I have a gridview pulling all data from one user. This gridview has an edit button and when that is clicked the gridview becomes too wide for the div/screen and I get a scroll bar. Since this gridview can only have one user in it anyway is it possible to display each field on seperate lines instead?
View 9 RepliesI ahve displayed a group of data in my gridvew with the edit option linkbutton template field for each row. The gridview columns consist of employee name and projectname and total hours field employee worked.
So in this when i click the edit button using the datakeynames alue for project name id and employee id ,i have to redirect the page to another page with the values in the grid for the particular employee.so that i can update the totalhours field in the redirected page.and if i press the update button in that page then the page should be redirected to the gridview page with the updated value for the particular employee and project. The page which should be redirected consist of project name dropdownlist, module field,date field and total hours field. No employee name field.
Using the gridview rowdatabound field i have postbacked the url page with the project name id but it does not displays the project in the redirected page.And employee name i have to redirect with the session value i think?
I have a GridView in an update panel that is bound (in code-behind) to a business layer object. The first time this page is accessed, Editing, Deleting, Updating, etc. work fine. However, if I click my browser's refresh button, the functionality of the edit, delete, etc link buttons is gone. They do nothing.

I have a Gridview with edit/delete button & in row data one field is a month value.
I want the edit/delete button in that row to disappear if the month in the row is past month.
How could I do this ? I have set the label1.text = current month but I do not know how to set the edit/delete button to be visible/invisible on the condition of the data in the row.

View 1 RepliesI finally got membership and roles setup and seems to be working. I have setup a page to allow the creation of a user and editing of roles for a user. I would like to setup a page with a gridview that displays all users and what roles they are assigned. I remember running across someone else that was looking to do the same thing, but cant find it. Not sure if it was in this forum or online somewhere else.
But i found that i can use the aspnet_Membership_GetAllUsers procedure in my db to get all the users, but how can i add the roles to each person and possibly setup the gridview so that each role they have, is displayed on their row in the gridview So i would like to see something like this maybe more data displayed depending on the client request.

The X indicating a checkbox.. and have it setup so they can uncheck the role, that triggers the update and causes the list to refresh and display the new current roles for the individual users. The procedure listed about does not return the roles, so wasnt sure if i could use that procedure and union it with another to get the combined results im looking for.

This is probably something very simple that I've over looked, but I have a template field in a details view. In the field there is a html <p> tag that is bound to a database field. The database field is set to nvarchar(max) and will usually be very long. When the text is loaded into the <p> tag, it is not wrapped and does not go onto a new line when it reaches the edge of the screen.
View 1 RepliesI have a nested gridview dynamically added. It seems I resolved all issues with the loading this control on a parent page along with other controls and I can trigger the edit of the first level - the master part of the gridview. However, I cannot trigger the edit on a child gridview.

The master and the child gridviews have objectdatasources in a markup but I have to do the additional data binding after the loading the control on the parent page (see the code below). I'm doing that additional data binding only for the master gridview that is working fine and shows the data for the master and the child gridviews. When I click the Edit button on the master gridview it shows text boxes for the editing but when I click the Edit button on the child gridview it's doing nothing and moreover the editing mode for the master gridview is going back to the initial stage (labels).

I have a gridview which has editable columns.
The gridview lives in a formview, which lives in another formview.
Inside one column is an end date. This column has a textbox which gets it's value when I choose a date from a calendar control. However, when I choose a date from the calendar control, the program crashes instead of populating the text box.

When the editing is done, the user clicks on "Update" and the changes are written into the database. Additionally i set a "ChangeMarker" in the database that the data record has been changed by the user.

I have a gridview control. I am not using any templatefields or boundfields. The data will be populated dynamically. I am using RowEditing, RowUpdating and RowCancelingEdit events. In RowEditing event, as we know all the cells in that row will become editable, i need to disable few columns(Cells) from editing.

i am making an application using a datagridview... And I am very new to it. And I need to edit my datas in gridview using a dropdown list.
So this is the flow of the program. As the page load, my gridview will appear, with the datas from the database binded to it, so far I have done that already. I have a gridview which I use to edit text fields. How is it possible to start a new paragraph when entering text? I'm hoping that this can be done without using markup, as the users are not neccessarily going to be particularly computer literate.

In vs2008 and sql2005, I want to edit gridview..
In edit template I want a dropdownlist that must show that row's cell's value as the first value and remaing values should come down in the dropdown.
I'm using a simple search with a gridview. What is happening is when I click to edit the record, it presents me with the record fine but when I click Update in my FormView, the Gridview doesn't update. I have a feeling I'm missing something simple but I can't get totally sure so here is my code hoping someone can point the way.
