Data Controls :: Insert GridView Data To Database Using Entity Framework
Aug 18, 2015
I am working with entity frame work to insert data into data base for that I write a web method and query function but data can’t insert data base following my function and web method.
/////////////////////////
function AddGridviewData() {
var AddRow = new Array();
$('[id*=Test_gridview]').find('tr:has(td)').each(function () {
var NewRow = {};
NewRow. name = $(this).find("td:eq(1)").html();
[Code] ...
There are no error and no insert the data into data base.
I've a gridview with 6 coloums. First col is dropdown list and rest are text boxes.aspx page looks like this
[Code]....
I've a created a class and bounded to grid view in my Business LayerThe dropdown list was bounded to another table by using gvExpense_RowDataBound eventNo.of rows in gridview depends on no. of rows in expensetype table
I have three table like above, table C is mapping table which has foreign key of Table A and B.How can i select and insert data in Table C using Entity Frame Work?
I am new to Entity Framework and working my way through it little by little. I think I have it figured out on how to get data into and out of 1 table at a time now the challenge is 2 tables into a gridview. I have a user table that has a list of threads that a user can mark to track. Easy enough. Assign the userid number & threadid to a table with a push button while the user is logged in and viewing any of the posts that are on that thread. The new challange is to get only the posts that the user has marked to track. SQL easy. Entity not sure what to do.
If I make a view or stored procedure and add it to the database that would be an extra step. To join the 2 tables as in sql Select posts from posts where track.userid = @userid join track on post.userid=track.userid Seems Entity was made to avoid this type of thing. Than once the data is gathered I need to bind it to a gridview()
I have a gridview displaying "registrationtype id" (FK) from the registration table. I want it to display the related name instead of the id from the registartiontype table.
I get an cast exception when i am trying to insert an entity in Entity Framework (using code-first). From this code :
public virtual T Insert(T entity) { return Context.Set<T>().Add(entity); }
The cast exception is like "impossible to cast ...Collection'1(Entity) to type (Entity)" I can't figure out why. I am pretty sure ive done everything right. Post entity
public class Post { public long PostId { get; private set; } public DateTime date { get; set; } [Required] public string Subject { get; set; } public User User { get; set; } public Category Category { get; set; } [Required] public string Body { get; set; } public virtual ICollection<Tag> Tags { get; private set; } public Post() { Category = new Category(); if (Tags == null) Tags = new Collection<Tag>(); }................................
Is there a way to export a EF 4.0 Data Model to EF 3.5?
I looked around and found that we are not able to access EF 4.0 from a ASP.Net 3.5 project here: [URL]
Our project is the 1st to go to .Net 4.0 using Entity Framework and we (the team) were wondering if there was a way for the other projects that "might" need to access our data that are still using the .Net 3.5 framework.
I'm working on a new project where I have the luxury of working from a Model to Database approach using Entity Framework 4.
The project I'm working on is taking an agile approach where different phases will be rolled out over time.
Will the Model First approach work in my case? I noticed when you "Generate Database from Model" it recreates the entire schema from scratch which will obviously wipe all the data that is in the db. I was hoping for a more "Update Database from Model" approach where the db would just be altered to reflect the changes rather than recreated
I'm using the linq to entity command to perform a record update. I want to set one of the fields back to NULL but I'm not sure how do it. I have a query such as
Dim record = From r in db.LISTS where r.ID = refID Select r record.Title = txtTitle.text if txtDetail.text = "" then record.Detail = end if
I have grid view in ASP.Net 3.5. I need to add multiple blank rows in a gridview and then have to save them in database. How can I do that in most simplest way?
I use a Detailsview, Entity Data Source to edit/update my table with only 3 columns.(it has primary keys).
Everything works fine inserts/edit in dev environment. but when i run this in release mode. i cannot update existing data in the database with the detailsview. whenever i update and save page gets refreshed, but nothing gets updated. but whenever i insert a new record, and then i try editing it. it works.?
Note: i handle DetailsviewItemUpdating,DetailsviewItemInserting events to do some custom checks.
I am trying to add a new entity and have to refernce associated data to add it. I cannot load the Referencetables. Giving "The EntityReference could not be loaded because it is not attached to an ObjectContext." How do i complete this task in Entity Framework 3.5
i'm currently doing a shopping website. The customer will have to selected the item they want to buy and it will appear in the detail view when they click add in the grid view. I need the info inside the detail view to be insert into a database call Orderlist.
i've try using INSERT INTO OrderList (ProductName, Price,) VALUES (@ProductName, @Price) but it don't seems to work.
Was it because i can't insert it like this as it is detailview? This method can work if is Textbox instead of detailview.
i have a gridview of 8 columns.I need to extract the data row by row from the the first(Message) and the last(phone_no) column and to be inserted into my sql table named massMessage.I have the codes here. Apparently im able to only extract the phone_no. My message wasnt inserted.
protected void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (GridViewRow gvr in GridView2.Rows) //loop through GridView

I have 3 tables in the database, with a Many to Many relationship:
Assessment(assessID, userID, A, B, C)Grade(gradeID, scoreA, scoreB, scoreC)AssessmentGrade(assessID, gradeID) [PK and FK]I can already Insert into the Assessment AND Grade tables without any problems.I cannot seem to figure out how to Insert into the AssessmentGrade table. There is no separate Entity, because there is only the PK/FK in the AssessmentGrade. I have looked at some tutorials, but none of them seem to address my situation.
