Configuration :: Tried To Add To My Existing Website, A Virtaul Path To The Webapplication Und Converted To An Application?
Aug 5, 2010
i have registered a domain and in IIS 7.5 created a new Website for this domain. It works great the ASP.NET website (BlogEngine), now i wanted to add another ASP.NET webapplication to call it something like this:[URL]I tried to add to my existing website, a virtaul path to the ASP.NET webapplication und converted to an application. after calling the URL i get an exception, that i could not load an assembly of the website (mydomain) : Could not load file or assembly 'BlogEngine.Core' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I am running on Windows Server 2003. The former site was a .Net 2.0 website built using VWD 2005 as I recall. I downloaded VWD2010 and upgraded the project (from the fileset on the server). Initially I got an error stating: 'Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'.
I went into IIS, clicked properties for my application, and set the ASP.NET version to: 4.0.30319. When I restarted IIS, the project could not find any of the 'pages' (i.e., Page Not Found) for all pages. I ran: aspnet_regiis -i Essentially, the web server acts like the application doesn't even exist with the 'Page Not Found' error. I'm sure this has to be a simple issue - but I can't figure it out so far
In one of webforms user must enter the percent of tax and then I convert it to the float number and finally save it into database. here is a sample:
Dim txtMyPercent txtMyPercent=Convert.ToSingle(txtPercent.text) label.text=txtMyPercent insert into(txtmypercent)
This peice of code, works perefect while runs via Visual Studio 2010, however after publishing, numbers are converted to integer. Thus it can't be inserted into Sql server database .... Server OS: Windows 2003 x64 IIS: 6 .Net Framework: 4.0
When I press start on my VS2010/Silverlight/C# project, it opens a new instance of the included webserver and opens my browser window so I can test the application. Unfortunately something has happened and I am not sure what it was.. The browser window now opens the starting page with a local machine path (C:...page.aspx) rather than the normal webserver path through http (http://localhost:33592/page.aspx). It is a Silverlight Navigation project using c#/asp.net code behind.
I have a custom ASP.NET application that I utilize for several clients that I host. Each client has a separate domain and the application is normally a child application under the root domain [URL]. The application files are the same (aspx, ascx, style sheets, images, etc.). The only thing different is the web.config file for each client. As development of the application continues to evolve, I have to update the application for each directory and this obviously becoming tedious. I am trying to come up with a method keep the application up to date. My first though is placing the application into a single physical path and creating multiple applications pointing to that path (the problem with this method is I can't have different web.config files). I am curious as to what solution others are using in this scenario...
What I am trying to do is install an open source application to my existing asp.net website. Within my solution in VS2008, I have two "Web Sites", one for my web site and one for the application (forums).I have my web site published to the main domain, and the forums web site published to a subdomain. They both work great. The problem I am having is that I cannot get them to communicate to each other, for example they can't access each others resources. They each have a separate membership provider, but I am attempting to combine them so that if the user logs into one, they are logged into the other. The reason that I have these as two separate web sites within one project is so that the forums can be hosted at the subdomain and the site would just be the main domain. My question is, would it even be possible to accomplish what I am trying to do using separate domains, and if so what would be the best approach?
What are the options available to call another web applications hosted in the same server. Eg: i have a application App1 and App2 hosted on the same server.i just wanted to call App2 from App1 how would i do it.
The most important point is that I can not change the url on the address bar to call the page of the 2nd web application.
Whatever I have achieved so far is I have added a link to my 1st application which redirects to the 2nd application, but it is changing the url on the address bar, I want to redirect to the 2nd application from within the 1st application.
I'm looking forward to enable my ASP.NET web application to utilize the Multi core processor. In Other words, I'm trying to have Multi-core functionality in my ASP.NET application.
How do I find the windows path of an web site Application in .NET 3.5, and also the http path? I found a solution on the web but it didn't work, it seems to be slightly different for different versions of .NET.
