Mar 24, 2011
I'm working on a vb.net windows project using crystal reports for report generating.I'm using stored procedures as well.Stored procedures are used by crystal reports. When I run report with some parameters it gives error, like this " Unknown Query Engine Error ".I have checked the Stored Procedure and there is no problem with the SP, no extra parameters.

I have a project using Crystal Reports 2008, whenever I try to print the report, using the print button on the menu I get an error on one of my machines, the Crystal Print Dialog opens, completely empty and then I get a error from windows:
Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher.
Name: PrintControl.cab
Publisher: Unknown Publisher
This is only happening on my Windows 7 machine. The solution on my Windows XP machine works fine, even if I hit the site under XP from my 7 machine, so I'm assuming something didn't install properly on 7. Any ideas? The 7 machine print dialog comes up blank, just says Print on the title and then the error comes up. The XP machine Print dialog says Print in the title and says Crystal Reports Print Control before the print options come up.

I am trying to allow users to grab their stored procs and call certain ones from within code. I can get the stored procedures and then fill a dropdown with them, but what I cannot find at this point is how to get the parameters that each stored procedure needs. I would like, once an SP is chosen from the dropdown to make a call to the db with that sp name and grab its paramter list so I can report what needs to be sent in to the user.

I have created a asp.net web site using Visual Studio 2008 and Crytal Reports. I have two small reports that work perfectly on my development machine, and I have tripple checked that I have added reference to the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine in my project. I do not have any CrystalReports dll's in my bin folder but when select my project and then click on the properties window the following refereces are there.
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, CrystalDecisions.EnterpriseFrameWork, CrystalDecisions.Enterprice.InfoStore, CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc, CrystalDecisions.ReportSource, CrystalDecisions.Shared, CrystalDecisions.Web
I have tried publishing, I have tried creating a Deployment Package etc and I continue to get the same error. Is there some deployment assembly that I am supposed to include with my install etc.

I create an ASP.NET Crystal Report Web application using VS.NET 2010. In ASP.NET page, I stored two values in Session state and need to pass them as input parameters to Oracle stored procedure. In Crystal reports 2010 once you connect to a stored-procedure as data source, it automatically creates the parameter fields with Crytal Report Viewer. how I pass values to store procedure at runtime automatically.
Detail code:
1. ASP.NET page store the values in the Session:
Sesion.Item("CourseNumber")
Sesion.Item("StudentNumber")
2. I like to pass above values to the store procedure with IN parameters named P_CourseNo and P_StudentNo to print out the Crytal Report with Store Procedure as data source.

a myth has been passed to me by a senior who told me to 'always' design a crystal report using Add command and not through the table view (like selecting tables and linking them manually).I have been having a hard time writing the queries for master detail reports and making sub report links manually. It gets pretty confusing sometimes.I find it easy to design reports by just selecting two tables and dragging and dropping the link in crystal report designer.

I'm getting the "Load Report Failed" Error.
I have a web application designed using VS2008 & Crystal Reports for VS2008 (Ver. 10.5.3700). I'm using Framework 2.0 for deployment.
My development system is WinXp and my deployment system is Win2003 Server.
Here is what i have done -
1) Added a Crystal Report to my project "rptReport.rpt"
2) Added a Crystal Report Source (crSource) to my .aspx page.
3) Added Crystal Report Viewer to my page, with crSource as its Report Source.
This works fine when i run it on my development machine. But Gives a "Load Report Failed" error on my deployment machine.
This is what i have already tried doing on deployment server:
1) Giving IIS_WPG full control to temp folder.
2) Publishing with "Allow this precompiled site to be updatable." checked/unchecked.

We have migrate from VS2005 to VS2010. CR2010 installed too.
We have 1 website and class project in one solution.
The assembly of web.config has point to new version of CR ver13 and also checked that the references is ver13 too.
WEB CONFIG:
[code]....
However in code behind, when "Go To Definition" the imported CrystalDesicions Namespace, it go to CR version10 location.
The class project has references to correct ver13.
In the end we get error of :
Error 17 The project currently contains references to more than one version of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, a direct reference to version 10.2.3600.0 and an indirect reference (through 'Web_cl.clsAccountRpt.GetAccountStatementSummaryRptDoc')
to version 13.0.2000.0. Change the direct reference to use version 13.0.2000.0 (or higher) of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine. D:ProjectWebGlobal 4.0Web_developCpAdminReportFormAccountReportModule.aspx.vb 40 28 D:...Web_develop
The function in class has return ReportObject back to the website, because of the website reference did not really point to new version has causes this error. I have checked all references in web.config and project properties all is point to new version, but in program it seems still point to old one.
