Data Controls :: Error When Creating XSD Using Create Dataset Wizard
Jun 23, 2012
when i add a dataset & using wizard trying to set the database using sql authentication.i get error login failed for user sa but if i use windows authentication i get connected.i checked the sql server it has mixed authenticationĀ but still i am not able to create the xsd & supposeĀ i copy the the dataset mad eon other system to this system i am bale to aceess the data in the application but not able to configure or preview data.how do i rectify .
Codebehind: creating dataset, getting data from sql with adaptor and filling into dataset object, then setting detailsview's datasource. I add 2 button to above template to able to edit data at asp page, and added event handlers:buttons:
[Code]....
My question is, what to do inside the detailsview update event function to able to edit and update data. My method can be wrong too.
Im very new to ASP.net and have no experience with it at all.Im currently developing a website, and am confused about creating users.Im using the create user wizard, everything is working fine. However,I am worried about the security of user information.I believe the user information is stored in the APP_Data folder, am I right in believing that this folder is secure?
Exactly how is the user information stored when using the create a user wizard? In a database in the APP_Data folder? Is it encrypted automatically when a user signs up?
I am creating dynamic wizard steps in the Page_PreInit method , if i go ahead and refresh the form i get an error as follows :
Error : ActiveViewIndex is being set to '3'. It must be smaller than the current number of View controls '1'. For dynamically added views, make sure they are added before or in Page_PreInit event. Parameter name: value
this is my code to add the wizard control which exists in my Page_PreInit() method
I'm new to creating reports. I created a report rdlc, and created three report parameters and placed in data region. See the code below
[Code]....
When I build this..I got the error saying "The table 'table1' is in the report body but the report has no data set. Data regions are not allowed in reports without datasets. "
I need to create rdlc without dataset and to bind dataset at runtime.
I've built a new sharepoint site page using the example I found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2010/06/28/creating-a-sharepoint-site-page-with-code-behind-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx.The purpose of the page is to add a new user to the aspnet membership database that serves as the authentication provider for my sharepoint site, which uses forms based authentication.I've slightly customized the asp createuser control. The sharepoint site is forms based but the top level site is accessible anonymously, and I've created a subsite for members (hence the user registration page). The site page is in the top level site so that people can register. If I'm already logged in and fill out the form, the user is successfully added to the membership store, however if I access the page anonymously and fill out the form, the user is successfully added to the membership database, but I can no longer navigate the website,I keep getting http 500 page cannot be displayed errors until I clear the browser cache and cookies.
I'm creating a form that sends a data set into an XY scatter plot. I have a report and reportviewer set up correctly, however my chart will not adjust the vertical position of the data points! They're tied to the table below (and have data labels), however when they get plotted they're always right on the x-axis.
I have create user wizard control on my page as below with mail definition setup to send a welcome email to new registerd user.
<asp:CreateUserWizard ID="CreateUserWizard1" runat="server" requiresQuestionAndAnswer= "false" oncreateduser="CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser" LoginCreatedUser="False"> <MailDefinition BodyFileName="~/EmailTemplates/CreateUserWizard.txt" From="myemailaddress" Subject="New User"> </MailDefinition> <WizardSteps> <asp:CreateUserWizardStep ID="CreateUserWizardStep1" runat="server" > <ContentTemplate> layout content here </ ContentTemplate> </WizardSteps > </asp:CreateUserWizard > Problem is I am not receiving the welcome email. To test it, I placed another create user wizard on another page in its default form as below <asp:CreateUserWizard ID="CreateUserWizard1" runat="server"> <MailDefinition BodyFileName="~/EmailTemplates/CreateUserWizard.txt" From="myemailaddress" Subject="New User"> </MailDefinition> <WizardSteps> <asp:CreateUserWizardStep runat="server" /> <asp:CompleteWizardStep runat="server" /> </WizardSteps> </asp:CreateUserWizard>
This one worked and I got welcome email. The setup in Web Config is correct. Is it because I have the oncreateduser="CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser" or some other conflict issue.
I have created the tables and the stored procedures in SQL 2008.
