Forms Data Controls :: Equivalent Of A 2 Page GridView Side By Side?
Feb 1, 2011
I have a results set of 3 columns and aproximately 40 records. Instead of a Gridview with paging enabled or a GridView to where you need to scroll down the page to view all the data, I'd like to have two tables side by side.Is there and easy way to acomplish this?
how to show two asp:repeater side by side with same functionality.I have tried have copied same code with different method names but am not getting it only ten records by default its showing for second repeater and first repeater works well.
I'm trying to customize a ListView control to display like a GridView so that I can enable users to see and update multiple database records at a time.
In the ItemTemplate I've encased all the fields in divs with a style class that would give each div a set-width and left & right borders so that all fields would lineup like a column, however the divs display underneath each other rather than side by side. I tried nesting all the "field divs" in a <p></p> but this doesn't work.
I've spent much time Googling my question and haven't been able to find a clear answer. I'm teaching myself ASP.Net on my own with books and online tutorials and these materials have not shed much light on this particular issue either as of yet.
I Getting A Problem In DataGrid's ItemDataBound Event. I Am Calling A JavaScript Function In DataGrid's ItemDataBound Which Retrun The CellIndex And RowIndex Number On Which UserClick After That I Am Re-Binding The DataGrid With jQuery Function After That ItemDataBound Event Not Working. I Want To Call The Same Function Again. Is Their Any Method To Call A Server-Side Function On ItemDataBound Event Except Client-Side Function..
I want right side of the page contain panel bar..when press each item in the panelbar i want load aspx page on the right side of the page with out page refreshing.. because I am going to develop software...
Suppose I'm building a StackOverflow clone using webforms ASP.NET and jQuery. The Question page has a question, several answers, and comments under each. Requirements:Users can post new answers and comments, and edit existing ones, without postbacks. No UpdatePanels; the AJAX calls retrieve just the JSON they need, not HTML fragments. The page loads with all existing answers and comments in place (no javascript needs to run to read the page).
What I'm trying to figure out is how to do this without having to maintain two sets of markup (one that's bound on the client using some form of jQuery templating, and one that's bound on the server using traditional WebForms).
I have to implement the print functionality on aspx page like on click of print image icon user will be able to get the print out of aspx page .aspx page will contain the server controls like textboxes , Gridview etc which one approach will be the best server side or client side printing ?
I have some sql records, table has 3 columns as userID, name, city. I want to take the records with ; select name, city from where city='New York' it turns 5 or 6 records. I want to add them to a string side by side like string record="michael NewYork, marshall New York, liz New York, Forest New York";
(ASP.NET / C#) Beginner Level Client-side filtering. Begin typing an Item name in the filter box above the "Item" column (Grid View) a live filtering will take a place to filter the input letter till the user find what he/she is lookin for.[URL]c6786ACFRkcawodV3pBvg#adaptiveFilter)
If I enable client side validation in the view I'll get the error per the Attributes from the metadata class. If I take clientside validation out, error gets thrown from saving to the DB rather than return the view with an Error Summary.
This is the top portion of my view....
<% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <%: Html.ValidationSummary(true) %>
I've tried running without debugging (ctrl + f5) in debug and release mode as well as setting breakpoints and Debugging (f5) but it just seems weird to get Client side validation without server side validation. What am I missing here?
I want to have the page display something like this:
Col 1 | Col 2 Col 1 | Col 2 1 7 4 10 2 8 5 11 3 9 6 12
The purpose of course is that I have extra horizontal space with less vertical space. Obviously it doesn't take a rocket scientist to pull this off, but I feel like I might be missing a cleaner/easier solution than my own, perhaps using CSS or clever use of an existing ASP.NET control. It seems like a common enough requirement, but I can't quite get the search terms right to find what I'm looking for.
I have a list of items on an ASP.net page. That list is selectable in that whenever the user clicks on one, the page does a postback and the server code stores the index or some unique identifier of the picture in a ViewState property indicating that it is currently selected.
I would like to minimize the load on the server and therefore I would like to store the index or unique identifier representing the image in some way on the client side. The best way I can think to do this is to store said information in a hidden field ), however I had two questions about this before I go crazy:
Is this a security risk in any way, shape or form (i.e., exposing implementation details of the page)? Is there a better/best way to do this that is more industry-standard? Does ASP.net provide a framework to do this that is cleaner than my idea? Seems like this would be a fairly common requirement to me...
I am trying to implement server side paging with gridview using coding by DAL and BOL concept.But the Problem is with the Gridview page index.As the No of rows retrived are equal to page size and hence I am not able to genearate pager information .I cannot use object data source as i have 2 generate this on some event by passing some arguments like button clickPlease let me know how can i resolve it.Can i use datapager,Or do i need 2 create custom hyperlinks or any alternative to display gridview page index.
I have a list box (that uses a SQlDataSource) that has a list of jobs. I have a grid view (that also uses a SQLDataSource) that has the items used in each job. I want to bind the list box value to the gridview on the client side, i.e. when the user clicks on a different job in the list view I want the grid to show the items for that job.
Also, at formload I want the gridview to show the details of the first job on the listview.
I've a GridView bound to an object data source which gets data from a remote server. The GridView is inside an AJAX UpdatePanel. For each GridView row, I have a status data item for a person's status(like busy, free, etc.) and I need to show a running timer since a person has been in the current status. Different persons can be in different status at different times and so running timer for each person needs to be different and should be reset when a person changes status. Is it possible to show such a running timer for a cell in each row of a GridView and manipulate it differently i.e. start, stop and reset each instance individually?
I am looking for a method to format gridview bound data using javascript.
I know you can have custom formating in Eval using:
[Code]....
But I am looking for a way to perform this task on client side, rather than doing it on the server.
For example if I want to format a date field being bound in a custom way, something like emails date received in gmail. (Only show time if it is today's date [15:30] and only show day and month if it is this year date [14 Jan] and show the full date if it is not this year [10/10/2009].
So, how I use javascript to format a field (ie. custom date format or setting a control visibility)?
I have 2 gridviews in an aspx file. The First one is master grid, and the second one is detail grid. (such as Customer and it's Invoices) First, I load data into master grid. I use FireBug and notice that every row has it's row id, such as:
Then, in master grid, I select a buttonfiled in a row to load the second gridview.Every thing alright, the second grid has it's row id But The master grid lost all row id that I dont know the reason why?
