I am unable to find any control in row editing event of gridview that i have put in edit template. I have to populate the dropdown control so that in editing the user can select value from the control.
How ever i can access the controls in row updating .But i need it in row editing event.
I am using radiobuttonlist and textbox in the gridview. I need to do operations on radiobuttonlist so that it should reflect on textbox . this is to be done after gridview_rowediting event fires i.e when we can see "update" and "cancel" buttons. I tried like this,
[code]...
here default selected value is "0" given in source.
My problem here is when I am changing the selecteditem, the corresponding action is not done.
I've got a gridview that returns student order history which works just fine. It pulls the StudentId from a hidden field on page load. I have a link button that ADDS AN ORDER when clicked. It calls a stored procedure, inserts the record, then rebinds the gridview and displays the new record at the top of the list.
Problem is when I go to EDIT it, i get this error... "The GridView 'GridViewOrderHistory' fired event RowEditing which wasn't handled." But the interesting thing is the error doesn't occur if I close the browser and reload the page and then click on that new record that was created. Obviously I'm missing something in my code when the new order is created. Here are the 2 subs involved in the process.
I am populating the gridview on the basis of listbox selection . However, I am setting the datasource in the click event after listbox entry. When i am trying to update any record in the gridview this error gets thrown because the datasourceid from the aspx page has been removed. Code for reference -
protected void btn_save_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); foreach (object o in ListBox2.Items) { list.Add(o); } string str2 = null, str, host; string str1 = "SELECT SYSTEMNAME, DATETIME, PDOWNTIME, UDOWNTIME, SYSDOWNMINS, REASON FROM PLANNED_DOWNTIME where "; host = Convert.ToString(list[0]); str2 = " ( SYSTEMNAME like '" + host + "'"; for (int i = 1; i < list.Count; i++) { host = Convert.ToString(list[i]); str2 = str2 + " or SYSTEMNAME LIKE'" + host + "'"; } str = str1 + str2 + " )"; string connectstring = "Data Source=SRCPA035\ovops;Initial Catalog=reporter;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=sa;Password=ril123"; DataTable dt = new DataTable(); SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectstring); try { connection.Open(); SqlCommand sqlCmd = new SqlCommand(str, connection); SqlDataAdapter sqlDa = new SqlDataAdapter(sqlCmd); sqlDa.Fill(dt); if (dt.Rows.Count > 0) { GridView1.DataSource = dt; GridView1.DataBind(); } GridView1.DataSource = SqlDataSource1; } catch (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException ex) { string msg = "Fetch Error:"; msg += ex.Message; throw new Exception(msg); } finally { connection.Close(); } }
I understand I need to load my dynmaic control on every postback and preferrably in Page_Init(). But my dyanmic controls are loaded from a dropdownlist selectedindexchanged event handler. Now after any postback, my dynamic controls are gone. How would I force it to load on every postback ?
1. chkresponse = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.CheckBox[cnumber + 1]; for (int i = 0; i < cnumber + 1; i++){ chkresponse[i] = new System.Web.UI.WebControls.CheckBox(); chkresponse[i].CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(chkresponse_CheckedChanged); chkresponse[i].AutoPostBack =true; }
2. thereafter adding them to a panel
Panel1.Controls.Add(chkresponse[n]);
3. then added the checkedchanged event:
public void chkresponse_CheckedChanged(Object sender, System.EventArgs e) {Label1.Text = "response";}
but the event is never fired. the panel is insdie an updatepanel.
I am facing one strange problem,I have a gridview in which the last two columns have checkboxes and on those checkboxes click event I am doing some database operations.I also have one checkbox that is outside the gridview which actually shows or hides some of the gidview columns.This was all working well but now I have shifted that grid to a user control because I have to use it in two pages.The problem now is,When the page first loads and I click the check box or any control in the page that is outside the grid then it works perfectly.But once I click any of the check box within grid view column then its behavior chages, now even if I click the checkbox that is outside the grid then also the checkbox_CheckedChanged event of the checkbox that is whithin gridview is fired.That checkbox event then behaves something like a page_load event that is called for every page load and for every event with in the page after it is called once.
Can not fire Grid View RowEditing event in page load?

I work on a custom server control that contains two grids with dynamic templatefield checkbox , the 1st one binded by SqlDataSource, the 2nd grid filled with selected rows in the 1st grid, all is clear, the 2nd grid filled appropriatly but when a button(out of the custom control) click event fired the grid disappear , Second and what is important is how to save state of the checkbox while after postback I must create the field and bind the grid ?
for Template field :
class CheckBoxTemplateHandler:ITemplate { void ITemplate.InstantiateIn(Control container) [code]....
I have a question about a third-party DateTimePicker control. I've downloaded the dll and paste the appropriate web.config lines. I've put the control into the aspx page. When I load the page an alertbox appears:
No «add verb="GET" path="/JavascriptDateTimeFormat.axd" /» httpHandler.
The control's textbox and the buttons are present but does nothing. Part of my web.config is:
These work if the textbox is not in formview. I have the textbox which is in the formview. I can't get dynDateTime() to get it working when my textbox is in formview control.
I can't seem to check the checked value of a dynamic checkbox within a gridview. I've tried dozens of ways to test the checkbox's checked value, but it still returns false, when it should return true. If I change the checked value to true in the ASPX web page, then it will return true, even when it should return false. Any ideas? I've tried many different ways of checking the checkbox value including the one below.
I have a DropDownList with the visible property = false. When the user check's the checkbox I want the DropDownList to become visible. If the user unchecked the checkbox I want the DropDownList unvisible again.If there anyne who can help me. I'm using vb. I try this code in the checkedchanged event but didn't work.
I've been reading up on the problems with dynamically created controls and how they have been solved. The posts I have come across are creating the controls in a panel or some other open place. I can't seem to get my checkbox to fire the event from inside a gridview. below is the code behind from inside the GridView PreRender event.
[Code]....
..And the Checked Event.. [Code]....
So after all this, nothing happens. I get the postback flash but my command inside the checked event doesn't fire.I tried putting the dynamic creation of the checkbox in Page Load with no effect.. I think because I can't place the checkbox inside the GridView under page load.
I have a gridview with one column of checkboxes and other columns with different custom controls. What I want is that when a checkbox is checked an event is triggered which toggles the visibility of other elements in the row .
I have a custom control which contains (amongst other things) an imageButton.
I'm adding a handler to the "click" event of the imageButton however when the button is clicked the handler routine is not called. where I am going wrong with this? should I be handling the click event in some other way?
