C# - How To Load A User Control Dynamically In A Webpage

Nov 29, 2010

How to load a user control dynamically in a page?

I have a page that contains radioButtons. Each click on a radio button loads a user control (.ascx) in the page.

What I am doing is loading all controls at the same time, but set their visibility to false. When a user clicks a radiobutton I set the visibility of the specific user control to true.

As a result I am loading all the user controls on each postback.

AJAX :: Update Progress Control Ie8 - Progress Indicator Does Not Hide?

Feb 16, 2010

I have a wierd issue with the update progress control in ie8. I have a modal popup that loads a pdf in an iframe, then i have a button click that navigates away from the pdf and shows a form in the same modal. All this is wrapped in an update panel, which i have an update progress control associated with. The control shows correctly in ie7, firefox, safari, and chrome. But in ie8 when the async post back is complete the progress indicator does not hide, until I click on the screen or scroll the page, then it hides and the form shows.

How To Use A SQL CLR Method To Call A Webpage

Jan 11, 2011

I have an asp.net mvc application that take a while to load on my production server. I would like to write a script to call my pages every 10 minutes to avoid the pages from being scrapped on the server, which would then cause the server to reload them.

I was thinking of using a SQL Server stored procedure to call my pages every 10 minutes to keep the pages alive.

I've read that I can do this using CLR, but I am not sure how. Does anyone have an example of how to call webpages in a SQL Stored Procedure using CLR?

C# - Make A Progress Bar That Updates The User On The Progress Of The AJAX Call?

Apr 14, 2010

I'm trying to make a progress bar that updates the user on the progress of the AJAX call.

My immediate thinking was that I need an AJAX call to start a thread on the server, allowing the starting AJAX call to finish, and allowing the thread to send updates back to the user.

For the purpose of simplicity, disregard the actual progress bar functionality (I was thinking of implementing one of those JS bars, with fancy colors and effects ;), but if I can get an update from the thread, then updating a simple JS progress bar becomes trivial ;) )

Logging - How To Log Each Method's Exection Time On A Webpage

Nov 24, 2010

I have a complex ASP.NET application and it's running since 2009.I need to monitor it's performance and determine which methods in which layers are time or resource consuming. Then I can optimize methods.

Right now, I'm using SQL Profiler to check the queries and I tune the database step by step. I want to do the same for other layers (UI, Service, and Repository).I've used Postsharp and Enterprise Library Policy Injection Application Block.

I've implemented some attributes and add them to some classes which get BeforeMethodEntry and AfterMethodEntry (AOP model) automatically. Therefore, I can get the execution time of each method. It also handles exception log and page view log.

But, I think there may be another implemented/standard solution to monitor the running application.

PS: I've implemented some other solution like implementing ExceptionHttpModule and PageViewHttpModule which don't need any Third Party libraries. It doesn't meet my requirements.

*In a simple words, I want to log and monitor layer's activities (specially mehod execution duration). *

C# - Unable To Load Webpage After Doing AJAX Request?

Sep 21, 2010

I have a page that does an AJAX request. This request can take a while to complete, sometimes over a minute. This is not an issue.

During the AJAX request I am unable to load any other pages on the website. This is the same for any web browser.

I understand that there are connection limits in the browser, IIS and ASP.NET - but all of them allow at least 2 connections.

I am using IIS7 and ASP.NET 4.0.

I have made some sample code that demonstrates the issue. The code is here: [URL]

See a video of the issue here: [URL] You can see in the video the 2nd tab that is opened does not return a page until the AJAX request is complete.
