Forms Data Controls :: Get Value Of Dropdownlist Selectedvalue - Created Dynamically Inside Gridview
Jun 12, 2010
I am having Gridview ie : inside i have placeholder, So on Gridview_RowDataBound - according the Specific Condition getting from DB then - i am Creating the Dropdownlist dynamically here and assign Datasource. so up to this its ok. My Problem When the user Select any value on the Dropdownlist on Gridview ,
i have one button outside the Gridview so if i click the button i am want to get the dropdownlist selectedValue so on the Button_Click Event
i used foreach row in the Gridview.. but i do no how to get the value. as the Dropdownlist is create dynamically on Gridview_RowDatabound event. but here what i have to write to get the dropdownlist?
I need to create a TemplateField column dynamically , which will contain dropdowlist controls. I've been using this example to create my first dynamic columns and for the last column, the one that contains dropdowlist controls, I've written this class:
[Code]....
But what I don't know is, where should I populate the dropdownlist control?
I have a form that's being databound with a SQLDataAdapter. I have a DropDownList with a SelectedValue='<%# Bind("FieldName")%>' on it. I was wondering if there was a way I could remove this field and set it dynamically in the codebehind and still have it insert the value of this field with the SQLDataAdapter. The reason for this is because the control I'm using doesn't have a separate InsertItemTemplate, only an EditItemTemplate which serves both purposes, and I need this to dropdownlist to only be databound on Insert.
Right now it's looking like I'll have to stop using the SQLDataAdapter and Update/Insert the data in the codebehind, but I wanted to see if there was something I was missing just-in-case.
I have a gridview which contains a templatefield. Inside this is an ImageButton and a dropdownlist. This is all created in the aspx page, although the ddl list items are populated in the RowDataBound event in the vb page. When i change the selected item in the drop down list and hit the imagebutton, the selected item is not maintained after postback. Instead the first record is displayed in the dropdownlist. I have wrapped an If Not Page.IsPostback around the datasource and databind's but this doesn't help. I have tried enabling viewstate in all areas on the page too, but still nothing. The list items for the ddl must be created on RowDataBound also. As far as I am aware, my ddl is not really dynamic, its just the list items which I add in the code behind which are classed as dynamic.
I have a dropdownlist in DetailsView to which items are added programmatically during DataBound event. It is working fine in InsertItemTemplate, but in EditItemTemplate i am getting this error "'branchDDL' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items. Parameter name: value".
I have Gridview inside that i have RadioButtonList,Which is working perfectly. It also bind correctly.
Problem is when user navigate page,the value which was slected in previous page is not apper again.
Gridview is enabled with paging.
I want to save data on SUBMIT button which is outside gridview. So when user clicks this button it should get ALL selectedvalue of radiobuttonlist inside gridview INCLUDING paging and save it to database.
I have tried following code on Button_Click but its not working properly.
I have a dropdownlist whose values are int (actually they are string basically but they can be parsed. they are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.. etc)
I want to create textboxes acording to the number of dropdownlist selected value. Lets say drop down shows 3 and I wanna create 3 textboxes. how can I do that.
I have a dropdownlist in EditItemTemplate and InsertItemTemplate which I want it to populate at the runtime while Inserting an item or Editing an item.
I am facing an issue regarding populating a dropdownlist dynamically while in Edit and Insert mode. There are 0 Records in my table and it shows "Empty Data message" in my Listview control. Even the ItemDataBound event does not fire. So I am not able to find the dropdownlist in that listview.
This is my Aspx code which shows only InsertItemTemplate and EditItemTemplate.
I have a page that I am creating 5 separate GridViews on, depending on the button the user clicks, a different GridView will show up. On a few of the GridView's there is a need for paging, so in the CodeBehind I did the following billingGridView.ID = "BillingGridView"
I have created one user control in which I have taken a gridview. Columns of this gridview are getting generated dynamically. (i.e. I read Column name from Xml file) But now I want my first coloumn of this gridview as a checkbox field.
