I have a small project which works fine on my development environment but whenever I uploaded my project, reportviewer doesn't show a thing! Not even an error message! I've uploaded the 3 dll's needed on bin folder.
I've added a web reference locally which looks up post codes. All works ok locally. Now I just want to deploy this to my web space. There is a app_WebResources folder with various files that were created when I added this. Basically what I want to know is How do I get all this to work online?
I have a domain(www.fortunebells.com) in hosting server zetnetindia.I have created wcf service and added service reference in my project.I want to host the service reference in the domain. how can i do this?

We have a virtual server hosted to the third party which we access through remote desktop. We have Sql server 2008 on Windows 2008. I created a website on my local hard drive and now we are ready to deploy. My question is what are the recommendations for publishing websites? What steps I need to take care of? Is it possible not to deploy the "code-behind" files. Incase of hacking of windows server, I do not want somebody to see my .vb files or Is it possbile that I can convert the whole thing except aspx files in to a strong dll?
How to host asp.net website on server when I am using mysql database i have turned off iis services so how can i used http in start of creation of new website i have database mysql...
Is there any way possible when my site is hosted to some how attach the process so I can debug the errors. Obviously as they are different environments what works in dev doesn't always work in.
Using Visual Studio 2010 Web Developer Express (vb.net code) with SqlDataSource to SQL Server 2008.
I am developing an email form to my users to send email to vendors with an attachment. The aspx page is quite simple -- 2 dropdownlists, a fileupload control, and a send email button. They select their store (which populates the "From" address of the email). They select the Vendor (which populates the "To" address of the email). Then they browse for the file attachment and click "send email"
I just can't get outside emails to send. I do not get any error messages in the web page. If I change the email1 and email2 in SQL Server Vendor table to an email address (mine) within the domain I get the emails. However when I change to a test hotmail, yahoo, or gmail accounts the emails never get there. I have absolutely no confidence that my programming is correct so before I go to the IT Manager again I really need to verify I am not missing something on my end. We did make a change on the exchange server to allow anonymous email from my webserver and still didn't work.
Here is my webconfig file:

Here is my code-behind:

Here is my aspx page:

