Obviously I am using the tableDnD() function to do that, but after I swapped them, I am saving the datagrid in a DataTable as it is (altered). However this doesn't happen. I need the changes to be posted back to the server. I tried to __doPostBack() after the onDrop function with no luck.

I have an asp.net 2.0 web app and one of the pages uses a grid to add/edit items before exporting the contents to excel. The items in the grid are selected based on a dropdown list--after the item in the list is selected, the grid goes and gets the items, populates a dataset and binds the dataset to the gridview. Some of my users are experiencing an issue where after deleting a random number of rows, a row not deleted will disappear or reappear. Though I have witnessed the behavior, I cannot duplicate it on my machine where the developement occurs (Win XP Pro, IIS 5.1, vwd2005 express). The windows 2003 server uses ASP.Net 3.5

If I had to make a guess as to what was occuring, I would say that it appears at times to retain the deleted item's index after the grid is sent back to the user and tries to delete another row. But like I said, I can't duplicate the problem on my dev machine. if this might be caused by .Net 3.5 trying to run a 2.0 site?
I put in my page 1 table like grid with this style:

So I have a dropdownlist and I'm trying to populate it with values in the database. For some reason, half of the rows has no value. It's happenning in a sequence as well, like the first row has no value, then the second row has value, then the third hasno value....
Does any one know why it does this?
I have a dataGrid with ButtonColumns in my asp page and I would like to do the following to:
When a row is clicked, I want to be able to:
1 - Hide all rows and display only the clicked row dynamically/on the fly.
trying to loop thru the datagrid and display only the Row index passed by the OnITemComman - but unsure of how to do it.
2 - Extract the row values (all cells in the row) to use as parameters in a query.
Used many ways of many examples but i always get a blank value. Managed to get the button text in the class but i need the full row values not just the cell clicked.
I am using C# and VS 2008.
I have a nested Datagrid, Datagrid1 and Datagrid2 with access database, Where Date1 is PKey in Datagrid1 and corresponding to it entries are filled in Datagrid2 also.
It should be like:
1. Gridview2 Should not show any button/link like Edit.
2. Should hide the columns to insert new data, i.e No add button also and GridView2 add row should not be visible of Gridview2.
In all, Gridview2 should only show the data that is already inserted and user should not be able to make any changes in it and can only view it.

I'm trying to create a web page using Visual C#.NET 2010 on a 3.5 framework that allows users to select items through a series of dropboxes which are then saved to a temporary display grid. The problem I'm having is that I wish to allow users to save multiple combinations of selections which are saved to various rows of the display table.

The problem I'm having is whenever I try to edit the selected column all other columns are cleared. I need to have them remain while only the selected row is altered.
I'm needing to get the selected rows, based on checkboxes, to insert into a different table than that that the gridview is formed from. I've created an innerjoin datasource to try and solve this but, still having problems finding something that works. I also need it to insert based upon a button click not inside the gridview as I believe otherwise would only hamper the situation more.
View 7 RepliesI have a DataGrid that has a dropdown list in an ItemTemplate. Basically, users select a value from the dropdown for each row of the datagrid. When the page is posted back, the selected index of the dropdown list is always reset to 0, and the items are re-bound.
Does anyone know why this might happend? The dropdown items are hardcoded, so there is no external data binding that happens on post back.
I have a web application that takes information entered by the user and displays it in a few datagrids, that are located withing a multiview.
In order to enter a row to a datagrid the user enters some information and clicking on a button calls a function that adds the data to an arraylist, which is the source of the datagrid. In addition, every postback the data is binded to the datagrid.
It all works fine in the first time, but from the second row and on it enters only parts of the data and ignores the rest.
I have a DataGrid bound to an ObjectDataSource, as you know once the DataSourceID on DataGrid is set, data binding happen automatically without any coding. But due to requests from end users, I need to prevent the data binding when the page is loaded the first time, i.e. data binding should only happen during PostBack. How do I do that?
View 3 RepliesWhat I am looking to do is have a page with 2 seperate datagrids on, I want to be able to add the selected rows from DataGrid1 into DataGrid 2 either with a button click or using drag and drop functionality (Im guessing this would require javascript and I have no experience with this language, is it difficult to learn or could I just alter code from elsewhere?). Once the row is added into DataGrid2 I would like to be able to add some information, such as Quantity and DateDue (could this be added in a pop up box when the part is added?) Also I would like fields in DataGrid1 to be based upon a search with several different options that the user specifies, i.e the ability to search based on project number, however it would return eitheer parts or assemblies depending on a check box selected. I have very limited programming knowledge but Im guessing I would be able produce a query based on the inputs, but in order for this to work wouldnt the page to postback everytime an option was changed.

If i click on the dropDownlist Contained by the row, this algo launch a postback, so I can never see this DropDownList deployed.I need a Way to stop this postback. Is teher a solution for this?
I have a GridView and can swap the datasource just fine with code. However, The GridView also has a TemplateField with a dropdown connected to a different datasource. How can I swap that one with code too? I don't see how to drill down to find it. I've found stuff on line about accessing the TemplateFields with code, but it seemed to complex for the simple task I am trying to do.
View 3 RepliesI have a page in which i need to show data in the form of a grid. Each row in the grid is made up of 2 sub-rows, the first sub-row consists of a dropdown, a textbox & a textarea. Whatever is entered in these controls should be displayed in the second sub-row in the form of labels at runtime (i.e. using javascripts)
There can be multiple rows like this. The grid would have a max of 30 row, not more than that. create this which one would be better, in terms of performance & complexity, a GridView or a DataRepeater?

I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.
I am adding gridview data into data base every thing is fine but problem is that when there are no row then it give the message Data scessfully saved but I want it give me message when data entered into data base. When there are no data into data base it give me message there are no row in grid view .
