Forms Data Controls :: Multiple Checkbox Columns In Gridview Needs Validation?

I have a GridView which is databound and I added two columns which are checkboxes. There is no link between the two columns. On a check box click , I need to check to see any other check boxes on the same column checked, if so, show a javascript confirmation . If click ok, need to do postback to update the database.if cancel, no change. The goal is ,I need to make sure that only one check box is checked in a check box column.
I want select only one checkbox among 5 checkboxes if user selects one checkbox another which are checked are need to uncheck. How can i do this in client side .....
Is it possible to first add controls (ie. CheckBoxes) to a GridView with AutoGenerateColumns set to true. Then to click a single save button which loops thru the controls in the GridView, gets their values (ie. Checked/Not Checked) and then saves those values to a database?
I've created a data bound gridview to a SQL database. I am retrieving the data with a simple select for a specific date, and then populating my gridview. The one caveat is that I have added a second header row to my gridview, and then I am hiding parts of another row that was retrieved to only populate the main header row. I believe that this is causing my issue. However, when I step through the code it appears that my ids are proper (the first row has an id of 0, etc....). However, when I check the checkbox in row 4, the actual data from row 3 is being pulled out of the gridview.
I want to validate a GridView row only if the checkbox is selected.

Im not binding the database to the gridview via design view I'm binding it programatically in the default.aspx.cs file
So far the only tutorials I've encountered are ones the have the database bound through design view and gridviews with only one column that can be added. In my particular example I have multiple columns that need to be added and I have already bound the data to the gridview.
I have a gridview that is being populated by an oracle DB. The gridview have 2 columns now one shows years and the other is a checkbox column. What is happening is my years column is very long and I wanted to know if I could split the column in half. I want say from 1970-1990 in the first column. The second column will have the checkboxes for the first. I want the third column to have 1991-present day and the fourth column to have the checkboxes for the third column. Can the grid view do this or is this something I have to do in oracle and have the gridview just display it?
I have gridview that contains a check box, messageId and firstName. The gridview is getting information from the database and showing them in the gridview and in a checkbox. The page count is set to 10, when the user checks the checkbox(es), I will need to insert those records in a table. How will I know which row was selected? I found an example (untried) that is designed to loop through and insert the necessary records; but it does not address inserting records based on selecting rows via a checkbox. How do I put everything together.

There are several answers to the question of how to implement the use of JQuery UI datepicker with multiple text boxes on the same page but none of these post seem to address the issue where you have multiple text boxes within multiple ASP.NET gridviews on the same page.
