View 1 RepliesMy web application has hosted on the canada server but my all clients are indians.So, as I am using System.datetime.Now to store all the dates in application.Obviously, it is displaying the canadian time instead of india time.How can i do it?Is there not any gloabl settings that we can do in our web.config file so that it indicates to the server at run time which time zone to execute..?Or any other suitable alternate?

View 2 RepliesI want to display the data in the format that is represented in the screenshot. All the data that is shown is retrieved from Sql Server-2005 Database. Which is the best option for such kind of data representation? I have read in the forums, from them I could not get a clear perspective. Some were suggesting listview others nested datagrid, some repeater control. which one would be a proper and accurate way to go forward ?? Along with some reasons (if possible). And I'm using visual studio 2008, .net Framework 3.5, asp.net with c# and I'm NOT using LINQ in my project and it is a web application. The same picture can also be found at [URL]

View 2 RepliesI have a page with a datalist on it. The datalist shows numerous rows with various data in each column, each showin in a textbox. I'd like the user to be able to select or not select each row (displayed in datalist), and then to click a button which would place all of the data in selected rows into one big label so that it can be printed or emailed.
View 3 RepliesI want to pass date from one page to another page using querystring. I have used a gridview hyperlinkfield.
When user click hyperlink in gridview the data should display on other page.
I have tried this but due to date format (dd/MM/yyyy) that is showing in gridview the hyperlink is not showing. I think '/' is creating problem. In gridview I already tried by replacing / to -.
I have a Table (in SQL Server) that is being updated roughly every minute or so with new records being inserted from various sources. The number of records inserted in this duration varies from a few records up to dozens of new records. I am using an update panel to rebind my data every minute to keep the GridView current. Now that I have the data refreshing I am looking for a better solution than reloading the data every minute. how to best keep my GridView up to date? Here is what I would like to accomplish:
1. Load the GridView and refresh the contents every minute. (60 second intervals)
2. When the GridView is refreshed every minute I would like to append only the new records to the existing grid, rather than bringing back the entire result set with each round trip to the database.
3. I would like a visual cue to identify the rows that have been inserted into the GridView. If new rows were to flash/flicker with a background color (yellow) that would be ideal.
Am I even using the correct control for displaying real time data, or are their other options? I essentially am looking to find the preferred method of displaying data that is being updated in real time in a web application. I'm hoping there is a solution involving AJAX but I haven't been able to find much on The Google. I am open to changing anything and everything about my approach -- this is largely a learning exercise. For testing purposes I am currently using LinqDataSource in conjunction with a GridView in an UpdatePanel being refreshed by a Timer control every 60 seconds. Informational: I have also started playing with the [URL] in place of the Timer control. However, for the purposes of this example I would be content to achieve the desired behavior using native controls as I have described them above.
I have a Transport Detaisl in DB , i want to dispay data on gridview with marquee scrolling up. Cabs are scheduled for drop every hour. View 3 RepliesI'm populating my dropdownlist control with data that is stored in database which is in time format.Data, after being populated into dropdownlist, looks like 13:09:49.5577199.I want to convert this into something like this - 01:09 PM.To convert date format in dropdownlist, we do it with dataTextFormatString="{0:dd MMMM}". But for converting time format, how to go about?
View 2 RepliesYou'd think since MS SQl Server 2008 and asp.net are both Microsoft products, asp.net would support the new "time" datatype but anyway.
This is one data field in gridview called "timesort"

I'm currently developing a system for booking of discussion room in a college. This system will allow the staff to help the students to make booking in advanced as well as for instant walk in usage.I've got a table to keep track of bookings, another for walk in and one for time slot.
For the time slot table, it includes start time slot and end time slot, which is 30 minutes interval for each.What i'm currently facing is that the system could not display the correct available time slot. I think it's the formula problem which I still can't get it solved.
Example:If the booking time is 8.30am - 9.00am, I have no problem showing the 1st slot as N/A.
But if the time is 8.45am - 9.15am, the system only update the 1st slot as N/A while the 2nd slot still remain as AVAILABLE which is wrong. Because since the time ends at 9.15, I would like the slot 9.00am - 9.30am to be N/A as well.
This would be my code:
[Code]....
I have total 21 time slot count in my table. And the arrCC113Availability is an ArrayList keeping track of the availability of each slot for that particular room.Is there any other formula which can cater for all the conditions?

I am trying to figure out the best way to dynamically map time retrieved from a stored procedure with the report headers. For example, if my ReportViewer Headers are the following:
[code].....
I am trying to find a way to have the data dynamically map on the page in the correct location. 7:15 should be placed below the 7 header and between the 15 and 30 numbers as an example. Does any know how this might be coded using tables in the ReportViewer?
I am having a DOB field in database of type Datetime.I am retrieving this into a gridview .I want to display only date into the gridview in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format and that to in sorting order. How can I do that. I know that by converting DOB to varchar and using SQL Date formats codes(103,105...) I can do that but I can't able to display in sorted order as it will check only the date part and sort the dates. It will not chk the month & year. And I also want the user to insert the date in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format and this to be stored in database. How can I do this? Pls respond me ASAP.

Response.Clear()
Response.Buffer = True
Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"
Response.BinaryWrite(oStream.ToArray())
Response.End()
That displays a crystal report in .pdf format. I works great except for follwing:
If I run the application from the web server I see an "envelope" icon on my .pdf screen which allows me to email the report. Another user, running the same application, does not see the "envelope" icon and there are no options to email.

View 5 RepliesHow to set the current system date inĀ ("dd/MM/yyyy") format under datetimepicker on the page_load method ..
View 1 RepliesI have several reports that I have published to a SQL 2008 report server with parameters that are dates (DateTime format). For these parameters, a calendar icon is displayed next to the textbox to allow users to select the date via mouse. Some of my reports are used by people overseas (England), where the date format is dd.mm.yy (instead of mm/dd/yyyy).
I went to the report properties, and changed the Language property from "un-US" to "en-GB". The affect of this is that all of the dates that are displayed on my report now show the date format of [dd.mm.yy] (which is good). However, the textbox where they specify the report parameter still shows the old mm/dd/yyyy format.
Can this be changed somehow? I have looked around, but could not find a setting that would apply to this. Or is this a client-side setting (in other words, when viewed overseas, it takes the "native" date format)?
