Dec 16, 2010I'm running IIS 6 with ASP.NET 2.0.I enabled windows authentication for a folder in a website and gave permissions to a user. When I navigate to the page, the passowrd prompt pops up as expected and when entered correctly, the page loads. The page contains a file upload control. When I try to upload a file, the password prompt keeps popping up. ultimately it ends up as a 401 error. The user account does have write permissions to the floder, so I'm not understanding why I can get to the page with the credentials, but can't upload anything to that folder.

Apr 14, 2010I'd like my application to query a csv file from a secure website. Currently I have the user login to the site, manually query the csv, and have my application load the file locally. I'd like to automate this by having the user enter his login information, authenticating him on the website, and querying the data. The application is written in C# .NET. The url of the site is: https://www2.emidas.com/default.asp.
I've tested the following code already and am able to access the file once the user has already authenticated himself and created a manual query.

Jun 18, 2010I have an ASP.NET setup website using Windows authentication. Each time I open IE and try to access the webpage I get a windows authentication screen. Once I have logged in I can see the website fine. My problem is that every time I open a new IE browser I have to re-enter my username and password. I have heard about thew double hop issue, is this what it could be. If so how many ip fix this. Any ideas how i can stop this box showing up each time? I have ticked the "remember my username/password" tick box but still no joy. I am using Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0 and .NET 4.0.

Mar 11, 2011When a user that has their IE set to save passwords hits my "Reset Password" form, the first text box set with TextMode set to "Password" is populated with the users saved password. Understandable, this is not the affect I would like as this is their "old" password. I cannot set the text of a text box with mode set to "Password" (naturally). Does someone know how to suppress or clear this value when IE is saving passwords?
