now the system always prompts a error message about insert duplicate key into Sybase database.how can i prompt a message box instead of this error message when i insert duplicate key into sybase database table. any code can check what type of error then prompt different alert message.

i am using an ImageButton with onClick Event above a profile on a footballer.
On Click event, a logged in user on the site can save the footballer to a Junction table called FavouriteFootballer that has
a GUID UserId and FootballerId GUID as Primary Keys.
The problems is I need to warn the user if they already have the Footballer Stored as a favourite in the database
(With a Label or MessageBox PopUp) and not sure how to with the code I have.

This query should not fetch duplicate contactID(i.e Same ContactID).but when i execute the query i get duplicated ContactID.I know it is a problem with Joins. Could anyone tell me what is wrong with my Query,

I am doing a data warehouse project.I have two tables tblA (id, type) and tblB(city, no_crimes, type).I want to create (insert) a number of rows based on the value of no_crimes.For Example, in tblB(Leeds, 2000, murder). View 3 RepliesI developed a web site more then a year ago with .net2.0/c#/mssql 2005. it works fine but i was asked to replace mssql with mysql.
I wrote a class to complete data access works (unfortunately, I didnt use nhibernate or other data access tools :((
I edited the class to use System.Data.Odbc objects rather than System.Data.SqlClient.
It works fine in selecting data but not manipulating data. when i try to insert new data it adds null data for all fields in the table.
in debug mode, i noticed that it might be caused by OdbcParameter but not sure.
I have code for inserting a record into the db, it works fine from the admin part of my website but when i put it on the customer side duplicate records are inserted into the db, any ideas? I cant for the life of me see why. I have just also noticed that when i add the claim the first time it adds the duplicate entry, if i press the button again it only adds the entry once, if i refresh the page add the info again, 2 entries, click add again 1 entry?

I have a DetailsView with several fields. On the same page, I have both LinkButton that enables to go in edit or insert mode for the DetailsView.
When I click on a button, linked code-behind is doing the following :

So I have two tables one that stores the catergory names and one that holds the paths to the photos and downloads the tables are related through the catergoryID.
What I need is those catergories to show up in the photo's and downloads table so that when I go to upload the photos I will be able to select the categories.
I have also built the DataSet and the Business Logic.

After this I have two entries with the same UserName in aspnet_Users table, but with different UserId's. One UserId is referenced in aspnet_Membership table and the other in the aspnet_UsersInRoles table.
I am using SQL Server2005 with asp.net. I want validation at server side to restrict duplicate entries, Here i am using two tables companies and Branches. In Branches Table i had maintain a foreign key of CompanyId. In Branches the BranchName can be duplicate but not for the Particular CompanyId
