I've created a connection to a read only Oracle database but when trying to execute a very simple SELECT statement it generates the following error:

I've tried a datareader and dataadapter so its looking like a specific issue or protocol with the database that I am unaware of.

Access :: IIS_WPG Write/modify Access To The Folder Where MS-Access Database Is Located - Insert An Error Pop-up?

Feb 17, 2010

Is there anything missing in IIS 6.0 that prevents me from (Insert into table) using MS-Access?

Explain: The application works fine under Visual Studio 2008 IDE the insert into table works fine with no error, Also I tested with hosting provider and works fine with no problem. but now I have published the same exact app in a dedicated server windows 2003 with
IIS 6.0 .NET framework 2.0 with latest service pack I gave IIS_WPG write/modify access to the folder where MS-Access database is located and database but at the time of insert an error pop-up. I need to install in the Server or settings in the IIS to recognize my MS-Access db is it some office runtime that I am missing. (BTW I am using OLEDB connection string in my C# )

Using System.Data.OleDb;

I can retrieve data off of it with no problem but when I try to insert is when it fails I thought the problem was Access Rights but I do not think is the case.

Mar 20, 2011

My question is that if the user click on button (which is place in default.aspx, for example) then the database table is created in database (SQL express), how can do that? I have tried but errors are occuring during debugging, errors are:the best overloaded method match for ' command.odbc command(string, connection)'has some invalid arguments.
Argument'2':cannot convert from '' to ' connection'.
The code written in c# behind the button (button is placed in default.aspx, for example) is:

using System.Collections;
using System.Configuration;
using System.Data;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;

SQL Server :: Use Management Studio With Database Created Within MS Web - Connect To New Database?

Mar 30, 2011

I have created a web application and an SQL database using Web Developer 2010 Express. I have SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio Express. In order to deploy the database to my hosting space I need to create a .BAK file from my new database. I think I can do this from with the Management Studio, but can't figure out how to get it to connect to the database. I have used Management Studio before to retore another SQL database and the only connection I see when I open the Management Studio is the old connection to the old database. How do I connect to my new database?

C# - Access To An Object Created In Page From A Class?

Jan 18, 2010

I have a page, Default.aspx, with its own code-behind file like this:

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page
public int[] anArray;

What I'd like to do is access to "anArray" from a C# class (not tied to a page) declared in App_Code folder. What can I do?

Edit: As said in the first comment, I really apreciate your about refactoring my connection objects. However, what I'm really doing here is to rewrite an old PHP application in order to get comfortable with basic C# and ASP.NET, so this code will never go really live. So, I'm still intersted in a way (if any) to access an object declared in a code-behind code from a standard C# class.

Edit2: I removed the OdbcConnection object in order to focus to the real problem: how to refer to an object istantiated in a code-behind file from a C# class situated in App_Code?

Databases :: Way To Access Datas Using SQL?

Jul 12, 2010

I read a lot of tutorials to learn what was the way to manage accessdata on a MySQL database from my ASP.NET, but there still something to whichremains unclear is the formatting of data and the ideal time to do so.For example, if I have a sentence like the following:"Je voudrais t'aider à résoudre ton problème"
When I pass the variable that contains this sentence, I wonder who the quotea problem because the SQL query in this setting look like this:"'I want to help you solve your problem'The quote of "t'aider" comes as the end of ther string in the query string. So I have to the format the string to double the quote to be able to pass it in the database..Maybe I missed the good tutorials, so if you have any links

Jquery - Access A Dynamically Created Control Through Javascript?

Sep 25, 2010

I've a JavaScript function in my page through which i make some elements in the page as 'JQuery UI droppable'.

function setDroppableTargets()

But the elements with the class cssDockZone is created dynamically upon user interaction. So in the code behind i create the control first and finally at the end i register a scriptblock which calls setDroppableTargets().

//set droppable targets ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(), "setDroppableTargets", "setDroppableTargets()", true);

But the javascript function is invoked before the controls are created eventhough i register the script at the end (after creating the controls) and i cross checked it by getting the elements with class name '.cssDockZone' and i getting it as 0.

Web Forms :: Access The Custom Headers Created With System.Net.Mail?

Sep 13, 2010

I've created some custom headers for my emails. I've used a breakpoint to see that they are being added to the collection correctly. I don't understand how to access these from the email that's generated though. I'm currently dropping the emails into a pickup directory on my local machine and viewing them with Windows Mail. I have "view all" headers checked in Windows mail but still don't see them when I open my emails in the pick up directory.

how to access the headers that I added? Below is an example of how I did it. I'm hoping to add things like name, address, phone... etc, and then have them visible in the email.

Is this even the correct use of custom headers?