I have been playing around with the programming for 2 days making 1 change at a time then testing to see if external email is sending. I'm going quite crazy at this point ...
I've put in breakpoints and debugged. Below is the output from the latest test. I have concerns about the clientDomain being "SQLSVR" which is my webserver name, our domain is "chuckanddons.com". As well as the line "Domain" that is blank " " under NetworkCredential. Also the line TargetName "SMTPSVC/exchangesvr"
How can I test an application that I am publishing to a remote provider's IIS7 hosted site, with the VS2008 development server that is built in with VS2008 on an XP Machine?
My membership/roles work perfectly up on the remote host. On ths hosted IIS7 site when I try to access a secure directory it redirects to login, and I am able to login, however when I launch (debug - F5) from VS2008, it will provide that folder/resource, no questions asked. Same build, config, etc... nothing has changed.
I am running XP, and local IIS version installed is 5.1.
My guess is what is happening is that the new format required in the web.config is configured properly for IIS7 deployment, which is why it works remotely, but when running locally through VS2008/XP it is running with an older version on IIS and does not recoginize the new tags.
Does anyone know of any requirements to get the Ajax Control Toolkit (Calendar Extension in particular) working in this OS? I have it working on my local macjine (VS 2010 Development Server) but it doesn't work when published to my Virtual Server running Windows Server 2008 R2. No errors are reported, just nothing happens when I give focus to the Calendar textbox (no Calendar appears).Anyone know of any configutrations that need to be made in Windows Server 2008 R2?Is there a 32-bit/64-bit issue with the Toolkit?
I'm trying to run a website (site2) that I've placed inside a folder (dir-site2) of another website (site1). The default file of site2 displays fine in every browser on my local computer, as in when I type http://localhost:45912/www.site1.com/dir-site2/default.aspx. But when I upload everything to my host's server and type this
http://www.site1.com/dir-site2/default.aspx I get a server "can't access" error message. I can't display any file that is inside the subdirectory, dir-site2.
I have spent hours researching a solution in the forums and newsgroups with no success. I created a simple ajax enabled website using VS2005 express. It works fine locally but when I upload it to Godaddy I get an error "the message recieved from the server could not be parsed". I can demonstrate the error message directly on my live site [URL] (the third label is in an update panel and should display the current date when the button is clicked). Here is my code:
I get a website working perfectly in VS2008 but when I publish it on IIS7 ajax doesn't work at all.I guess it is a problem in my web.config but I don't know what. Here is the web.config file :
I have been trying to make a program work with our IIS server, but it's run into a tricky problem that's been driving me nuts. When I debug the program, everything works perfectly; users are able to log in and they see the appropriate content according to the user's role. When logging in from a remote location, however, the program seems to have trouble finding the users' roles. Users can log in, but they cannot see any role-specific information, so they are stuck on the login page forever.
I tried adding a line of code to find the roles of a particular user. In debug mode, it returned the roles correctly, but when accessed through the server, it returned an empty array that caused my site to crash.
I have an app that works fine . I build up a new iis box and the settings is similar to the existing iis box. however, my application is not working anymore. althought I created similiar environment, but not working,I get access denied from the Database for some pages and other pages it hit the database. is there anything I can do to make it work.
i developed an asp.net web site and i used ModuleRewriter to rename my pages you can refer to this link [URL] and i want to add many pages programatically at run time for example i have a page named :
[URL]styles/defaultstyle/Default.aspx
and i want to display this page like this :
[URL]Default.aspx
so my code was like this :
public static void confgrewriter() { try { RewriterRuleCollection rules = RewriterConfiguration.GetConfig().Rules; RewriterRule r = new RewriterRule(); r.LookFor ="~/Dfealut.aspx" ; r.SendTo ="~/styles/defaultstyle/Default.aspx"; rules.Add(r); } catch (Exception ex) { } }
and this solution is working very good on iis at my local machine but when i did upload this website on shared host i recive error message: The resource cannot be found.
Description:
HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
I have a website that is using the ASP.Net report viewer web control which links to our Reporting Server.
We've also built a new WebServer using Server 2008 64bit. I've had some trouble getting this to work in general, but have figured it all out except for this last problem.
When I publish this website to our old WebServer that uses Server 2003 32bit, I have zero problems, the reports pull up as expected. But when I publish to the new webserver, the site works perfectly up until I try to load the Report Viewer page. I don't get any runtime errors, the only thing I get is the picture below. When I open up the IE errors, it basically says that it can't find any of the pictures, and everything is set to a null instance of the object.
I've installed BIDS 2008, the report viewer control and sp1 for it, and have asp.net 3.5, and all of the asp.net development features enabled.
my ASP.NET app works fine on my development PC, but when I deploy it on the server, the Forms Authentication won't work. The page is being redirected to the "login.aspx" page, but when I enter a valid username/password and hit the login button, it also goes to the login.aspx page (with no errors and no throw, it keeps like this forever).
I am using the default ASP.NET Membership provider, I have setup the hosting server to be exactly as my PC, so both have same settings of IIS, ASP.NET 4.0 Global Configuration (in IIS), and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
I searched for this problem in google and tried several suugestion (like removing the clear() in web.config, manually add the membership/role provider in web.config, change security in the physical folders, etc...) but with no luck.Below is my web.config (which is working fine in my development PC): [Code]....
The Security is working fine when testing on a local machine, but when it gets published to the server, it seems that It can't get any active directory information at all.
For example, on the local computer <asp:LoginName ID="LoginName1" FormatString="(Welcome {0})" CssClass="loginname" runat="server" /> returns "Welcome DOMAINusername" but when it's published, it doesn't return anything at all.
Using code i've added users to the correct roles and checked they are really in the roles, but security when published won't recognise the current user's name, so it all fails.
