I am creating a web app that using a DataList for display and editing purposes. A datareader is used to populate the DataList. I have the total number of records in the Datalist being displayed in the Footer. In the DataList, I have a checkbox. How can I iterate thru each record in the Datalist to get the number of checkboxes that are checked?
I have a repeater control and a text box, and likewise a button to post data to database.after i insert the data to the database in thwe click event of the button, the datalist will not update the displayed content. at the end of the button's click even, i added the code line:
But still, the datalist will not update automatically. What do I do next?
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="totalcount" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString %>" SelectCommand="SELECT COUNT ([CID]) FROM [WWAMembers] WHERE([CID] IS NOT NULL)"></asp:SqlDataSource>
how do I get the totals displayed with label or other control?
i added an independent sql count statement in the code behind and want to display the results of the count in a datalist. the query needs a the parameter value of "courseID" to work except i am having difficulty getting the value to string.
the error i'm getting is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." referencing: int index = Convert.ToInt32((sender as DataListItem).ToString());
sometimes learning asp.net feels so heavy handed compared to some of the general purpose scripting languages like php. for examples, all i want to do is create a sql connection that pulls a row count and displays that number. I don't need a grid, list, detail page, etc., nothing this heavy... a simply query that will display a simple bit of text. for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. Using these controls, I'm not in the code behind with the query, so I wouldn't attach this to a label (or would i), and there's nothing i see in the toolbox that does what i want. Perhaps i'm too accustomed to php but it feels like with asp.net, major things are simple, and simple things are hard.
I HAVE A GRID VIEW IN asp.net + VB Code. There is a drop down list and the selected data is displayed in web page. I placed a label in web page and code behind i used following code.
Protected Sub GridView1_DataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles GridView1.DataBound Label1.Text = GridView1.Rows.Count.ToString() Dim ONYO As Integer = 0 Dim DONE As Integer = 0 For i As Integer = 0 To GridView1.Rows.Count - 1 If GridView1.Rows(i).Cells(0).Text = "ON YO" Then
I have a delete button bellow my gridview and I want a pop up to show when no record is selected and tell the user to first select a record. The button click event would show the pop up, but my gridview data blanks out.
The problem is that i have a search page. Access Database holding the information. I have a Access Datasource on the page with a Datalist to show the data. I need to find a way on setting it up to says "Sorry no results found" when the is no results. i am unsure on how to do this though.
Am building a Form for out intranet that runs on ASP.NET and C#, it is to be a survey from a SQL database. I have the connections setup can pull informations/Questions from the database. I am having a problem with setting up radio buttons within a datalist, ive never done this and i know they require unque names.
It is to be 4 radio buttons per question where only one can be select, i know how to group just not via a datalist with unique names
