page which uploads a file from server A to server B. The user first uploads the file to server A, where it's saved into a diretory, then once the file is safely stored there, I'm transferring it to a second server, server B, using the following code:

So, in summary, the only difference I can see between the working case and the non-working case is the server that'ssending the file.
