i have got grid view with 4 coloums which contains 2 dropdown list. n i have 2 drop down list out side the gridview .
i want to change the index of the 1st coloum dropdown list inside the gridview when changing the drop down list index outside using javascript
similarly the when the 2nd dropdown list(out side ) index change the 2nd coloumn dropdown list in gridview should change.
In short the outside placed dropdown list should act as master dropdown list.

i have two dropdownlist, second dropdown populates based on value selected in first dropdown.
Parentdropdown is working fine and second dropdown is also popualting correctly. But when i select value from second dropdown and click on submit button it resets to first value i.e though i have chosen 3rd value from dropdown it resets to first value.This happens when autopostback is not thr.
If for the same case ifi do autopostback=true. It chnages to first value automatically . then it odesnot require submitbutton click as well.
In both cases selected index is not getting set for second dropdown.

I am developing page for maintaing employee record using Visual Studio 2008, MS SQL server 2005. I am able to fetch and display all the employee information in gridview, the gridview have the dropdown list to display the employee type [ Part Time, Full Time, Permanent , Contract ], in the item template i am having dropdown list. IN the dropdown list i am displaying this. But While saving the record in gridview the droppdown selected index are changed to 0 of other dropdown list.
the user may be change the dropdown value from permanent to contract, or so. but while click on the save button in gridview, all the previous selection are gone, and always showing the first record of dropdown list. I know this is happening because we are doing dropdown list bind on onRowDataBound.

I am using grid view with row "data bound event" at row row data bound i am using some function with loops to fill drop down of grid view in template columns. grid view gets populated with selected index change event of drop down. my problem is the asp.net page is getting slower i mean when grid populates its taking some time and some time page get hanged what to do to get rid of it?

I have a drop down menu that is populated on page load. Below that, I have a gridview that has a select parameter based on that drop down menu's value. I can't get the gridview to populate with data based on the drop down. If I fill in the parameter with a constant, the data pulls fine, but when I switch the parameter to a form parameter, it won't pull.

I have two control page in my aspx page. first one left side "tree view",second one right side " form design".Form design will change based on tree view selected index changed.i have 4 level child node(site, master , slave, space). I have seperate forms to each level of node.
cannot update tree node when update the forms. so i reload tree view.
now i need how to auto selected index change to tree node.
ex.
1 parent node
1.1 child node
1.2 child node
i have update "1.2 child node" rename to "1.3 child node"
and reload treeview so it will chage...
how set tree node.selected index = 1.3 child node....

I am having a label to show success message during the successfully save.
I am having a drop down with the name "Technology".
During on selected index change event of the drop down, i am binding another drop down with the name "Resources".
When the Button is clicked, i am showing the "success message" and on click event of the drop down, i am clearing the message by using the java script.

I have a gridview that receives data based on selection from a primary dropdownlist object. Works.
Within the gridview, there is a dropdownlist whose selected index is based on the query from the primary dropdownlist. Works.
Problem.
How do I force the used to change whatever value that the dropdownlist contains after they make their initial selection from the primary dropdownlist; except the default value of "make a selection".
Gridview, contains a checkbox which drives whether a selected row is inserted into the data base. The databind in done using an ObjectDataSource on the presentation page, not in the code behind.

i am using data gridview asp.net control and i bind it dynamically, gird displayed 80,000 thousands records so i am using paging techniques,on each page gird display 10 record so when i am change page each time gird should filled 80.000 thousands records so how could i bind gird from pageIndex,pageSize rather than bind it whole records

i have a dropdown with month names if the user has data for the month tht is selected then gridview displays the rows with day nos as per the month but if the gridview has no data for the same the dropdown or gridview via some event should call a insert procedure to insert data into the table for tht month with daynos ad rebind the gridview witht the rows just created

I have a dropdown binded with database value Eg : A001, A002, A003 etc. When ever i use to select the first value A001 , it is not going for postback. After selecting the second index value A002 n then selecting the first value A001 , i use to post back. And i dnt want to use appent data bound here.
