i cant access crysrtal report after deployment in IIS i have depolyed my website the pages where my crystal report is just blank .. how can i access crystal reports????

View 2 RepliesI have a problem deploying crystal report on Windows 2008 R2 server. I had a web app that was developed with VS 2003 and working fine with Crystal Reports on a Win 2003 Server. I recently migrated the app to .NET 2.0.Crystal references are pointing to version 10.2.3600.0 in web.config but when I try to run the report from my web app, it says "The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception.".I have installed CRRedist2005_X64.msi on the server.Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

We have quite a few reports which were developed earlier in Crystal Reports 8.5. We are now planning to use these reports in our web application developed in VS 2008 (C#).
What dlls are needed for calling 8.5 in the application and how should they be added to the application while shipping it to the client?
They are also struggling to get the code running. Would also need the code to call the report with parameters.
I have created a asp.net web site using Visual Studio 2008 and Crytal Reports. I have two small reports that work perfectly on my development machine, and I have tripple checked that I have added reference to the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine in my project. I do not have any CrystalReports dll's in my bin folder but when select my project and then click on the properties window the following refereces are there.

I have tried publishing, I have tried creating a Deployment Package etc and I continue to get the same error. Is there some deployment assembly that I am supposed to include with my install etc.
I'm having a lot of trouble with this, and all the examples that I've found online tell me different things, so II added a DataSet to my project and added my database table to it. (DataSet should be ready)I added a CrystalReport to my project and in the Details section, I right clicked and chose "Database Expert" under "Database". I expanded "Project Data" and found my DataSet...I selected my table and added it to the "Selected Tables" list.In the CrystalReport designer, I used the "Field Explorer" to add 5 of my database fields (just for testing purposes). The report added their names to the "Page Header" and the fields to the "Details" section.On some button click, I use the following code to show the report:

So the DataSet is definitely loaded with data, the CrystalReport is found (because before I was having trouble with loading into oRpt), and no exception is being thrown because the "Catch" section is never reached.I'm sure it's something dumb I'm doing, but does anyone have any suggestions? I am having one Asp.net 3.5 application with SQL Server 2005 backend. I am generating few complex crystal reports with some formula in crystal itself and complex paging and grouping constraints. Now we are planning to atomize this process. We have 10 reports on the screen so:
--user will click on each report
--report get open in Crystal Report Viewer
--User will generate PDF from crystal report.
Now, we are thinking to atomize this, rather than giving link to crystal, we want to generate PDF directly when that page opens rather than making above three steps. Is it possible to open Crystal report in memory, save it as PDF and close it? Well, we have data so you might think that why don't we directly generate PDF from data with the tools like iTextSharp or other but in that case what about the grouping, paging, formula which crystal handle itself?

without changing the position of the Field 2 in the report design... i need this cause the data in Field 1 is different for each user and i need the Field 2 to have a smaller font size than the Field 2 so i cant use formula since formula only allow 1 font size.
I have a simple crystal report created on VS 2008 .net 3.5 sp1. The report works when I run it from the local host connecting directly to the live hosted database. When I copy the files to the host server it connects with out error but at the point where the report viewer frame would appear I get a blank page and Done displayed on the browser status bar.
The host server has Crw server installed on it and other websites on the same server are working OK.
I have already generated crystal reports but i've made them static. but now i want to make the user to select the criteria for generating the reports. for eg., in one of them i want to show monthwise data so user should be able to select the month and year and that would be passed as parameter and compared to the existing data. provide me with proper exact code that can be used for giving parameters in such a report using C#.

I just ported the website to my local computer, and build the site using VS 2008, that comes with Crystal R. Basic.I haven't tested all the functionality of the site, so I'm not sure since all the pages that use C. Reports work ok.My main concern is about publishing the site I compiled to the server. Will things work, if I have Crystal R. Basic and the server has Crystal R. for .net 2.0.

I can't run a MSI to deploy the CR runfiles.I can't find anywhere in the CR user manual of how to deploy the runtime files without running the msi, and I'm not even sure it's possible.Have anyone deployed CR 2008 without running the MSI and without having to register any files?

As a result of that, the string in that field is being truncated on the report. How can I increase the string length to 1000? (I already checked the "Can grow" option).

Is there a way to create master page header and footer and used it in multiple reports?
