Jan 27, 2010I have gridview that contains a check box, messageId and firstName. The gridview is getting information from the database and showing them in the gridview and in a checkbox. The gridview shows the fields that are selected and that are not selected. I want to send an email to all people that the check box is selected.
I have already created the email system and it is working. What I don't to know is how to get the information from the gridview and place in the mail.To.Add(?); so I can send the information to all people into the database.

I know that its possible to create files such as Word docs and Excel spreadsheets an then stream them, but I don't know how to do it with ASP.NET.

Feb 25, 2010In Visual Studio 2008 I am using an asp.net 3.5 listview control as my frontend to an sql server 2005 database backend. I am also using a linq to sql datacontext to query and perform all my backend CRUD commands. Within the OnInserted event of my linqdatasource I am assigning a query string variable (customer_id) to populate a child page (code below). This works perfectly. However, what I would also like to achieve within this event is to build an email body containing other database column references, from my insert, that will send an email to all the email addresses contained within a seperate column from another one of my db tables. Any ideas on how I can achieve this? C# code examples will be appreciated.

Jan 28, 2010I would like to write a loop that sends an smtp message to a list of emails that I'm getting from a database.
I wrote a loop where I used message.to.add(recipient) first to add all the emails to the recipients collection.
However when the e-mail was received each recipient sees the entire list of recipients. How do I send to only
one recipient at a time, or prevent each recipient from seeing who all the other recipients are?

Aug 24, 2010I have set a job in sql server 2008 to send reminder emails for product expiration. Now I want a report which will specify the list of the emails sent with the email status details like queued ,sent,delivered, failed.
I can fetch the emails that are sent by querying the like following

The problem is only getting a perfect status of email whether it is delived or failed. How I can get those status ?

The thing is it works locally fine but when i upload to my shared server i receive the error above?

Now this report is not going to be displayed when the button is clicked, so it will be sent automatically by code which I have some part(see below). My questions are:
1. how can you generate or build a report without displaying it.

Sep 29, 2010I have a data entry and editing form and in every data entry or update event, I have to send an email to a dynamic list of recipients. I have been sending the email as soon as the user clicks the save or edit buttons but am thinking of first saving the data to the database, and then sending the email later. I want to do this partly to improve the response time of the application as the email sending tends to take a long time than desired.

Jan 17, 2011I'm building a website for a client on which they want site visitors to be able to fill out a form with the relevant information along with their credit card details, and when they submit the form, the information will be sent to the client in an email. This is an experimental services that they're offering so they're not interested in real time credit card processing yet. If I just zip the collected data up into a password protected zip file, and send that in an email to the client, would it be secure? Or do I have to go further than that to secure the data?
