We had an issue with a DMZ SQL server so we brought up another server in it's place with the same name, etc Everything appears to work properly. But on one of our pages, we're getting this error (see below). What else is odd is that I pointed our internal test webserver to the same SQL server (running the same code, etc) and it works just fine.Code wise, there are three gridviews on this page within three different tab panels displaying information. The gridviews are being databound by seperate SqlDataSources.
Description:An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
This issue is similiar to here. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1155263/what-causes-internal-connection-fatal-errors
Except it's only happening on one stored procedure and is happening all of the time and is only happening when I access this stored procedure from my website.I've even ran the stored procedure in SQL Server and it seems to execute fine.
Following is the error I am getting while accessing some of the pages on my website.
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
It is trowing an exception and giving the about mentioned error.
i get error A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
iam trying to fill my dataSet Iam getting Error: Fatal error encountered during command execution.Ima using Ms.Net 2.0 and MySql 5.0 So Thing is Iam Hanged Here .My Code as Like:

I have an application with a few dbml files to connect to several sql servers in order to import data from one to another using Linq to SQL.
There are 2 connection strings with integrated security and in one I provide user ID and password.
It all works great in the development workstation. I've then wrapped the dll project and deployed the asp.net application to a test server. Then, when I tried to run the application to import the data, I got a connection exception:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
I figured out after some debugging the problem is with the DataContext whose connection string is the one I provide user ID and password. Now, the funny part is that the same connection string works if I create a udl file and test it. And again the same connection string works with my development workstation.
Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to failure in retrieving the user's local application data path. make sure the user has a local user profile on the computer. The connection will be closed.
I am using Asp.Net MVC 2.0 for creating a user and assigning properties to the user at the same time. I am using my Windows account to access database on my local computer. I am using pre-installed MVC code o create a user with unique user name and password. User is created OK. Then I want to add profile properties like First and Last name at the same time.
where profileInformation is a RegisterModel and has user info.
When I am trying to:
profileBase.SetPropertyValue(.....);
I am getting the following error # 2147467259 A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"}
Why is my connection string works fine the first time and not working now? And how to configure connection to use TCP-IP?
I have SQL Server Browser running ander Local account and openned port in my Firewall.
Background: I use SQL server 2005 developer edition and visual studio 2008. Visual studio 2008 is running on a local machine with Vista business edition. SQL server is running on a remote server using Windows server 2003. Both computers are within the same domain.
Problem: First, I used the server explorer to connect to the SQL server. Everything works as desired. Then I write code to do the same thing. I keep getting the following error message:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 25 - Connection string is not valid)
However, I used the exactly identical connection string as the one used in the server explorer. So connection string should not be the problem. In addition, I tried the test code in MSDN, which tells whether my domainusername can flow the network. It turns out the user name is fine. I also went to the SQL server management studio and found the login for my computer is NVCWeihao while my computer login name is NVCweihao. I am wondering if this uppercase letter really affects the connection.
If I open a connection and don't close it after query execution completes, store it somewhere, and use it next time a request comes in, isn't it something similar to what .net does? Is it possible to maintain a pool of connections according to our requirements without depending on ADO.NET's internal mechanism? In case of ODBC, I read somewhere that connection pooling will have to be enabled from ODBC datasources and that it cannot be set from within .net. What if I open a few ODB connections, leave them open and use those whenever a request comes in and close all of them when I know that I dont need them anymore. How is it different from connection pooling?
I previously used a datasource and a connection string to connect to my database on sql server and all orked fine. The connection string was saved in my web.config file and is: ....
I am using VS2008 and oracle 10g ODP.Net. The oracle database that I used in the connection is working and tested it using sql plus. The connection string when used in a GriDView works perfectly. Now when I created a new listview control with the same connection it gives an error.Database schema could not be retrieved for this connection. Please make sure connection settings are correct and the database is online
Object reference not set to an instance of an object at VSDataObjectSupport (478,6)
In my DAL i have more than 100 methods/Function, each and every method am opening the sqlconnection and closing the connection, this is taking too much of time to establish the connection at every time. So what i expect is one common class will create the SqlConnection that will check if the connection is Broken or Closed then create the connection again else return the connection, how to do this(Also i would like to apply ConnectionPooling).
I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and my database is SQL Server 2000.
I want to add a connection to the Server Explorer in VS. The Data source is Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient). After entering in all my information and I click Test Connection, it is successful.
But when I click OK, I get the error:
Unable to add data connection. ExecuteScalar requires an open and available connection. The connection's current state is closed.
Not sure why it works if i connect to SQL 2005 on another server, but now that i have SQL Express on the same server as the pages, im getting the following error: I have attached my connection string within my web.config and also how its being called within the code behind. Now this page was written by another programmer some time back.. so not sure if the method he used to do this is the best or only way. But i have connected to other SQL database with other applications with alot less code.

I have developed Dynamic Data application for DB administration. I'd like to show thrown exception message (when connection to db is closed) in UI friendly manner. I cant figure out where to catch this exception.
Tried EntityDataSource events in List PageTemplate - no success.
I am developing one web application using MS Access database using oledb connection.Previously i checked the same application is works well in the same machine. Now Today i checked they provide "Unspecified Error". And also Provide the following Exception:

I am using the following connection string for connecting database:
I have just installed IIS manager version 6.1 build 7600 and visual studio 2010 (latest additions of both).
I have followed all the instructions and given the correct permisions ect for IIS to work with my directory. I have a helloworld website that has worked via the localhost server many times, but almost hourly something happens to the settings in IIS and it starts throwing errors.
The current error copied below. Basically I am wondering a few things...
1. Why does my IIS constantly do something so that it works one minute and then it wont the next (this is with an identical helloworld.htm file so I know it is not something I am doing with the file that is messing it up).

I am currently trying to setup our website on a windows 2008 R2 64bit machine without much success. When I try to run the website I get the error detailed below. This only happens when I run the site under .NET 4. It works when I run it under .NET 2.
I have also tried going to a test aspx page to see what happens and it also give me the same error so it is obviously something to do with .NET 4 or the way I have it set up. I am thinking it might be a permissions thing but I am not sure what permissions should be set where. Please note this is the full version of .NET 4. The error I keep getting is:
HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

the same application is working fine in 32 bit machine of my colleague where as in my 64 bit machine I am getting the following error. I also tried by changing Target Platform of the web app, under Properties-->Build-->Platform Target: From X86 to X64, in fact I tried all 3.

I'm very new to ASP and have been writing a site which has been working fine both in development and on my production server.
However I added some reports to my site and now it works fine when I run debug on my local machine, but when I package the solution and move it onto my production server I get:
HTTP Error 500.23 - Internal Server Error
An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
I'm suing server 2008 STD X64 with IIS7. I've made sure all my windows updates are done.
I've no idea whats causing this. I've tried removing the pages with reports on and I still get the same issue.
As you can see, the connectionstring parameter is defined to a specific connection string name and I need to be able to set such a parameter to a different value, for example, to a session variable content.