Am currently work on web application..sometime i need to run my project files from diffrent computers. everytime i run my application in different computers i have to set up data source connection. how can i avoid it? can i run the project from anywhere without set connection to database?how to make it?
I get the error after uploading my ASP.NET solution to server:
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] wwwroot.CLASS.Website.clsIndex.SAN_PHAM_MOI_NHAT_FILL() in C:jasmine.arvixe.com ukhi89hoasacmau.comwwwrootCLASSWebsiteclsIndex.cs:66 wwwroot.index.f_BindDataToDataListMoiNhat() in C:jasmine.arvixe.com ukhi89hoasacmau.comwwwrootindex.aspx.cs:32 wwwroot.index.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:jasmine.arvixe.com ukhi89hoasacmau.comwwwrootindex.aspx.cs:23 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +99 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +50 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +627
C:jasmine.arvixe.com ukhi89hoasacmau.comwwwrootCLASSWebsiteis the path on my computer and I don' understand why website on my server point to it (I uploaded successfully)????How to update the path of ASP.NET Web Application correctly for the server??
I created an application that basically takes the values from a bunch of fields on the page and adds the data to a SQL database table when I click the 'submit' button. However, I created the file directly under the website path, and I created it while it was like that and I tested it without any user authentication going on.
Now, I'd moved it into the ~/Account/etc/... path, because I only want it to be used by authenticated users, and it loads just fine, but when I click the 'submit' button as I used too, it doesn't seem to be loading the info in the database anymore. Why would that happen? do I need to enable SQL to work with the authentication as well?
I have an application which has a website and a project. The project contains an executable file which I'm trying to run as a process from the website's Global.asax file's application_start(). When I run this application from localhost, everything runs smoothly but when I deploy the application on IIS, application_start's code is executed and I can see the process name in the taskmanager but I cannot see the window which the console application normally starts in (when i run the application on localhost) and neither is the code executed.
Here's what I'm doing:
-- copied website and project in wwwroot -- made a virtual directory of the website -- when i run the website, I see the process in taskmanager but the code is not executed.
I am new to deployment and IIS, and would really appreciate I someone could tell me what i'm missing
I'm trying create unit testing for an existing website project (not web application project). I cannot access my under test classes unless I use accessor. However, if I use accessor, I have problem to initiate an object with passing arguments. I only want to create unit tetsing for App_Code. After searching web, and I found that I'd better to create a web application project using my current existing website project. From solution explorer, add new project ->using existing website. My questions is: what impact will have for my current website to create the new project? Should I just convert my current website to web application? If do that, will it cuase problems on my website? I am new on asp.net, still learning..
Does anyone know how i can automate the process of publishing a webapplication.Normally in Visual studio i go to Build | publish and fill in the data. However i want to do this using c# , so that the process can be completely automated.I tried it using the Microsoft.Build.Engine. But i did not succeed
I am trying to upload a file Into a MapPath but I am getting a error 'C:/WebSite/userimages/' is a physical path, but a virtual path was expected. My code is:
Now i want to deploy that application without any interaction of IIS. I want to make setup of my project so that i can directly install it in client's pc. I have tried many ways of doing this. I have tried Xcopy method and even tried of adding web setup project.
I am trying to move my web application from my computer to a server by publishing as a web site. But, after publishing, the user controls defined in the designer files are no longer recognized by the code behind.
I created a web application (VS 2008 + SP1) and deployed it on my shared hosting with ASP.NET 2.0 support. I started getting errors
could not load type <page class name>
I tried resolving it but it did not work. The hosting provider told me that they have full support of .NET 2.0 framework. I tried a few inline code samples and they worked fine. Then I again deployed a small compiled website project and it also worked fine.
I dont understand. why is that when i deploy a web application project it fails and if i convert the same thing into website project it works.
I have developed a web application in vs 2008(3.5 SP1) using sql 2005 as backend ; What all softwares need to be installed to deploy this web application on client's production server?
