Creating 4 Website With Same Database And Admin Panel?
Jun 24, 2010I am planning to develop around 4 product catalogue websites. The functionality of all the websites would be same. however the design, images and css would be different.
All the 4 websites will use the same admin panel, forums and database(MS Access) also.
How should I create such a system.
I dont understand what kind of folder structure should I create.
I would like to create following kind of folder structure.
(Root Folder)Admin Website ----> Website 1 (subfolder)
----> Website 2 (subfolder)
----> Website 3 (subfolder)
----> Website 4 (subfolder)
Root folder will have the database and all the common files.
Unfortunately, when I tried to create such structure, Dot Net Didnt allow me to create one website inside another
what kind of system should I use for maximum reusability.
I am a small time freelancer and cannot afford to build seperate websites for each of my client.

i know actions enable access can be determine by [Authorize] attribute. but my admin has 10-20 controller and about 100 action.
i do not want to signature all of actions by [Authorize] attribute.
all controller must be required login if user did not login.

Dec 18, 2010 we are working on a portal which will have multiple websites sites loaded in same container meaning there will be a
1)Top Header showing Portals name and currently loaded app's name
2)left hand side frame having menu which will list applications which are independent of one another.Each of these application is hosted on different servers sharing same DNS name for ex .
i) [URl]
ii) [URl]
3) Righ hand frame ::this is very individual applications pages will load with there own submenu.
Now top header and left hand side menu are common across the applications while the contents in right hand frame will application specific. How can I achieve this using master page ,without requiring indivdual application to have same master page copied in there virtual directory

I am using the create user wizard under login controls. My problem is when the new user is created by Admin he is automatically logged out and logged in with new user credentials which he has just created.

Dec 20, 2010I have a IIS server in my company which runs our intranet application, We assigned one static IP to it in order to access through internet. when we to mapped our application address eg : http://ip/applicationname to one host name, after loading when i try to access any page it was again showing ip address instead of my host name. When I check with my ISP, he told me that to resolve this either you have to put your application folder in root directory(directly in Inetput/wwwroot) or you have to create sub domain, when I put all my fies to root directory it is working well, but , I found that for all other application which i put the folders inside wwroot are taking the config file from root, how can i resolve it... or just explain me how to configure subdomain in my server to solve this issue....

I have attached my Page's code plus my VB script. I have added a delete link into the GridView for preparation but all I would like is the VB script so that when the user clicks delete it deletes the user from the GridView and Databse. So, I was trying to create an admin tool that would help me in situations like these where the admin should be able to type in username and reset the password without having to know/enter answer to secret question. Aug 11, 2010I have a solution I'm working on in VS2010 Professional, using ASP.NET 4.0 with the AJAX Toolkit.This has been working fine, but when I started it up today, I got the runtime exception shown above. This exception occurs on any page with a control from the toolkit.Sometimes when I load a page, I get an exception "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, ublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." If I then reload the page (without making any changes), I then get the exception shown in the subject line.I tried dragging an AJAX Toolkit control from the toolbox onto a page, and then deleting it, and that worked - once. The next time I tried the page (or any other), I got the exception again. Dragging a control out didn't help this time.

C# - Creating Panel With Images And Linkbutton At Runtime?
Jul 14, 2010I have a Masterpage that has Treeview. You can select some nodes there. Based on the selection you get some items in the Default.aspx's Placeholder, you get a image and a linkbutton placed in a Panel. Like this :

There seems to be problem when i create the controllers at runtime, when the site does a postback, lets say if i click "Enska" in the treeview i get the results in the image above. Lets say that i then click "The Punk Panther" i get a error.
An error has occurred because a control with id 'ctl00$CPH_Main$ctl05' could not be located or a different control is assigned to the same ID after postback. If the ID is not assigned, explicitly set the ID property of controls that raise postback events to avoid this error.
Also, how would i go by making a event handler for the linkbutton at runtime, can i make one event handler that every linkbutton uses or what ? I want the folder and the linkbutton to be clickable and link to the same place, is it simpler to make the whole Panel clickable, if so, how would i get a "OnClick" event on it ?
