I can't catch what error is causing my web app to go to the user's error page when I use Profile.Save. I use the following code and nothing is caught:

The user is geeting following error while uploading a file to the asp.net page. But when I try to upload the same file, I don't get this error. Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem? Also is there a way to capture exact error? I tried to have custom error page.

What can be the reason for this error and what to check on the code or the server?

I have created the form and all looks good but I get the following error message when I try to insert a record

I thought ViewState was supposed to resolve the issue. I have viewstate enabled on the page and the formview but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

I have a Gridview that I am using in a User Control. The grid loads great and my paging buttons that exist outside of the grid itself work properly. When I click my delete button inside the grid, I am getting an invalid postback message. How should I handle this? My control raises one event by the way.

I am using forms authentication and authorization through roleManager. I have two Roles - "Customers" and "Employees". The redirection to the default page for the "Customers" role is working fine, but I get an oledb error stating that one or more parameters are not being passed when I redirect a user from the "Employees" role. I have set executionTimeout in web.config to 3600 (which I found out that the scripttimeout will follow this value), and in the production server, I have set debug=false, session time out = 20 min. sql command time out = 1200 seconds
However, when the application is performing heavy sql task that exceed 90seconds, I got the 'Page Could Not be Displayed' error.
When I change debug=true, the application works fine. The application also works fine when I turn off the 'Show HTTP friendly message'.
I'm trying to throw the exception back to Page_Load but the throw statement causes error: ArgumentNullException was unhandled by user code. How can that be fixed? Also, I can't see Label1.Text displayed on the page after the ArgumentNullException occurs because the page is not re-load. If there is no exception, it's fine to not reload the page. How can I see the Label1.Text displayed?

Should work because it's at the end of the _CreatedUser event, but the UserName comes up Nothing. Anyone know what the problem might be? I know the user is being created because the "success" message is displayed and it writes to the database.

I have a Web User Control that is sitting in a Tabcontainer on a web page. The user control is on tab 1 and has a listview control in it. In the listview control I have a textbox called txtWorkOrderID. In tab 2 I have a gridview with a button in one of the columns. When the button is clicked I want to grab the ID from the row I'm on and fill the txtWorkOrderID with it on tab 1. I've got things to work as far as grabing the ID and switching back to tab 1, but I keep getting a null reference when I try to put the value into the txtWorkOrderID which tells me its not finding the control. Being A C++ programmer this is fairly new to me - I am working on a formview and have been facing a problem- The issue is simple - I want to display a success page after I insert a row successfully and a custom error page if the insertion fails (due to datatype or format mismatch with table in database).
To achieve this I am doing as follows -
1. Defining a custom error page in ASP.NET configuration tool (webconfig)

The string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. There is a unknown word starting at index 0.
question - Why my default page is not getting displayed? Is it because I am testing from same development machine or is it because the error page doesnt work for "Server Error" pages?
2. In the "iteminserted" event I am redirecting it to Response.Redirect("~/newitemconfirm.aspx")

i have an asp.net project in vs2010 i have a db and table inside the app_data folder, i have created a deployment package and have imported the package into an iis server that is installed on my local mechine.
