I am using radiobuttonlist and textbox in the gridview. I need to do operations on radiobuttonlist so that it should reflect on textbox . this is to be done after gridview_rowediting event fires i.e when we can see "update" and "cancel" buttons. I tried like this,
[code]...
here default selected value is "0" given in source.
My problem here is when I am changing the selecteditem, the corresponding action is not done.
I am unable to find any control in row editing event of gridview that i have put in edit template. I have to populate the dropdown control so that in editing the user can select value from the control.
How ever i can access the controls in row updating .But i need it in row editing event.
I've got a gridview that returns student order history which works just fine. It pulls the StudentId from a hidden field on page load. I have a link button that ADDS AN ORDER when clicked. It calls a stored procedure, inserts the record, then rebinds the gridview and displays the new record at the top of the list.
Problem is when I go to EDIT it, i get this error... "The GridView 'GridViewOrderHistory' fired event RowEditing which wasn't handled." But the interesting thing is the error doesn't occur if I close the browser and reload the page and then click on that new record that was created. Obviously I'm missing something in my code when the new order is created. Here are the 2 subs involved in the process.
I am populating the gridview on the basis of listbox selection . However, I am setting the datasource in the click event after listbox entry. When i am trying to update any record in the gridview this error gets thrown because the datasourceid from the aspx page has been removed. Code for reference -
protected void btn_save_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); foreach (object o in ListBox2.Items) { list.Add(o); } string str2 = null, str, host; string str1 = "SELECT SYSTEMNAME, DATETIME, PDOWNTIME, UDOWNTIME, SYSDOWNMINS, REASON FROM PLANNED_DOWNTIME where "; host = Convert.ToString(list[0]); str2 = " ( SYSTEMNAME like '" + host + "'"; for (int i = 1; i < list.Count; i++) { host = Convert.ToString(list[i]); str2 = str2 + " or SYSTEMNAME LIKE'" + host + "'"; } str = str1 + str2 + " )"; string connectstring = "Data Source=SRCPA035\ovops;Initial Catalog=reporter;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=sa;Password=ril123"; DataTable dt = new DataTable(); SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectstring); try { connection.Open(); SqlCommand sqlCmd = new SqlCommand(str, connection); SqlDataAdapter sqlDa = new SqlDataAdapter(sqlCmd); sqlDa.Fill(dt); if (dt.Rows.Count > 0) { GridView1.DataSource = dt; GridView1.DataBind(); } GridView1.DataSource = SqlDataSource1; } catch (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException ex) { string msg = "Fetch Error:"; msg += ex.Message; throw new Exception(msg); } finally { connection.Close(); } }
But each time I do this, the ViewData object seems to disappear (intellisense doesn't show it). Also, Model goes away too. I must be making a really simple/dumb mistake. I also tried to Import the namespace containing the CompanyModel class on the same aspx, but that doesn't do anything.
When I try to view the page in the browser I get this error:
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<CompanyModel>'.
I have a user control that is common to the application. It searchs for lakhs of Items in one go from the db and I set the selected Items in a list in a session to pass on to the pages that use it. Hence making the application a tad slower. The gridview that contains the Items should have sorting, page indexing. What according to u,I should do to enhance the application's performance ?
I have a GridView in MultiView and everything works fine. When page load everything looks good,but then when i try to edit something in my gridview it does postback and the whole gridview disappear from the multiview.
I have a gridview in which i have declared one static templatefield (with some button ctrls inside) in design itself.
I add the remaining columns to it as a dynamic templatefield by inheriting the ITemplate interface.
My problem is that now when i cause some postback for the firsttime after the Gridview is bounded, it works fine. But when i cause some postback for the second time, all the controls in the static templatefield disappears.
I have a checkbox column in a Gridview that is added in the aspx and the other columns are added in the code behind. The checkbox is a choice to print the record or not. When the print button is pushed the page posts back and the checkboxes are gone.
I have read that you have to re-add the checkboxes on postback, but where do you do that and how do you retain the viewstate values - checked/not checked? I have tried everywhere - PreInit, PreLoad, PreRender... I can't get the viewstate values to appear anywhere. The checkboxes can be added just about anywhere but the vaules are set to "unchecked" by default... no values ever come back no matter where I re-add them.
I already implemented the dynamic templatefield which will re-created in every postback. Everytime I make a postback in the page I see no problem but when I click my imagebutton inside the gridview then the dynamic templatefield disappear.
To double check if it is really gone at all I just select the second page of the gridview using my customize paging using dropdownlist outside the gridview and the templatefield with its correct data reappear again.
I already put a variable inside the rowcommand to see if the number of columns are the same with the number of columns the gridview render together with the dynamic templatefield during debugging and it is there but cannot render that templatefield in the client.
I am trying to put the select command in code behind:
sdsAdd.SelectCommand = String.Format("SELECT Classes.ClassId, Committed, CallNumber, SubjectArea, CourseNumber, SectionNumber, GradingBasis, NumberOfUnits, NetId FROM Classes INNER JOIN EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses ON EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses.ClassId=Classes.ClassId WHERE AllFormsId='4' AND SectionId='1' AND NetId=@NetId AND Committed='True' AND EnrollmentAdjustmentClasses.FormId={0}", Request.QueryString["FormId"].ToInteger32()); gvAdd.DataBind();
When I do that, then click edit to edit the selected item, the item disappears from my gvadd. What am I doing wrong?
I have masterpage which includes dropdown list for choosing skins for page.
Also I have Home.aspx include above master page. This Home.aspx contains update panel[up1] which further comprises of gridview, link button, image button[IB] and dropdown list. Also there is one modal popup that has a panel which includes dropdown and text box.
Requirement: when i click image button[IB], modal popup opens up and home.aspx gets grayed up.
Issue: when i click image button[IB], modal popup opens up, but all dropdowns placed in[Home.aspx and Master page] get disappeared[invisible]. Once i close modal popup , they are visible.
I have a GridView attached to an ObjectDataSource (returning a DataTable) in a UserControl. The code is really simple. Data comes down fine when the page is first rendered. When I click on Select or Delete (inside TemplateFields), RowCommand is supposed to fire but it doesn't, the page goes straight to Page_Load. I literally have 0 other event handlers that are set on this control and everything else in the codebehind shouldn't even fire if it's a postback. Also on postback, the Select and Delete buttons disappear. It looks like the TemplateFields are still there but they're empty. The data fields (all of two columns) post back fine.
I have a Gridview with edit/delete button & in row data one field is a month value.
I want the edit/delete button in that row to disappear if the month in the row is past month.
How could I do this ? I have set the label1.text = current month but I do not know how to set the edit/delete button to be visible/invisible on the condition of the data in the row.
VWD 2008 Express. Visual Basic.I have a gridview each row of which contains two textbox controls with an associated validator control (comparevalidators). When I load the page, it takes forever and I give up and stop debugging. The gridview would be populated with about 224 records if it ever came up. If I go into the gridview and disable the validators and make them invisible, then the page loads quickly. Why would these validators make the page hang up?
Also, when the page does hang up loading, I go into the VWD 2008 debugger and see dozens of temporary "anonymous code" modules have been created that contain code like:
I have a dropdownlist outside the gridview control. My griview control also have dropdownlist in the first column. I want to populate the dropdownlist inside the gridview control for all rows when the selected item is changed in the outside dropdownlist.
why the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?
