I am a c# asp.net developer and need to implement a number of flash website banners. Previously for static image banners I have implemented on_click code behind or javascript to log the banner has been clicked back to a database and process the re-direction.
I don't have much knowledge of flash other than I know that a flash program can handle on-click events of the program.
best solution for capturing and processing on-click events of a flash object on a webpage.

I am implementing an multilingual web site using ASP.Net. The languages are English,French and Arabic. Please note that Arabic's direction is RTL. What is the best way to implement the multilingual support. I am planning to use the .Net localization feature but the website texts are stored in DB. For the controls ( form controls) , I can used resx file. Do I need to build two different pages ( one for LTR and another for RTL )? Or can I have one ASPx file for all the three languages?
I would like to hear some best practices in implementing these kind of web applications.
I am in the process of creating a photo blog website for my photography. To outline my website, basically I want my homepage to be the blog where I'll upload a daily photograph. In addition to the photo blog, I want a number of static pages such as Contact, Biography, Galleries (here's where my question fits in...).
In the static galleries pages, what is my best option for creating galleries? Would I be better off coding it from the start in C# or embedding an HTML website that is creating from Adobe Lightroom? To give you an idea of what I want, take a look at my current website which is www.nigelivy.com. I would like to create a similar site in terms of look and feel, but the reason I am re-writing the site in ASP.NET is because I want to increase my functionality, I already have some knowledge of ASP.NET, and I have a Windows Server which is ready to host the site.
I am trying to implement a "send newsletter" process that works like this: -
1. The author develops a newsletter using Word.
2. When they are ready to distribute it, they save it as HTML, and upload this to the web site. It is then viewable with the appropriate URL.
3. They then distribute it with a web process that uses SendMail.
I have two problems: -
1. When you "Save as web page (*.htm, *.html)" from Word, the document is saved as .htm, and if there are any graphics within the document they are saved in a separate "*_files" folder. How do I upload this folder to the web site?
During testing I'm fudging this by uploading the folder with FTP, but of course this is not a viable solution for users.
2. I can send the email using alternate views, but the htmlview lacks the graphics. My logic reads the uploaded .htm document into a string variable called "HtmlBody", and then
code]....
This all works perfectly except that the email arrives just a graphic symbol and blank space where the graphic should be. How do I either send the graphics with the email, or (better) send it with references to the graphics back on the web page. The html that I am sending out contains references to the graphics like <v:imagedata src="./FamNet%201%20July%202010_files/image001.jpg" o:title="NZSGFamNet"/>, which is looking in a subfolder from the folder containing the html. I suppose that if I could solve the first problem I could replace the "./" in the image reference to [URL]. This would not be too difficult, as I could recognize "FamNet%201%20July%202010" as the newsletter name and so look for the string"./" & NewsletterName & "_files". However somebody might be able to suggest a more elegant solution, provided that I can solve the first problem.
I have a website consisting of an index.html, a number of style sheet files as well as some javascript files. Then I needed a way for this site to communicate efficiently with a Microsoft SQL Server, so I was recommended to use the MVC framework to facilitate that kind of communication. I created the C#.net controller code needed to output the necessary information from the database using URL parameters, so now I am trying to put the whole web-site together inside the MVC framework.
This is a general ASP.NET question. I have an asp.net site that is hosted on domain A. The site works fine and uses a session when user login. I have a new empty site on domain B (different server). I tried to load the same site on domain B by calling it in an HTML IFrame site load and works but it seems that user con not login, after some experiments I think his is related to the session not working. Can I run the site on an IFrame? Sessions should work?
Is it possible to retrieve/get the html source code of a certain website and use it in a ASP.NET web application to display them? (without using the copy-paste, of course)
I want my ASP.NET web application to use them as part of a code sample feature I currently working on.
For my Web Site I need store these codes belove, maybe others in future:
Google Analytic Code Some JavaScript codes HTML Footer and Header for my template.
I need a solution which could be centralized, use CACHE, easy to update:
01 Use a DATABASE with a Table (configure table) which for every records (VARCHAR) would allow storing of these spinets of code as string.
02 Use simple Text Files in a specific folder, so I can include these files in my code. I could update codes using FTP and NotePad (Here I am concern about cache).
03 Use Web.Conf file.
04 Use Text File and a Class wich would manage storing in cache the content of these file.
In the past I used Front Page 2002 to create web sites, I am now working with Expression Web 3 for the first time. I'm creating a DWT HTML format web site. My client wants the site to be for 'members' only. Can I incorpoirate ASP.NET into my site so I can insert login forms needed? My ISP supports ASP.NET.
I have a requirement to add a new asp.net functionality to an existing static html web site. Its about adding few text boxes and connecting to database and displaying information on the html web site.Is it possible to merge html and asp.net on a html web site?
I would like to know how the HTML source of ajax based sites can be read using HttpWebRequest / HttpWebResponse (That is reading the contents of a website at server side). The problem that I'm facing is that I'm unable to read parts of the webpage which uses Ajax or stuffs like UpdatePanel.
My application is in ASP.NET / C#, so can't think of using stuffs like Browser control or mshtml.dll since I would not be able to serve multiple requests.
