DataSource Controls :: Save Video Files In Sql Server Using C# / Linq And Silverlight?
Apr 5, 2010
I am working on an Entertainment Website, my client wants to save videos in the database, i am a bit aware of silverlight, that it can be done through microsoft's silverlight platform.
how to accomplish my goal, i am using ASP.Net with C# and LINQ and backend in MS-SQL Server 2008.
want to store videos in database using linq i am using a object data source and calling a addvideo method but i have no idea how will be the query to insert data in sql server using linq and how i will store binary data in database using linq.
I have a table into the database. Table name is NewResults. I have created instance of NewResult called result and fill it with all the infos i need. Now when I try to add i dont have add method in
context.NewResults. -> no Add here. So if i enter context.NewResults.Add(result) error as below is shown:
Error 1 'System.Data.Linq.Table<UDWAutoLinqTry.LinqToSql.NewResult>' does not contain a definition for 'Add' and no extension method 'Add' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Data.Linq.Table<UDWAutoLinqTry.LinqToSql.NewResult>' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) what am i missing?
I know that i dont have to create add method myself i was googling and i am doing everything as it should but still no luck?
I am using LINQ to SQL files in my class libray since every LINQ to SQL sources file is a seprate file and i have to set database connection string in each class library. Now, i have total 7 class libraires in my project how connection string be passed from web.onfg to LINQ file, so that i don't need to manually change the connection string. lke we did in asp.net 2.0 using connection string property in class file library.
How could we pass the same in LINQ's designer file.
in my project i would like to save pdf files in database, how to save pdf files in database ? along with that i would like to create create a search page to search for pdf files with PDF file names , how to accoplish these things
I have some structured objects that map to multiple DB tables that I have created using LINQ using [Association(Name=, Storage=, ThisKey=, OtherKey=)] links to the objects attached to other tables. If I try to create an association to an object attached to a table on another database server, will this throw an error/go horribly wrong (I'm guessing yes)? If this _is_ possible, are there any issues I need to be aware of?
I have this code to upload .xls files to sql server and am wondering what I need to change in order to upload comma delimited .dat files.
Dim connString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("xls").ConnectionString 'Declare Variables - Edit these based on your particular situation Dim sSQLTable As String = "tempContainer" Dim sExcelFileName As String [code]....
and i found it, here http://forums.asp.net/p/1480079/3451771.aspxi can fairly easily code for a general dbase (name, address, etc..)my question here with this code is...where does my dbase info go?
my dbase info dbase name = files tablename = fileTable column names = fileOne, fileTwo, fileThree the file upload object is called "fileupload1" and this all goes with a "submit" button
also, that is pretty much for one file, what if the user is uploading more than one file? do i just add more if/then statements, one for each fileupload object?
When trying to generate rdp files on a web server with C#, when I try to save the rdp file it always fails with access denied. ASPNET and Network Services has full access, and even added EVERYONE as full permissions and it still won't save?
I am writing a plugin to help with a current ERP system we have that I am not allowed to modify the data structure at all. The table I am dealing with has over 100 columns and I am wanting to set my linq object propertychanged event and submitchanges or do I really have list out each property and set it equal to the new one?Below is an example of what I am trying to do:
Like that I have large number of controls on my form. I have dought, if I assigned like this, db.usp_ATI_FetchPatientDetails(iPatientID).ElementAt(0).Last_Name.ToString(); to every control, then I have set of controls like,
My question is that, for each control the Stored Procedure called or not? If it is yes then it is time consuming and I need to use LINQ to DataSet or LINQ to Object rather than to call SP for each control. What is difference between LINQ to DataSet and LINQ to Object?
I have one AsyncFileUpload control ,one Attach button, one Listbox and Save button.
When Users browse the file and click the attach button, filename must be added to listbox. So in this way the user has the option to add upto multiple filenames to listbox. For this i have written the following code
[Code]....
this is source code
[Code]....
In Attach button click event i added the filename to listbox and saved the Asyncfileupload controls in different session variable.
When user clicks on save button all files has to be saved in application folder and for this i wrote the following code.
[Code]....
But iam unable to save all the files . Suppose i added two AsyncFileupload controls to session variables, only last file i,e. 2nd file can only be saved and couldn't get first file.
