my table i have a column named [Name] nvarchar(255)[Name] can be a string witch can have some diacritics like "Ăă, Ââ, Îî, Țț, Șș"If i am using this, it returns for word "Antichități" the string "Antichitați"

But if i am trying to replace "ț" with "t", it doesn't work

[Code]....

The result is still "Antichități"How can i resolve this issue?

I got a gridview to display the data from the database properly but when I go edit. it give me an error. I searched and change ConflictDetection=CompareAllValues to OverwriteChanges

The error goes away. However the database is still doesn't update. Does anyone had to tweak the gridview function to make it works. Maybe I did something wrong.

I have records with and without a email entered in the field called 'email'.

This one works:

Return From p In db.myTable _

Where p.Email.Length > 0 _

Select New With {.p.Name, p.Email}

but this doesn't

Return From p In db.myTable _

Where p.Email.Length = 0 _ ( nor does Where NOT p.Email.Length > 0 )

Select New With {.p.Name, p.Email}

Am I missing something?

i want to convert all my database columns whose data type is char,varchar, nchar to nvarchar datatype. But the main problem is that some of my primary key, foreign key columns are also of varchar datatype. So when i try to change their datatypes to nvarchar then i receive the errors related to constraints of Primary Key, Unique Key and indexes. how to change the datatypes to nvarchar after droping the constraints and after changing all constraints will apply again. I also want that no data loss will occur.

When I pull it in it gets converted to x#FirstName

Fine. So I tried string.replace as shown below and it change my string.

I have a situation where I'm trying to figure out how to remove inline carriage returns and linefeed characters from my imported text file. It would appear that these are being introduced when someone does a cut/paste operation into the system I'm getting my tab delimited file from. The logic I'm using is when we encounter that this is a line delimiter. The problem is these line characters get placed in line so when I pull my data, I get multiple line breaks in the stream and it skips the record where these ones are. I did see one bit of code where the answer was to replace one with another like this:

My concern however is will this only impact things inline and not the carriage return at the end of the line doing something like this:

I'm coding a custom control. And I have designed a CompositeControl . There is an property whose type is a complex class(which I designed) in this CompositeControl! And the complex class was added the Attribute [TypeConverter(typeof(ExpandableObjectConverter))] However everytime I try to modify the member of the property in the property panel, it doesn't work !

Although the member is changed in the property panel , there is still no change in the code view !

Ajax With WCF Work. But Few Miniute After, Doesn't Work

I am a new to WCF. I have written ajax to use a web service before, but on this project I am trying to use ajax to WCF.After I build the project and wcf using ajax, I receive the return successfully. But, 10 or more minutes later I don't get a return, the ajax calls the error function, and the fiddler returns nothing.

If I rebuild the project without any source modifying, I receive the return successfully again.

i have a gridview that binds data after changes were made (delete,update..) and it's all done with the c# method DataBind() and i don't know why FF shows the changes but in IE8 the grid remains the same and only if i navigate back and refresh, then i see the changes.

I am making checkbox in datagrid, no matter what I try, I cannot get the right result from checkbox. Even I check or not check the checkbox, the result is false. It is like somehow the result is always the default value of the checkbox.

Here is code:

I have a gridview connected to my objectdatasource, i wrote a class for the database queries.Now when i do an update of record i get the id form the grid, when i click on delete i don't get the id, its 0.Is there an option to set the id? i can't find it in the gridview.
