iam using grid view.i am using in it one templete filed like image button.i want when i click on image.the id which i want to pass passes and new pop up window is open and shows details....can i use Row databound or RowCreated which is better to setting onclick event on each image...if i would success on this i get associate id,s of each row.

However, the original data is still saved. If they are replacing the current data with new data, that works fine and updates/saves correctly. I have on a page a gridview that can be filtered with one text box. I set up the gridview to show select and wanted to then connect a details view so that when you selected a row the entire details would show up. When I run it I get this error. Data keys must be specified on GridView 'GridView1' before the selected data keys can be retrieved. Use the DataKeyNames property to specify data keys.

i have a grid view with some coulmns like Name,Phone no etc with Edit,Delete column in grid view. I click a row in grid view to Edit,it goes another page where i can edit all fields .Once i update i redirect the page to gridview. I am doing a online web application whereby user is able to enter in new template as well as search for template. The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. However when I click on the Add Template button, the grid view does not appear.

View 4 RepliesI'm trying to get a record to show up in a details view as part of a Master Details. I was able to get this to work by setting the visibility to true for the Details View in the Page Load event. I now want the details view to show up when the Select button is clicked in the GridView's template field using the onClick event for the button. I don't seem to be assigning the correct properties to get this to work though. what property I should use with this? I know I have to get it from the GridView and assign it to the details but haven't gotten it to work. this is the GridView:

Upon selecting an employee, I'd like to open a new page or window that would display all of the information for that employee with the option to edit/delete/update. I have a screen where on filter icon click on a column i need to show a popup screen or a div looks like popup and in which will have list of check boxes with distinct values of all rows of column one (i.e. the data of popup is like below). All these check boxes are dynamically generated controls.

When user like to update the datasource he will select one row from gridview then in selected indexchanged event i would display the selected row values beneath the form under the grid , Then user will update the contents displayed from grid and click an update button which is outside the grid . After updating the displayed row , i got to get the values of the next row in the grid and display them for next updation , i'e if users maually selects row 3 from grid then he can update the values using the update button and then on update click itself i'll have to display next row contents of row 4 and this process could go on .
