I am trying to use Matt Dotson FrozenGrid View [http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mattdotson/archive/2006/03/02/542613.aspx] in Master/Content page but the header of the gridview doesn't get fixed. I tried putting gridview inside the panel and but no luck.

Second, it also failed when I switch to another page. I have read through a lot of post but cannot find the answer I'm looking for. I'm using expression web 4 and asp.net 4.0 gridview to show database search results. The search works fine but the phone number mask from the database is not coming over in the results. I have tried some examples with the database, if I remove the mask on the column in the table and manually type in the phone number (###) ###-####, it works in the results.
If I keep the mask in the database, the results are just ########## in a row. I have also tried to use the datastring under edit colums with
{0:(###) ###-####} in the box with no luck. I have the HTML encode to False and the HTML format string set to true. I still get just the straight line of numbers for the results.
The database is a Access 2007 template and I'm actually using Access 2010.
i have a grid view with some coulmns like Name,Phone no etc with Edit,Delete column in grid view. I click a row in grid view to Edit,it goes another page where i can edit all fields .Once i update i redirect the page to gridview. I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.

I've dragged in the datasource to the content page, and configured the formview to use that datasource... almost.
The issue I'm having is that on the last step of the configure datasource wizard where you select the parameters, I want to select the master page textbox control for the search parameter... but of course it's not available in the list. The list only allows me to choose controls from the content page.
How do I set this master page search box as the parameter for my datasource?
I want to include view content page in my master page: My MVC application Left Menu MainPage. The Left Menu and Main page are two contentHolders in the master page. How can I add the Left Menu (View content page) to my Master page?. The Left Menu page is going to be a permanent page. The Content in the main Page is going to change. Left Menu content needs to be the permanent content for all other pages.

I have a gv which displays all foreign keys as hyperlinks. These links point to another page which show a gv for that particular table. When I click the hyperlink it will navigate to the correct url, display the gridview, and select the correct record, but.... the grid view will always initially display the first page whereas I would like it to go straight to the gv page of the selected row. How can i effeciently determine which page the record is on so that I can navigate straight to that page?

Im making a Master details web page ASP.NET. I have one aspx page with all the items in a listview, then a link to another page to show the details view, but I dont want to use a asp:detailsview control becasue it generates a table, and I want a more complex layout. I want work each property of the item, but I dont know how. I want to do in LINQ. Have a GridView with a templated select button hidden and using

When user like to update the datasource he will select one row from gridview then in selected indexchanged event i would display the selected row values beneath the form under the grid , Then user will update the contents displayed from grid and click an update button which is outside the grid . After updating the displayed row , i got to get the values of the next row in the grid and display them for next updation , i'e if users maually selects row 3 from grid then he can update the values using the update button and then on update click itself i'll have to display next row contents of row 4 and this process could go on .

I've been working with ListView for a long time, but I haven't been using it's built-in events so far. Now I was trying and was stuck. Until I moved both LinqDataSource and ListView to another page, without a master page.
Then it worked. Same happened with GridView as well.
I do not use Update Panel. Just master page. And if I use manual methods for edit, insert, delete then it doesn't fire OnItemCommand.
Is there a known uncompatibility with databound controls and master pages? Because I couldn't find anything about it on Google.
