Forms Data Controls :: Best Way To Display Employee Details From One Company?

Within my web application the users complete a application which stores all of their company details into a database, within the application their is a section to complete details for all of their employees.
The admin has the ability to view each company's application in full for reference, now I want to display the employee details on a sperate web page using the GridView control. Unfortunately when creating a datasource for the GridView I am unable to use a varible (currentCompanyId) to pass the employee's companys id into the query to display the correct employee's for the correct application.
Does anybody know another apporach to this? Or maybe there is a better way to do this altogether?

In E Folder all faculty images are stored with the name of each employee id.In E folder list of images as follows
1 ( 1 is the employee id is the image name for each faculty)
2 ( 2 is the employee id is the image name for each faculty)

I want to bind data(For ex: Employee name, Employee ID from Employee) to a dropdownlist and the data should be displayed in dropdownlist as two columns. I don't want to separate this columns by using any special characters like | or '-'. I want to display them as different columns in a dropdownlist.

I have a GridView with a select button. It get the data from a SQL database and everything is working fine. I'm new with ASP. I'm using a Data Set for the project. When the users select a row I need to show details of each row in a hidden panel with a table and labels to each field of the rows. The data of the details to show are in different tables. I already made the QUERIES with the JOIN to the different tables.
I was trying to fill the grid view with the specific query and fill the hidden panel at the same time so when the user click select the hidden panel appear with the data of the selected row. I put the hidden panel inside the grid view with a TemplateField and a ItemTemplate, but it doesn't work.

My problem is that i want to display details about author when someone selects an author from the same web form. should i create another web form containing the details and somehow try to redirect the user to that page. or the selectedIndex event should be used instead but how?

I have a gridview that displays the data of my database. What i want is a detailsview that gives me the details of the record i select in the gridview. Both the gridview and the detailsview are on one page. I use objectdatasources to get the data from the database. In the ObjectDataSource i select the gridview-control to get the selected value. But i get the following error: An object of type System.String can not be converted to DataTable. I also tried the following:
leaving the ODS control to none and passing the value via the protected sub ObjectDataSourceDetails_Selecting:
e.inputparameter("id") = gridview1.SelectedValue
The problem is this: when i click on select in the gridview, the data won't display any data in the detailsview.How could i solve this?

Am having a details view and grid view in a page. In details view I have one dropdown list with selected index changed.I have to take the values from database and bind it to the other fields in details view. I have Written the Query which is executing fine and fetching values(this one i have checked in SQLServer). But when i select any items in DDL, instead of binding it in DetailsView its getting binded to Grid view.

I have a method that retreives data from table and needs to display in details view. The method is give below: The problem I am facing is I did put some break points to figure out if all the lines are executed but the problem I am facing is that the compiler is not going in the while(reader.read()) loop(I have made to loop bold so that would be easy to locate) and hence unable to retreive data.

I have a details view that currently shows the positionID when displaying data in select mode. This corresponds with the way the stored procedure was written. I've decide I want to display the PositionName though. I want to know the best way to do this.
I know I can rewrite the procedure to pull the PositionName instead but I thought there might be another way of doing it. Rewriting the stored procedure to pull the name instead of the ID may be the best way to do this. I thought there was probably a way to cross reference the position Id with the name. If there is then it may be unnecessarily cumbersome and not worth doing.
I also want to be able to pass the id to the Details view when it is in edit mode so a drop down that lists the position names will start with the correct current value selected when in edit mode. This would prevent the value from being accidentally changed. I'm not sure if I rewrite the procedure to return the PositionName instead of the PositionID that it won't cause issues with me wanting the drop down in edit mode to start with the correct value by passing the PositionID. The Position is stored as an int for PositionID in the db.

I currently have 2 table in my SQL Server MisShip and MisShipDetails. MisShip holds the header level information such as MisShip ID (pk), Invoice Number, Date, Recevied By, Comments, Credit Received, Credit Amount, and Credit Memo. MisShipDetails hold the product level details including MisShip Details ID (pk), MisShip ID (fk), MisShipCode, UPC, Product Description, Qty Ordered, Qty Received, Unit Cost, and Amount to be Adjusted. There is a 1 to many relationship between MisShip and MisShipDetails. A particular misship can have many products that were misshipped. Our codes are used to determined reasons why a product would be considered MisShipped (did not receive, damaged, not billed on invoice, etc...)
I have fully functioning forms that my stores use to input the misship data. I am working on a corporate form that our Accounting can use to "close" out the misship when credit is received.
So my MisShip Credit Entry Form is a gridview which displays the header level info about the misship along with a calculation of the Total Amount to be Adjusted which is a formula based on the product details for the misship and the specific codes given to them. That's all working fine.
The question came up how the account person could know what misship codes are associated with a particular invoice. Obviously if I add that column to the SqlDataSource Select statement my misship records are duplicated in the gridview. Ultimately I just need a way to display the distinct codes that are in the MisShipDetails for a particular misship id (where misship_id=@misship_id and @misship_id is the selected row of the gridview?). I must be over thinking this somehow b/c I've tried several ways and can't get the data to do what I want.
What is the easiest way to acheive viewing this data associated to my existing gridview. I don't want to change things up too much b/c they've already approved the ease of use of my gridview, editting, along with it's interactive search capability to locate a particular invoice. But they want the ability to view the details behind it as well. I can post my gridview code if needed. I'm kind of a newbie at this stuff so code examples I can't seem to find the right search keywords to find website information to assist me...been looking for more than 6 hours now.

I have a gridview which is databound to a database. At runtime the gridview is populated with the information from the database. I also have a select hyperlinkfield column which basically has the select hyperlink in each row, when clicked it displays all the details of that entire row(this opens up on a different page).
What im looking for is when that select hyperlink is clicked a progress bar/progress gear with the word loading should appear for couple of seconds and then display all the details of that row selected which will appear on another page.

I have two tables: Book and author and they have one to many relation.One book may have more than one authors. Book table has Title column and Author table has AuthorName Column.
I have search page contains two textboxes: Title Textbox and AuthorName textbox to search the record.
When the user type something and hit the search button it display the Title when click the title ; it redirect to detailsPage.aspx Passing value ID.

Then in the Details page there are: Title, authors and other more from these table column.
My problem is:
When the user search and hit the search button, it display the number of matches Title only. I want to display authors related to this title in this page and other are same(when click the title go to detailspage.aspx)
How can I display the related Authors to each title in search display page (Not in details page, I know in details page) ?
If user search "The Letters and life" in the Title textbox and hit enter data should looks like:

I have on a page a gridview that can be filtered with one text box. I set up the gridview to show select and wanted to then connect a details view so that when you selected a row the entire details would show up. When I run it I get this error.
