Mar 21, 2011 When i export the data table to excel 2003 i get the output in a very fast manner and when i want to use the same in excel 2007 debugging gets stopped and nothing happens.... It does not show any errror on it to. When i slowly debugged i find that in saveas() it takes longer time and it seems like execution gets stopped in this process.
Its like in new window it shows loading for more than 10 min and after some time the particular window gets closed and nothing happens can anyone tell me what can be wrong.When the same code works great when i export to 2003.

I have a dropdownlist inside row which selected when i click link button Select in the gridview edit template, as of my business logic i need to show the dropdownlist only when the user clicks Edit button and when the user clicks Select button . That mean when the user clicks Select button then they clicks Edit button on the gridvview i should allow him to edit the dropdownlist (showing the value to the user through a label).

Aug 9, 2010We have an ASP.net application but some screens are deemed too slow to use by our users.As a result, we are trying to provide a WinForms-based alternative to those data-input centric screens so we can use richer controls like Grids with immediate screen updates and feedback for the user.
Ideally, I would like the users to login to the WinForms application using the same credentials they use in the ASP.net application?
Is it possible?I've found this post ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1172069/net-authentication-for-both-web-and-winforms ) but it isn't really answering the question from my point of view... We are not using WebServices, or WCF at the moment and do not plan to use it unless it is really the only way to achieve this.

Is it best practive to return a data reader or a dataset/datatable (or something even better than these two)?

Apr 9, 2010I'm returning one table. My understanding is that a DataSet can be made of more than one DataTable. I also understand that I can use either of these to return my one table.
Is it better to use the DataTable when I have one table to return instead of a DataSet? Is there any advantage of not using the DataSet in a situation like this? Is there a disadvantage to using the DataSet when only one table is being returned? Does this even matter?
