I have a datagrid called studentAddList which is combined by 2 tables. Now I have a reportviewer called ReportViewer1. They are both placed on the same page. Now I would like to bind the datagrid studentAddList to the reportviewer ReportViewer1. The reason why I bind the datagrid to it is because I have some filtration on the data.

When I check off create columns automatically at runtime the DataGrid is populated with the correct values from the arraylist, however I'm not sure how to reference them. I'm trying to make it so that a user can click on a link after any VIN number and have that referenced and deleted from the arraylist. bind this ArrayList to the DataGrid and then be able to reference them.

I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.

i am using asp.net 2.00(visual studio 2005 std edition) i have designed a report in reportviewer which runs fine on localhost server but when deployed on server it shows no data from other computers , after searching net i found that dynamic binding of dataset and reportviewer is required , so i entered following codes (dtgraph is data table name and graph.axd is data set name ) the code gives error that dtgraph is not declared , where i should declare it / any solution

I know that a ReportDataSource can be a type that implements IEnumerable but I cannot figure out what field name should be used in the rdlc file? Suppose I bind the datasource at runtme (something like ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources(Add new ReportDataSource("dsname", new List<string> { "John Smith", "Jane Smith" }))
can I still define my report definition file at design time, and bind a text box control to something like Fields[0] or the like? And on a different note, I also defined a static method without parameters that returns a generic list of some type; Yet if a go to Report - Data Sources menu option, I cannot see the method in the list of Project Data Sources.

but after this, the Datagrid still doesn't display the data from the collection.
I end up with a row for each object in the list, and any cell in a given row is bound to a property of the corresponding object.
However, suppose one of the properties of my object is a dictionary, and each is expected to contain a specific key. Is there any way to bind one of my DataGridColumns to that dictionary key?
I have some javascript to iterate the divs in my web page. There is also a ReportViewer control. If I look at the HTML in FireBug in FireFox I can drill down to a div with an id of "oReportDiv". However, my javascript does not pick this up and if I view Source I cannot find it there either. It is the same story in Internet Explorer - I can find the div in the developer tools but not in the source.
The div is buried in nested iFrames and Framesets and all sorts of nasty looking stuff.
I would be more than happy if someone with creating a dataset programmatically then connect it to my reportviewer programmatically. If you have vb.net examples
View 3 RepliesI know how to pass parameters to Reportviewer in LocalReport mode via textboxes on the page where the user enters them and then they click refresh and everything works fine. What I cannot figure out is how to not pass parameters and make the report display everything, which should be the default.
I know I am missing something really obvious on the Report Parameters screen. Does anybody know the secret?
I have a ReportViewer control on my aspx page that displays a report defined in an rdlc file. The rdlc has a textbox for displaying the number of rows on the report (using the =Count function).
I am looking for a way to retrieve the value of this textbox in my code-behind.
