Forms Data Controls :: Listview: How To Get The Background Colour Changed Based On A Boolean Value In A Table
Sep 17, 2010
I come across the technique on how to apply a different CSS class to make a row stand out from the others. However, the original code is for gridview whilst I am trying to get it works on a listview. The original code for the gridview is as follows and how to get it done on listview.
I have a database table containing scripts for plays/dramas. The scripts can be categorized under 'Theatre and Education', 'Plays for Young People' or both (by using bools to determine whether they belong to said categories);
scriptID: int theatreAndEducation:bit playsForYoungPeople: bit[code]....
I have a grid view that displays some diary data that consists of a date, a diary entry and a diary entry type (eg holiday, info, meeting..)How can I change the background colour of a row depending on the diary entry type.So for example if the type is 'holiday' colour the row yellow, if its 'meeting' colour it red etc etc
if a cell background colour is dark (not just black, could be many shades of grey) and then change the cell font to a lighter colour so as to contrast the background colour and make the text easier to read?
Is it possible to assign a colour to a drop down list item based on it's value?For example: I have a drop downlist where I've got a bunch of items that have integer
values. I would like to highlight the items with values in 1000s in grey.
I've boldified the items I'd like to be highlighted in grey ,For added complexity I need to highlight the items with values 1000 in a light shade of gray and items with values 2000 in a darker shade of grey. I'm using Web Developer, and C#
So I have an <asp:Gridview> and in my C# file, I am setting the datasource to some database table, and doing .DataBind().
However, I want to hide a column in the table based on a Boolean variable.
Something like this:
gridview.Columns['Field5'].Visible = false;
Or perhaps:
int c = gridview.Rows.Count(); for(int i = 0; i < c; i++){ gridview.Rows['Field5'].Remove(); }
Perhaps I cannot make it invisible, but I'm sure I can at least loop through and remove all rows related to the column "field5". I don't know how to go about doing this.
Does anyone perhaps have a proper link to using the GridView Class and how all the methods are suppose to be used because it's not clear, perhaps not written by microsoft?
the internet seems to lack a lot of C# documentation (or maybe it's just cluttered with too much useless ASP.net information).
I know that variations of this same question have been posed numerous times - but I can't quite seem to find the exact solution.
I would like any row in my gridview where the boolean field "Approved" is True to be shaded gray. Here is the code that I'm using, but every row ends up being gray, regardless of the value in that "Approved" field. My guess is that I'm not correctly evaluating the boolean value in this field (which is actually a yes/no field in MS Access), Not sure if I should be reading that value as "-1", "Yes" or "True" or "NotNull"? Anyway, here is the code:
I have a datagrid control, the first column is Revno, currently presenting info in linkbutton. i want to do a condition based on another field docid, which gets true or false value from database. if true then present Revno in linkbutton otherwise show the revbnno just as a label., thatway users does'nt have ability to clickit.
<ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lblRevision" runat="server" CssClass="Textboxes" Text='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "RevNo")%>' CommandName="FileDownloadRecord"></asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> this docid field has flag true or false. if true meaning show the revno as LinkButton, otherwise show the revno as label. GetDocdetail(DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Docid") on the codebehind side i can use this function. Public Function GetDocdetail(ByVal DocID As boolean) As String If DocID = "true" Then Else End If End Function
I am simply trying to change the listView template based on a value in the listview data. I do have this displaying the information correctly. Except when I try to change the item template based on a value in the listview. My code is below ....
I have defined some binary bit columns in an SQL database table to indicate yes/no conditions, but I don't know how to set or reset them. I tried to use "profile.Volunteer = 0;" C# code in an event handler to reset a voluntary state for the Profile table of members, but what I got back was an error message that said, "Constant value '0' cannot be converted to a bool'. So, if a '0' cannot be used to reset a boolean value, what can be used?
I want to change the background color of a row when the user selects an item in the ListView. Also, when something is already selected previously, the previously select row reverts back to the default background color. how I can acheive this?
I have implemented master pages using this example How to implement a status bar in an ASP.NET application?. I have a property on my SiteMaster.cs inherited MasterPage called Environment. On my MasterPage.master I have this code:
<body> <form id="frmMaster" runat="server"> <.. some content removed for brevity ...> Environment: <%= this.Environment %> </form> </body>
What I would like to do is evaluate this.Environment and if it is "LIVE" then colour the background of this.Environment text red, and if it's "TEST" colour it yellow. How would I do this?
UPDATE I've just added this code to MasterPage.master
The page loads, but the text does not get set, it's blank! Also the old text, that was populated is now blank too (I left the old code there for now). I also get a warning in Visual Studio:
'ASP.masterpage_master.Page_Load(object, System.EventArgs)' hides inherited member SiteMaster.Page_Load(object, System.EventArgs)'. Use the new keyword if hiding was intended.
UPDATE2: This is what I have in SiteMaster.cs
using System; using System.Web.UI; public class SiteMaster : MasterPage { public string StatusText { get; set; } public string StatusTime { get; set; } public string Environment { get; set; } protected virtual void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!this.IsPostBack) { if (Session["status"] != null) { this.StatusText = Session["status"].ToString(); this.StatusTime = Session["statusTime"].ToString(); } this.Environment = Session["environment"].ToString(); } } }
I have a Gridview on my aspx page that is filtered based on a series of fields. One of these fields is a drop down list 'Status' the options are; 'Read', 'Unread' and 'Both'.
The SQL Stored Procedure expects serveral parameters including a bit parameter for the field 'Read'. If the Drop Down list has Read or Unread in it my Stored Parameter works but if it has Both in I am not sure what to pass to the Stored Procedure to get it to give me all records or basically ignore the Read field.
In my asp.net+vb web I am using the below code to highlight the row...
If e.Row.DataItem("Auth") Is System.DBNull.Value <> True AndAlso e.Row.DataItem("Auth") > e.Row.DataItem("Held") Then e.Row.BackColor = Drawing.Color.LightCoral
I want now only to give colour to the cell in the field and not the entire row ....
I want to toggle a Textbox to be visible (true, false) contained within an InsertItemTemplate based on the data being Null/Empty.
It Works in the Item Template since it is calling the "select parameters", but once it is in the "insert parameters" on databinds, I am unable to get this to work.
I have a grid with 5 rows and 5 columns, All containing templetefield(Combobox)I am trying to set the background color of my grid cell(contain combobox) depending upon which item is selected. (again, dependent on item selection, so background color is not permanent). How can i achieve this?
