how to download selected files from grid view. Initial I will display list of files with file paths in grid view along with check boxes. when user select some files, I should be able to download selected files in a zip file.

A checkbox field has been added, when the user selects one or more rows, a submit button (which is not working) needs to inserting those records into a table. I have to select checkboxes besed on group column values. If you see below gridview, column 3 (GroupN) has 1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2....etc (this column data is not static, will change based on page index. i.e PageIndex =2 may starts with 7,7,7,8,8,8,8,8,9,9,9 etc).
Now My question is.
1). If user selected '1', we have to store value and user must and should select another '1' (atleast two times).
2) If user selected '1', and user trying select '2'. Giving error says "Must have select one then one record in group to combine' (will not allow) and unselect '2'.
3) If user selected '1' atleast two times, and user trying select '2'. Will allow.
4) If user selected '1' atleast two times and selected '2' one time, trying to select '3'. will not allow user to select '3'.
i store a file name in column like(1.dat).when i try to download this actually from the folder which is in solution exploer ... but i dont understnd how to download it through its name ...i use some code

I have 3 gridviews on a page in a parent child relationship. i.e, when Grid1 is selected, any child rows will be shown in grid2. When a row is selected on grid 2 , any child rows will be shown in grid 3.
I have a single formview used for editing and inserting tied to all the 3 gridviews as they are of the same table structure.
The issue is whenever an insert or update happens on the formview, all the selection is lost. How do I retain the selection on the appropriate gridviews and also refresh only the gridview which caused the change?
For eg) when I select a row in grid 1, the child row shows up in Grid 2 . When I selected the row in Grid 2 for edit, the data appears in the formview. After I update the data in formview, when the page gets refreshed, the row in Grid2 does not remain selected. How do I retain the selection?

I have gridview that contains a check box, messageId and firstName. The gridview is getting information from the database and showing them in the gridview and in a checkbox. The gridview shows the fields that are selected and that are not selected. I want to send an email to all people that the check box is selected.
I have already created the email system and it is working. What I don't to know is how to get the information from the gridview and place in the mail.To.Add(?); so I can send the information to all people into the database.

I found an example (untried) that is designed to loop through and insert the necessary records; but it does not address inserting records based on selecting rows via a checkbox.
