May 17, 2010I have a view which takes two objects: booking and list of reasons for canceling that booking.I have two classes: clsBooking, clsBookingCancelationReason I can read both objects in my view - no problems there. After I read the objects, I display the booking details and I generate a list of cancelation reasons in the following way:

I need to generate a link that will contain the bookingId and the selected reason for canceling the booking.I can get the bookingId out easily since it's stored in the Model...but how do I go about the selected ReasonId?

I have common controls (Edit,update,cancel)
In the form i have one button .
On click on the button one new row is created in the grid view
Now how do i fetch the data entered in the dropdown box and the textbox.
How to reload the updated data to the dropdownbox,textbox.
On edit(twice) click it is switching to Update and cancel mode
On Cancel(twice) click it is switching to Edit mode.

Dec 13, 2010I am dynamically loading user controls into my main page on button event.The user control has a textbox and a gridview When i enter data in textbox , the autopostback event fires and loads data into the gridview. when i load another instance of user control and do any post back the gridview data is not persisting.Until and unless I bind the data, gridview is not having any data after postback.This is creating issue when I al updating a row in gridview as data is not persisting after postback.

The Add template is located outside the grid view and if user clicks on the button, it will load the grid view that is populated with data as there is a row of empty fields at the bottom. Each row has an Edit Button. When the button is clicked I want an ID to be passed back to a funtion in my .cs file. How do I bind the rowID to the Button field?

I know how to do a simple grid view to show info, but with NO fancy stuff.
1) How can I click a row(not a field) and get the data for a specific field in a row ?
2) how can I put an image <img into a field of the grid view
3) How can I put a linkbutton in a field and have it run codebehind on a specific value in a field from that row.
4) I assume I can pass values to the row with visible = false, and use them in the above requests

I gonna post it again.I have a Detail view to control the detail of user, but i didn't bind it with any data source, the only i use is bind it with the sql command in vb.net code. I can open the Dv in edit mode but cannot update it with update button. I have read many post but some use data source or use store procedure. I can't use both.I do this because i wan to update multiple sql statement.

Now i need to display all these values in a detail view in a new web form page. Is it possible? How should i go about doing it or is there any other alternatives since i did not use the grid view for users to store their information.

Forms Data Controls :: Selecting A Row In An Datagrid And Passing A Value Related To Selected Row On Button Click?
Nov 5, 2010I have a datareader that returns a few fields (orderid, customer id, customername, location, total amount - as an example) that is bound to a datagrid on an asp page. The datagrid simply displays customername, location and total amount and has 2 buttons
below it labelled 'Add New' and 'Edit' and I would like the following to happen:
1) when a user clicks on any cell in the datagrid, I want that row to be highlighted in someway so that the user is aware of the highlighted row.
2) If the user then clicks on Edit button, I want to go to another page that displays the details of that order by passing the orderid of that row to the next page.
The idea is that the user selects a row on the datagrid and then clicks edit which will take them to another page where they can edit/updated details but I'm not sure how I can pass a value of a selected row in a datagrid to another page. I am aware that you can add a template column with buttons on but I would like to have one set of buttons rather than have buttons on each row of the datagrid.
