I have a Master/Slave GrisViews or some say Parent/Child GridViews.
i want to set my button visible=false in the child gridview if data is not exist.
i try this:
Protected Sub gv_child_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs)
If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "this.style.backgroundColor='#FFC080';")
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseout", "this.style.backgroundColor='';")
Dim lblitemid As Label = CType(e.Row.Cells(1).Controls(1), Label)
Dim lblphoto As Label = CType(e.Row.Cells(11).Controls(1), Label)
[Code]......
but it does not working. the button is still there.

I know that variations of this same question have been posed numerous times - but I can't quite seem to find the exact solution.
I would like any row in my gridview where the boolean field "Approved" is True to be shaded gray. Here is the code that I'm using, but every row ends up being gray, regardless of the value in that "Approved" field. My guess is that I'm not correctly evaluating the boolean value in this field (which is actually a yes/no field in MS Access), Not sure if I should be reading that value as "-1", "Yes" or "True" or "NotNull"? Anyway, here is the code:

why the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?

The label is shown in intellisense and was working earlier. My team mate had created a back up of the file and it stopped working after that.I deleted the back up files and tried but it doesn't seem to work.
The following is the code snippet of the front end as well as the code behind:

I have a Gridview with a templated column which contains just a label.
I set the Label1.text during GridView1.RowDataBound based on doing a DataBinder.Eval(e.Row.DataItem,"myColumn") and a calculation off that.
When the user clicks the header I want it to sort based on what's in the Label but instead if seems to be sorting on the contents it was bound to, "myColumn", even though that's not what appears in the grid.

I noticed these errors while building my project (Image#1), but wasn't able to fix them until I declared all of them in the Code behind file (Image #2).It worked fine & I cleared all the errors in al the pages in Visual Studio, BUT the code wouldn't work right on the webpage (Image #3).With this block of Web Controls commented out, I get 3782 errors as you can see below (Image #1). When these blocks are Uncommented, that number goes down to 3755 (Image #2) and eventually clears all error messages. Can anyone assist with this annoyance?

In a nested GridView (GridView inside a template column of parent GridView). I am binding child GridView to a DataTable in parent GridView's RowDataBound event. this works as it should. But the problem i am facing is in Child GridView's RowDataBound Event, when i try to access e.Row.DataItem property it returns null. I am expecting it to return DataRowView Type. which i will then use to set values of TextBox's.
