Apr 7, 2014I have this interface of multilevel grid built in VStudio 2010 using asp.net.My grid will show the 2nd level then the 3rd (2nd grid as its parent) when plus signs are clicked. however the parent gridview loses its original width when the panel shows up. Is there a way to maintain its width so the design will be as is. Dec 5, 2013In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign.  The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.

What Is The Best Way To Display A Hierarchy Of Choices In A Forms Application
Sep 13, 2010I am working on an ASP.net Forms Application that keeps track of information about different offices in an organization. The offices are organized into a hierarchy.
Some users of the program will have access to certain information about all offices in the hierarchy. Some users of the program will have access to only a small part of the hierarchy.
When a user browses for information they are authorized to see, I would like to present the user with a prompt to choose which office in the hierarchy they wish to see information from.
I want to accomplish the following:
A) I want the user to be able to easily navigate the hierarchy of the organization to locate a specific office.
B) I want the user to be able to navigate the hierarchy without refreshing the page.
C) I want my interface to be able to handle a hierarchy at least four layers deep with less than 100 nodes.
I see that Microsoft includes a TreeView control in the standard collection of ASP web controls.
Multilevel Nested Product Categories Display With C# And Sql Server?

cat_id (PK)
Cat_name
Cat_desc
Parent_Cat_Id
Now when a user wants to add a product he should be able to select multiple categories from a listbox(multiselection enabaled). But to let the user know the hierarchy of the categories, I need to display them in the following style:
parent category 1
parent category 1->sub category 1
parent category 1->sub category 1->sub-sub category 1
parent category 1->sub category 1->sub-sub category 2
parent category 1->sub category 2
Parent category 2.........
I know that to achieve this I need to use recursive programming. But how can we do it via stored procedures?

Mar 18, 2010I'm using a custom sqlsitemapprovider to get my site hierarchy out of the database and display my navigation. Now, I have the following main (parent) nodes:
Home - Products - News. What I want to achieve is this, suppose you click on products then a subnavigation appears like this:
productGroup1,productGroup2, productGroup3.
But when you click products, no selection was made from the subnavigation, how would I achieve that if someone clicks on products, the
first product with content from the first productGroup1 shows up?
To visualize this: I click on Products -> Subnavigaton gets rendered -> PG1 - PG2 - PG3 -> page displays product1 of PG1
Is there as build in manner to accomplish this or how would one create a method to make this work?
P.S.:For my navigation, I'm not using any build in navigation controls, I'm rendering my menu as an html unordered list e.g: <ul><li></li></ul>

I also attempted to use a strongly typed master page, but like all controls, the ScriptManager is protected and thus inaccessible from the content page. How can I access the ScriptManager?

However, I can only figure out how to display the images but am clueless about the other type of files. What adjustments do I need to make so that with a button click I can access the other files? 't By the way, I'm using an image control to display the binary data and I'm aware that that will only work to display images, I just don't how to access all the other types of files once uploaded.

I'm trying to display data from this table in a gridview using template fields. Here's an example of a label in my item template

When i bind data to this grid view, i get an error saying column "PM 2" was not found. For some reason, the program is dropping the .5 from the column name. I am exploring the possibility of replacing the number with alphabets only but this may not be possible as the end user may not find it user friendly. Is there a way for me to get around this problem? I get a similar problem with B(a)p, it drops everything after the B. Any ideas on how to get the gridview to bind column names with special chars in it?
