form the above coding i will get all values form the table stu_ref of regno of student now i need to get the first and the last regno from the table
for eg TextBox1=103301
TextBox2=103378
the total no of student=78

I am looking to retrieve data from a database and assign those values to class objects which in turn will be turned into session variables. I am using an object datasource to retrieve the data from the database but I cannot find anywhere that shows how to assign these values to variables. The data is returned in a dataset. There is the added problem that there will be mulitple items returned which will have to be assigned to different arraylists of objects based on the a primary key in the database.

I create a gridview in the code behind and fill it with a dataset. I want to provide some information about the data in a label above the grid. In the code posted I want to be able to say something like "Story county has 6 overdue tasks, Polk county has 12 overdue tasks, etc ..." So far I have been trying some different combinations with the dataset and the gridview but nothing gives me totals.

but i when i am using LINQ it gives me result in the form ISingleResult so can anyone tell me how to get a dataset from a girdview after assigning data to gridview

I am trying to return a dataset. I must be doing something wrong. The returned dataset in this sample code indicates there is a datatable, Users, but there are no datarows. What am I doing wrong? This example is only using the rows.count, but of course I really need to use the whole datatable as the datasource for a gridview.

My stored Procedure returns two tables say table1 and table2. When I try to fill the dataset, table1 is filling properly and table2 filling only one row of the table remaining rows coming empty. There is no error when I compile the code. And the output is an empty page.

I have a GridView populated by an ObjectDataSource. I also have several DropDownLists filtering the ObjectDataSource. I found a link providing a way to export a DataSet (or DataTable) to Excel here:

I have a form with several DropDownlists and TextBoxes, Each dropdownlist depends on the selection of the previouse one.. and there is a submit button. Once the user clicks on it, information entered by the user is displayed in a GridView and saved as well in the database. I have a checkbox column in a Gridview that I would like to use to insert the value of one cell in the row into an access database. There will be a maximun of five cells allowed to be selected so there can be one value written to one field in the database up to the maximum of the five fields. The access database has five columns: Selection1 ,Selection2, Selection3 ,Selection4 and Selection5
When the checkbox is checked, the value of one cell (PliD) should be written to each field in the database. Ie: checkbox in row 1 should write PliD value to Selection1, checkbox in row 2 should write PliD value to Selection2, checkbox in row 3 should write PliD value to Selection3 and on depending on which checkbox has been checked. I am not sure how to get the value of the checkbox and write it into the corresponding fields in the database.

So far i've populated my grid view with my roomID. however using data reader I don't seem to be able to get more than one column to auto generate even though i'm now looking for three values : SELECT tt_roomEquip.roomID, tt_room.roomCapacity, tt_equip.equipTitle is my select bit of the sql, though it's only putting roomID into my grid view.

I have a problem, I need to get a date from an SQL database using a dataset.xsd.
To do that, I have created a query in the TableAdapter called GetDataByFecha:
SELECT fecha
FROM T_Tickets
WHERE(fecha = @fecha)
in C# I do this:
DateTime T_fecha;
T_fecha = Convert.ToDateTime(ticketsAdapter.GetDataByFecha(fechaTicket));
but, when I compile it I get this error:
cannot convert a 'T_TicketsDataTable' object to 'System.IConvertible' type.

I have dataset which is called at page load event. Also every time i clicked on refresh it will call refresh function where it store updated values from database.
Now I want only updated fields row and want to store into datatable or another dataset.
I dont want to cmp each and every iteration of the dataset. I used Getchanges() of dataset but not working.

In my project I work with Entity Framework (LINQ to ENTITY). I only have ADO.NET Entity Data Model and a DAL (Data Access Layer). I also get the data due a WCFClientService. I have a gridview that needed to be exported in Excel.
FlexCel is a tool for generating Excel files based on a template. The only thing I see in demo's is that they work with DataSets.
Is there a way to convert the data in my gridview to a virtual DataSet?
