Lets assume i have four columns
Sr Company Date Billing amount
1 Imtiaz Super Market 11/12/1991 2000
2 Naheed mart 11/12/1991 4000
3 Imtiaz Super Market 11/12/1991 3000
Now it must group by the company name and show running total and net total like :
Sr Company Date Billing amount
1 Imtiaz Super Market 11/12/1991 2000
2 Imtiaz Super Market 11/12/1991 3000 5000
3 Naheed mart 11/12/1991 4000
4 Naheed mart 11/12/1991 5000 9000 14000
NOTE : it must support paging and must be binded with data table

how to get the total row counts in a Gridview control with default paging enabled? My gridview control is bind to an ObjectDataSource control.
The problem I am having right now is that when I loop through the gridview control, it only contains the total row for the current page being displayed on the screen and not

The date functions in sql is pretty complex to me. I want to get the sum of Grand Total for the current month. OrderDate is a DateTme Column.

I am trying to figure out why it won't display the other results when I click on the second and third links created by enabling the paging option the gridview control. it wasn't displaying properly.. also it may not make a lot of sense.. I'm a PHP programmer... I'm learning asp.net as part of a class and we're instructed to use the drag-and-drop method so forgive me, my asp.net skills are lacking and I am having a hard time learning it. Without paging function, i can loop through the gridview by using
var sum = 0;
var gridViewCtlId = '<%=timesheetView.ClientID%>';
var grid = document.getElementById(gridViewCtlId);
var gridLength = grid.rows.length;
so with gridLength i can loop through the gridview to sum all rows. However, when I use paging event of gridview, i use the page size to loop through all rows, but it occurs errors because the last page may not have enough rows.

I want to use a gridview with sorting and paging to display data from an SQL server, the query uses 3 joins and the full text search containstable. The from part of the query uses all 3 tables in the join.What is the best way to do this? I can think of a stored procedure, SQL directly in the SQLDataSource and creating a view in the database.I want good performance and would like to leverage the automatic sorting and paging features of the gridview as much as possible.
Edit:About size, I suspect very few records, total about 1000 and a query would typical result in no more than 100 records and most times much less.
