how to make gridview with scrollbar with making header static.
View 2 Repliesmy page contains gridviews, textboxes, comboboxes... : one of the gridview is hidden; the user needs to press a button to make it visible (it is inside a panel that contains a vertical scroll, and have a header and a footer, and this last panel is contained in an update panel).
i want to make the header and footer fixed while scrolling. i need this to work in ie and in firefox the latest versions.
Are there any CSS styles for the GridView control that compliments the VS2010 Web Applicataion theme?
View 1 RepliesI have a validation method which passes the control of a failed validation ( IE TextBox in the Gridview row ) to a method which adds a validationError style.This all worked fine until I decided to use declarative css styling on the properties of the columns in the page IE Control-CssClass="someClass".
WHen I click the update and do find an error, I pass the control to have the validationError class appended. but it appears the declarative setting overrides this when it gets rendered.

How to set styles for required display?
I have a listview with multiple records inside a div whose overflow property has been set to enable scrollbars. Now I have another search panel in which If i click on a particular item the corresponding item in the listview gets selected. But the problem is that the item gets selected but the user cannot view it if its way down on the list.I also want the scrollbar to move in order to let the user show the selected item.
View 8 Repliesafter refreshing only scrollbar are working.Following code I write in one page and call this page in master page
<asp:Panel ID="Pan1" Height="80px" Width="250px"

Is it possible to show from the begining a vertical scroll bar associated with a datagrid control, i want to avoid using overflow property in div:
<div id="Div1" style="OVERFLOW: auto; WIDTH: 730px; HEIGHT: 260px" runat="server">
<asp:datagrid id="OrdersDG" runat="server" Width="700px" CssClass="GridTextboxes" DataKeyField="orderid"
I used below code for put scroll for Dropdown listÂ
<script>
function onSelectMouseDown() {
document.getElementById("<%= DDLcity1.ClientID%>").size = 10;
}
</script>
I define label under DDL like below
Now problem is that when I click on DDL to see Item Label that I define jump to bottom of page I mean lable doesn't stay under DDL it jump bottom.
what should I do?
I'm working on a website to showcase some of my bird photography, using ASP.NET 2.0 and C# with a SQLServerExpress backend.What I have right now is a ListBox bound to my database that displays a list of common names of birds and when the user clicks on an item in the listbox the main image on the page is changed to the image for that bird. For style reasons I want the listbox to always be a fixed size and because I specify the size (using CSS) a vertical scrollbar appears. My problem is that I want to provide my own images of arrows that go above and below the box such that when the user hovers over an arrow the box scrolls slowly and when the user clicks an arow the box scrolls quickly. Finally, my main problem is that I want to get rid of the ugly default vertical scrollbar that comes with ListBox.
Can you guys help me figure out how to do this? I don't mind using a different control other than ListBox as long as it is available in ASP.NET 2.0 and as long as it can be bound to my db. I also don't mind using JavaScript (which I'm sure I'll end up doing for the hover effects). Right now I'm fooling around with subclassing the ListBox control but I've never subclassed a control before so I'm somewhat clueless.
I know placing all your styles in a CSS file is the best thing to do as it is a lot neater.
But does it REALLY matter if the styles are inline or in a CSS?
Edit below
My plan is to just place the styles in my MasterPage and all other pages will use the MasterPage....I believe the correct term is not "INLINE" but Embedded?
Grid vertical scroll barÂ
<asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" Height="172px" Width="500px" ScrollBars="Vertical">...
I have a grid in the panel as i need to scroll vertically for grid records but even if rows r more i am not able to get vertical scrolling...
i have a gridview binded with data when i hover mouse to row i want to display a image button to display date ,and when i click the button i want to display calender control for choose date, and next step after i choose date it will be must insert into database. and mean while a hidden label control will display and date shuld be display in it
View 2 RepliesAfter saving image in db how can we retrieve it in gridview like thumbnail size image and by clicking on image in gridview its open as preview. How can we do this in asp.net using c#.
View 1 RepliesI have a GridView control (GridView1) on a page which is reading from a database. I already have a CSS style applied to the GridView and all I want to do is change the background image applied in the style depending on if a certain cell has data in it or not.
The way I'm trying to handle this change is updating the CSS class applied to each row through C#. I have the code below doing this:
protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
GridViewRow row = e.Row;
string s = row.Cells[7].Text;
if (s.Length > 0)
{
row.CssClass = "newRowBackground";........
It seems as if the top piece of code is always returning the string with a value greater than 0, but when I check the database the fields are all null (except for my test record of "Smith").
I'm probably doing something very simple that's wrong here, but I can't see what. Like I said, I'm still very new to this. One thing I have tried is changing the argument in the if statement to things like: if (s != null), if (s != "") and if (s == string.empty) all with no luck.
I have seen numerous posts with this problem, however none of the solutions have worked for me. I am using asp.net 4.0 forms authentication. I have the following set in my config file.
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="~/Account/Login.aspx" />
</authentication>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
The login.aspx page uses a master page and styles in a stylesheet located in a folder off the root directory called 'Styles'. I have also add the following to my config file.
<location path="~/Styles">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users = "*"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
When the page displays, the login page displays with the master page content, however all of the styles are missing. When I embed styles into the master page the styles show properly, so I know the problem is that the styles are not being accessed from the file. how I can authorize access to the stylesheet?
If the gridview binds to empty dataset, I need to still show a gridview so that users can ADD more using the textfields in the bottom of the footer template. Since the gridview is empty it won't bind not allowing rendering of the <footer template> I guess I should create a empty dataset if the gridview is empty. How do I check for this and can this be done in GridviewRowEventArgs