In VS 2008, I created DataSet1.xsd in App_Code and created the connectionString in web.config file.
Then when I go into the DataSet1.xsd and try to add a TableAdapter, strange things happened.
First I chose the data connection, then selected "Use existing stored procedure", then there was nothing listed in the dropdownlists (in Select, Insert, Update, or Delete).
I'm sure the connectionString is correct because if I choose "Use SQL statement" and type in a "select * from mytable1", the TableAdapter can be created without any problem.
I would be more than happy if someone with creating a dataset programmatically then connect it to my reportviewer programmatically. If you have vb.net examples
Cannot create the clustered index 'RateViewIndex' on view 'NoteToPass.dbo.RateView' because the select list of the view contains an expression on result of aggregate function or grouping column. Consider removing expression on result of aggregate function or grouping column from select list.
i am using create user wizard and capturing other information within content template when a new userregisters. Some of the textboxes are binded to required field validators.there is a validation control on the page and ShowMessage box is True.If they dont complete some of the text boxes then the message box pops Up with the error message. It does not however include information errors like "User already exists" or Email address already existsfrom the create user wizard membership UserName and Password Textboxesis it possilbe to hook all of these up so I get one message box with all errors including membership ones?
I have a dataset with 3 tables that are inner joined. Thsi dataset is connected to an object datasource which is connected to a gridview. So at runtime it displays data from the database. The problem is when I click on a save button to add information to the database it throughs me an error saying Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints. But if i have two tables in my dataset it works 100%. But the problem i need that 3 tables in order to pull the required information. And if i populate the gridview using code to select the information from the database and insert information it also works 100%.
I would like to know how i can see my programmatically declared dataset to be visible in the wizard (wizard of windows report....)dim datasett as dataset
I have a DataSet that I have added to my project where I can Insert and Add records using the Add Query function in Visual Studio 2010, however I want to add transactions to this, I have found a few examples but cannot seem to find one that works with these.
I know I need to use the SQLClient.SQLTransaction Class somehow. I used the Add New Data Source Wizard and added the Tables/View/Functions I need, I just need an example using this process such as How to get the DataConnection my DataSet has used. Assuming all options have been set in the wizard and I am only using the pre-defined adapters and options asked for in this wizard, how to I add the Transaction logic to my Database.
For example I have a DataSet called ProductDataSet with the XSD created for this, I have then added my Stock table as a Datasource and Added an AddStock method with a wizard, this also if a new item calls an AddItem method, if either of these fails I want to rollback the AddItem and AddStock in this case.
I have a grid that displays all the years sales cost and billing margin (1-(cost/sales)) but it seems on some years there is a cost but no sale and it is giving me a cannot divide by 0 error on running. how can i make it where if it cannot give the BM then it will say N/A or something instead of erroring out?
I used the wizard and went through the steps to set it up and clicked DONE and closed the ASP.NET configuration window/wizard and the database was not created. What might be wrong here?
I have a need to create a custom wizard, without using the wizard control. What I am attempting to create is something similar to this post:
[URL]
The only problem is that I need to attach CSS to the previous steps that is different from the next step, and different from the current step. So I created a <UL> for the menu, but how to dynamically attach css to the different <ul> elements and assign 3 classes: previous, current & next based on the step the user is on?
I have created the page after watching this video [URL] , but my problem is at the end after sending the email I get a blank screen. So, after I click the Finish button and how do I put in a message like "Thank you for submitting you question" ?
i am creating a total column which multiplies the price by quantity in my gridview but am stuck on converting the input strings.
The price is stored as a decimal in my database and the quantity is a nvarchar.
i am receiving this error:
Input string was not in a correct format.
Description:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.
Real simple one here. I'd like to create a table on my Page from a DataSet. It looks like I have it working properly, but what I'd like to do is interpret the columns, as well as be selective with which column to display.
[Code]....
I would like specific columns, by name or position doesnt matter. So if a column is = named column, then addcell and also, the data needs to be interpreted: If value of column = x then response.write("y") In sum, I dont want all the columns, just specific ones, then I was to interpret whats in that cell, and write something.
