I have read your article from aspsnippets.com about custom paging it really work, but there are a problem that if there are more record in database (2000 to 5000) than number of page index will be goes in large number. like 1 to 200, any way which can divide it like 12345678910...2000.

Am Saving the file in Excel format which contains Chinese letters using C#.NET.
The excel file saved successfully. But the Chinese words are messed up in excel file.
Code Used to Save is :-
Response.Clear();
Response.Buffer = true;
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" Test.xls");
[Code].....
It shows the exact output in website (脚宽 ). But after saving the file the excel file shows like this (脚宽) .
Ex: 脚宽 ----> 脚宽

I have a repeater control which has an table format that has textboxes in it. I tried the solution at [URL] which works but loses the table format. I have an example below in which I have modified that code and have it so now the table format stays but the values show outside the table and not in the correct columns and rows.
I need to keep the values in the proper location.
<asp:Repeater ID="rptMonthlyReport" runat="server" OnItemDataBound="rptMonthlyReport_ItemDataBound">
<HeaderTemplate>
<header>
<asp:Label ID="lblOne" runat="server">Monthly Performance Report</asp:Label>
</header>
<table id="tblMonthlyReport" border="1">

I have a repeater control that is getting exported to excel. Well excel will no longer show the data that was in the textboxes. I've read the article on exporting a gridview having the same problem and how you replace the texboxes with literal contrls. I was wondering if there is an article like it only for a repeater control.

I am trying to figure out why it won't display the other results when I click on the second and third links created by enabling the paging option the gridview control. it wasn't displaying properly.. also it may not make a lot of sense.. I'm a PHP programmer... I'm learning asp.net as part of a class and we're instructed to use the drag-and-drop method so forgive me, my asp.net skills are lacking and I am having a hard time learning it. Anyway I'm reposting the current code.. hopefully it will display properly this time. Here's the code for default2.aspx..

I have a web app where everytime I upload an Excel file, its contents appears in Gridview, which is binded with a DataTable. Using the properties, I have set paging and sorting to true.
When I input a file using fileupload and a submit button, the web app has page numbers at the bottom appear.
It also correctly sorts it, (my page size is set to 10), however, when i click on the next page (pg 2, for instance), nothing shows up until i upload the file and hit submit again.
This is the code in which I build the table:
protected void AddResultToGrid(String url, String result)
{
data = (DataTable)Session["URLSessionData"];
DataRow dr = data.NewRow();
dr[0] = url;
dr[1] = result;
data.Rows.Add(dr);
gdvResults.DataSource = data;
gdvResults.DataBind();
Session["URLSessionData"] = data;
}

I need to export a gridview to excel and am having trouble with the layout. I found a number of good articles that explain the basic mechanics of the export. One simple approach that works is:
Response.Clear()
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=FileName.xls")
Response.Charset = ""
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.xls"
Dim stringWrite As New System.IO.StringWriter()
Dim htmlWrite As System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter = New HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite)
grdExcelExport.RenderControl(htmlWrite)
Response.Write(stringWrite.ToString())
Response.[End]()
My issue is that the gridview that appears on the screen with all of its added rows, hidden columns, and such does not show properly in Excel - the hidden columns from the header now show; there are missing data rows and so forth.
The RowDataBound event adds rows in the Header - these do not make it into Excel. The sql code does a GROUP BY WITH ROLLUP and the last total rows do not show in Excel, although the intermediate ones do. After my first DataBind of the table, I append 5 rows of special summary information which the RowDataBound processes correctly, but none of this goes to Excel.
So my wonderful Gridview on the screen becomes worthless in the transfer. How do I get my highly custom-formatted gridview into Excel??

I have a page that has a gridview that stores the value of search parameteres in my page.
the search parameters are inserted in a table after the results are exported to excel(done through a seperate button).
Now the problem is once i hit the export to excel button, the gridview is not getting updated. I made sure that the entry is being made in database, but it in is not showing in grid immediately. The grid view is in updatepanel.
