DataSource Controls :: How To Pass The Array ( Object[]) Or Structure Data Type Value To The Store Procedure
May 6, 2010
I want to pass the Array ( object[]) or Structure data type value to the store procedure through
ibatis .net. I can do same by commandtext using SQLDBType.Structure. I am using Table value function in sql server 2008 and .Net 2010.
I have a page with list box and user can select multiple values from that lst box. Now what I want to do is when user submits the page I want to generate a comma seprated string that contins the ID's of values selected and pass this string to stored procedure. String would look like something like that '2,5,9'
Now my question is how can I split these ids in my stored procedure and get the records based on these ID's. In want to pass this array to Source coloumn in the follwoing Stored procedure and get the data. Right now following stored procedure is working on the basis of single source id passed to it.
I was looking at the options in Intellisense for the properties used with a parameter for the Object Data Source. There is one that I don't understand how it would be used. explain, or recommend an article, about the DB Type is for and how it would be used?
I am trying to write a function that can be called to run a stored procedure. I pass the stored procedure name, followed by as many parameters as I need to run the procedure. I am able to do this by using the params keyword, so my function looks something like this;
[Code]....
How can I determine what the data type of the parameter is? Maybe I need to alter the string[] part, above?
I been working on a simple site today and when I found myself surprised about this. I got a object model that gone have like a lot of emails to it so I thought Ill do a string array to keep them, then I paused and tried to figure how do I save that to a database and how do I work with this? I always found myself working with collections of objects instead. So I'm kinda embaries to say this but how do I work with this? can I save a array to database
I'm trying to understand when to use the type property and when to use the dbtype property. I looked online but couldn't find a good article that said when and why.
I had a little problem with the value that one of my SPs returns. In my SP, I create some temporary tables to store certain data from multiple tables and contains some queries for an advanced calculationBut precisely yesterday, the value that the SP returns was incorrect. I tried to look at the SP and the data again and everything was OK, but not the result from the SP.And what the heck!!..today the value is totally right ...I truly have no idea what's wrong with the SP..Is there anyone knows what the root of cause is?
I created a CR which data source is a store procedure. Within the store procedure there is one parameter. How to pass a value to the parameter and display CR on the screen?
I have another post on formatting arrays [URL], thinking that would be the way.. and may be it is.. But let me explain it here and see if thats where i need to focus. I have a class that i use to call 3 different procedures, the values from proc#1 are passed to proc#2 and then proc#2 values passed on to proc#3. Now my problem is that i need the results from proc#3 to be placed in a variable i can pass on to another procedure to execute a query.
Proc#1 returns only 1 record. (easy to place into a session or variable)
Proc#2 returns only 1 record. (easy to place into a session or variable)
Proc#3 returns multple records(its only 1 field that is returned, but can have multiple records), so i need to know what is the best solution to place all records returned into a session or variable to use as a parameter in a query?
Since i need to pass those values to a stored procedure, how can i pass what is returned from proc#3 to my query? One of the parameter of the store procedure is our locations, so my query will look like this:
Select * From tblName Where loc LIKE ('1','2','3' )
So i want to set it up so that the values within the LIKE statement are passed in from the page like so
I want to execute a Store Procedure and then get the Output in one table. However I am not getting the query. I want something like this execute 'Stored procedure name' 'param1','param2','param3' and then get the result into some table. Is this possible? select * into #table from (execute 'Stored procedure name' 'param1','param2','param3')
I am using SqlDataSource control to query my data via store procedure. Based on which option the user picked from the RadioButtonList control, I want to dynamically at run time to choose which store procedure gets executed. How do I do this? I am already using Query String for my parapmeters. I can could use this for the store procedure as well. The problem is, how do I get the SelectCommand to pick the store procedure name from the parameter passed in the URL?
When I try to create a stored proc in SQL Server Express 2008 by right clicking on the Stored Procedures folder of my database and selecting New Stored Procedure, then attempt to save, it saves the procedure as a SQL query in the projects folder instead of saving it as a stored procedure in the Stored Procedures folder of my database.
I wanted to delete the record from data but I receive this error "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Data.Linq.DataQuery`1[training_eval.Course]' to type 'training_eval.Course'.
Dim eval_sure = From ev In db.Evaluates Where ev.course_id = indexcourse Select ev.course_id Dim del_course = From c In db.Courses Where c.Course_id = indexcourse db.Courses.DeleteOnSubmit(del_course) db.SubmitChanges()
i am a new bee in SQL Server 2005. I have a stored procedure that accept two parameter , variable @ColumnName as column name and @SearchText as search text.
My stored procedure is written as below:
[Code]....
but the error i get is "The 'usp_GetPlantTest' procedure attempted to return a status of NULL, which is not allowed. A status of 0 will be returned instead."
Here's a stored procedure I created that uses another stored procedure inside it to return a value:
[Code]....
Note the 'exec dirinfo.dbo.d_searchempbyname @TicketSubName' part. That stored procedure will return a single record. What I need is to get a single column from that recordset (in this case, the email address of the employee), and store that value in a variable.
My insert is adding a record to the database in the call to the stored procedure in SQL Server, but a -1 is returned - Shouldn't it return 0 if the insert/update was successful?
