i have 500 records to show in webpage. i am using DataList in that webpage. if i use direct binding it is slowing down the performance of the page and is taking time to load. now i have used update panel and i want to append data records by records(i want to append as first 50records and then next 50 records something like)
i have a question regarding grid view. i have done almost all work i needed. but one thing i want to do is i have set 4 of page size of grid. so when i show records on the web page i want to set a iframe after first two records then iframe and then two more records like i have shown in the example image. i have used LINQ with C#.how to do it. if you people want i can show you my code.
im tryin to create repeater from code behaind using C#. The data bind is working good, im tryin to put some pager. the pager is half working. i can see the pager links at the bottom, i can see the the code split the records to 10 lines each page as i set it but when i click the next link the records stay the same it wont changing for the next 10 records. my code
I have an Access 2010 DB that I have a table of RAW data in. In my scenero when table 'a' has been populated all the rows with the updatedate of Now() get moved to another table... the SQL is like this...
[Code]....
As you can see it is a very simple query but it does NOT return any rows. There are actually 404 rows with todays date in teh Append_Date column.
The website is over half way done and the functionality for the blog is (except for adding posts) is already implemented and working correctlyI have a SQLExpress 2008 backendBlog posts are rendered on the page with full HTML markup within a label control.
All of the above is done and working. Though I am essentially new to creating websites with ASP.NET, CSS and SQL, I am sure that I could simply carry on and make a login page with some controls that would allow me to add records (blog posts) directly to the database on the host server. However, I am fearful of doing this because I know that malicious code can be passed in this way. Also, because of my lack of knowledge, the only way that I know of to pass the code from a control to the database is to disable validation for the page the control is on. Without a doubt I do not want to do that.
So what are my options for getting blog posts into the database? Is it safest for me to fully create the post in html and update a copy of the database that resides on my local machine? If I do it this way, how can I merge the records from the database on the local machine with the records on the remote server?
I have a datagrid control which is bound to a table which containing more than 1000 records. And i want to show only 25 records once a time. I have used paging in datagrid. But each time the next page index is set, query is fired again. This takes lots of time. So what is the easiest way to bound data in this case to improve performance.
im using checkboxes in gridview and trying to delete (one or more )records from db Everything is ok and no runtime errors.. getting the message "records deleted " but when i check the db i reilaize that record still exist.
i am populating a grid view from one table, if any changes made in the particular table the particular modified cell should be highlighted... how can i do this.. ?
I have a gridview that shows all data from a table. DataNames includes KeyId, which is a Primary Key.Yet when I try to delete a record, nothing happens, the page appears to performa refresh but the record is still there.Edit does not work either. I used the wizard to build all of the queries, they look okay. But I cannot figure out why they are not working.
m using gridview to display records from sql server2005. In gridview, I have a field containing checkboxes. Now what i want that the fields against which a user checked in checkboxes that will be deleted by clicking on delete button just like the emails yahoo, gmail etc How can i do so?
I have a question about datalist control. See I only need to display 12 records when the users are viewing in a small preview setting. How can I achieve that? I know I can get TOP 12 from the sql query, but is there a way I can modify in the datalist control itself? DataTable dt = new DataTable();
currently I am doing a web application project using 3-tier formating to do out the project. In the grid view is displayed with data retrieved from the database and at the footer there is a row of empty fields for the user to insert records into database and when user clicks on Add New, a new row of empty fields will be populated below.
The database.cs and stored procedure is used to stored the data into the database.

This is the stored procedure code:

I am not sure of how to code out for the business logic?
I code this in business logic but its wrong as the error states the Insert method could not be found:
I have a DetailsView control that accepts two different fields to be populated. I need one of them to be masked so that whilst something can be entered, no-one can see what is actually being keyed?
I have a listview that I automatically generated from a database table, enabling editing and inserting on the listview and the EntityDataSource that runs it.
I started customizing the listview templates so that I didn't have to see some of the fields (they're unnecessary from the standpoint of the form), and have alternately tried removing or hiding the unwanted fields. This pretty much patently results in me not being able to insert new records, although updating seems to work just fine. There are no error messages.
I then tried using InsertParameters in the datasource, but that didn't really help either.
In the codebehind I have an onInserting handler that should fill in some of the hidden/removed fields before the record goes to the database.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, and even my colleagues are kind of stumped. Why can't I insert records into this table/listview?
Here's the next instalment of my asp.net data access nightmare!
I've got a listview on my page, and when I run the page it correctly displays the data that it should. However, when I add data into the empty new record and hit the 'Insert' button the page posts back but the record isn't inserted. Annoyingly, I don't get any error!
The listview's datasource has an INSERT command and insert parameters specified. The button seems to be triggering the listview's insert method because the ItemInserting event fires.
With no error message to go on I'm struggling to figure out what the problem is. I have a feeling it's something to do with the makeup of the page. The listview in question is nested within an Accordion control and the listview's data source isn't set until runtime, when it's done in the ItemDataBound event of the Accordion control. As I say, though, it does RETRIEVE data correctly, it's just the inserting that's a problem.
I created a new, blank page with just this listview on it using the same code but not nesting it within any other control and hardcoding the datasource instead of setting it at runtime and that works perfectly, so I'm confident that my INSERT command, insert parameters and so forth are correct.
I've tried to get my listview to break, deliberately leaving out insert parameters and so forth just so it'll give me an error message but it never does! It's as if the insert isn't taking place at all, except that because the ItemInserting even takes place I'm assuming that it is.
I want to create 2 columns and 5 rows and want to give heading to those 2 columns and would like to manually enter the values in the rows, how ? (I don't want to connect this gridview with the database)