I want to create a gridview with the first column being the Job Number and then a variable number of subsequent column which are fordates. This grid is a data entry for hours worked on a particular date for a particular job. I wrote the code to get the correct number of columns and column headers but I am having trouble getting textboxes into the grid cells.
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { #region constants
I have a menu. I use the menu's menuitemclick event to create a gridview (several actually) that is then added to a panel for display.The gridview paints perfectly until I try to add paging.I have successfully used paging and sorting declaratively for years, but this is my first attempt to do everything in code.When the gridview tries to databind, it throws an error:
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.get_StateFormatter() +25 System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.BuildCallbackArgument(Int32 pageIndex) +56
I have an UpdatePanel with a GridView. This GridView has a template column that is a DropDownList. The problem is that the SelectedIndexChanged event does not fire for the DropDownList. Here is the code:
HyperLinkColum hlc = new HyperLinkColum(); hlc.Datatext.DataTextField = "PK"; myGridView.Colums.Add(hlc);
I wanted to call a page say "test.aspx" and to send the primary key of the relevant row to the "test.aspx" page and then how to retrieve this values in the "test.aspx" page
I am dynamically generating the Row in GridView and saving the data in database using StringCollection. Instead of using StringCollection i want to pass the data(user entered data) to local variable , eg:
string name = txtFName; and so on. but it wont work for dynamically created rows.
So if you knw how to assign the user provided data in the local variable like above i have show.
The code for inserting the records for dynamic created rows in grid view via StringCollection is below
protected void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int rowIndex = 0; StringCollection sc = new StringCollection();
I've got a set of cascading dropdowns, but I want the default selectedvalue to be there when when page loads though.Right now, my dropdownlist is defaulting to the first value in the DDL. (ASP.NET C#) and the code (issue is with the "DDL_Assignment" dropdown).
i created a gridview with two columns and 8 rows dynamically. All the rows are empty and editable at runtime. I am giving column names for this grid from some other .aspx page by passing column names using querystring.Because i am using this grid for three different pairs of column names. i would like to know how to apply Required Field Validator, Regular Expression Validator and Range Validator on Gridview textboxes. So that by using those validators i want to validate user inputs. And i would also like to know how to add rows at runtime for this grid.
I am using ASP.net 2.0 and C#.net for this.(Visual Studio 2005)
I have a grid view that is dynamically created.In which every cell in the girdview has a 2 textbox (cTxtboxQty,ctxtWorkOrder) and 2 label.
When user click on the cell, a pop up come out and user are able to change the text inside the cell and click save.After that the pop up close and changed data immediately reflected on the screen.
My problem is:
After my data are changed and updated to database on the pop up page and having it post back to the parent page , my dynamically created textbox in gridview retain old value even new value has been assigned to it.
This sound very weird but i have no idea how to solve this.
My client side code is as below :
[Code]....
[Code]....
[Code]....
[Code]....
I have tested many times and find out that it might be the page hold the old value in memory, so that even we have updated the textbox value, after postback, it still keep and show the old value?
my folowwing code is generating error - selectedItem does not of string type. Basically i am unable to insert values through dropdownlist genrated dynamically.

My page has a gridview, and the gridview has a TemplateField called "Acciones" (Actions). The column Acciones has a ImageButton with CommandName "Select" and CommandArgument "Tutor". Thus, the GridView has controlled event "SelectedIndexChanged". The idea is that in GV_SelectedIndexChanged, I must to set DropDownList's SelectedValue property. But, the value seted in this function don't affect the rendered dropdownlist. The debugger talk's that the value is correctly seted, but the visual result don't.
i want to display selectedvalu on dropdonwlist i have a access table like this;1 Adana2 Ankaraits displaying the numbers of cities but i want to display name of the cities in my gridview how can i fix that ? im using theese codes for register page;
string baglan =DugunSitemiz.Properties.Settings.Default.baglan; OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(baglan); conn.Open();
I'm populating a dropdownlist in a formview with a different datasource from the formview's. I need to set the selected value according to the value in the formview's datasource but I'm having a hard time doing that.
Here's the code: <asp:FormView ID="FormView1" runat="server" DataKeyNames="ID" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1"> <EditItemTemplate> [code]....
