Configuration :: Error Occurred Creating The Configuration Section Handler?
Jun 4, 2010
Excuse me this common error. I´ve found a lot of info in Google but I´ve not found my error. I´m trying to read some data from a custom section in web.config and I don´t know which is my error?
I am getting this error on a website. does that mean the server is not competible with asp.net 3.5
Configuration Error Description:An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
We have created a new cname for our subdomain website. The new website is working properly with cname. We do have .net application inside the webiste which is not working with cname. For eg,1. http://servername/_folder1/app/mypage.aspx (Accessing .net application (App) website without cname)2. http://NewDomian.xxxx/app/mypage.aspx (Accessing .net application (App) website with cname)The first case is working perfectly, but when I access the second url, I got the following error.Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately. Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.Source Error:
I have this error: The configuration section 'connectionStrings' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration on my site when loading this page [URL]. The rest of the site works [URL] Setup:The server is a hosting company - Mocha Hosting. [URL] contains a phpbb forum. This has been installed via the hosting company's web tool (Plesk). There is a root web.config, but there isn't in the /forum/ folder. The forum folder has been set by the phpbb installation wizard to be a virtual directory and application - and it appears to not have asp.net configured on it. The forum worked BEFORE uploading the root web.config file, and again if i temporarily remove the root web.config.

I have been using the aspnet_regiis to encrypt my web configs in .net 2.0. I have recently moved my application to .net 4 and the encryption runs without any issues but when I try to view the site, I get a 500.19 error "Configuration section encryption is not supported".
I have verified that my web config contains "<validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" />"
I have a website on visual studio 2008 on my local machine. When I run through the debugger I get the following error, however when I browse the same website through the IIS manager (running IIS7.5), I can browse it. What do I need to fix to run it through debugger? The website is set as an application.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and installed IIS, including support for ASP. I am running everything locally on my computer. A simple statement like <% response.write time() %> works fine, so ASP is working, However, when I try to run a page that accesses a database (at least, I am assuming that that is the root of the problem) then I get the unhelpful error message:An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator. If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error. I have no idea where to begin. the database is in the same location as it was on with my old computer, and I have adjusted permissions to the database so that everyone except Creator Owner has full permissions - for whatever reason I am not able to change Creator Owner permissions.
Put together a little ASP.NET Web Application project in VS 2010. It includes a connection string to a remote SQL server, which is stored in Web.config. Everything works fine on my workstation, but when I test it on the web server I get this error:onfiguration Error Description:An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
Why would I be getting this error message ? I have not touched this part of my application ?Error 5 Section or group name 'compilation' is already defined. I am running a 4.0 environment on my development machine (VS 2010 + .NET4) and my server (2008 SERVER + just installed .NET 40). On my dev environment, I don't get any errors, but with the same web config on the server, I get: Error 500.19 - The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration
After checking the asp.net version on the web server it seems only the version 2.0 is available and so when I browse to the site i.e. http://servername/site then I get this error below. Should I put something in the web.config file to solve this issue? It seems the error is to do with the reportviewer control I am using. NOTE that the ERROR is on line 117Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. We have a website in ASP where we are having a series of errors when creating objects. We've created a number of DLLs with .NET, marked to be compatible with COM+. We have registered them on the system using the "regasm" utility from .NET with the parameter "/codebase". So far everything is fine, the problem comes when creating an object from ASP e.g: set objFoo = CreateObject("DLL.NET_COM_Compatible) That's when the error randomly jumps
Server object ASP 0177 -2147418113 Server.CreateObject Failed 8000ffff
The error always jumps on any page where you make a "set". At first doesn't give errors but at some point it starts to happen and in order to stop it we have to restart IIS and sometimes even the machine. This has begun to occur more often after a significant increase in visits (last month about a million). We are not sure if the reason of this errors is on some configuration of IIS or the component server or in the code itself. The website is running on IIS 6 and Windows Server 2003 r2.
My system: I have installed Windows 7, VS2010 and .NET40 and ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi I'm getting the error below.

I was developing a project. It was running fine. But suddenly it shows the following error:
Quote:
An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
But in the meantime I have not change a single line of code.

I've created a custom config section for my application. For some reason Visual Studio 2010 isn't picking up and of my custom properties. I'm getting warnings similar to this for all the "add" keys: Could not find schema information for the element 'urlFilterSection'
