I have two pages: The Source page with a query function SearchUser (Linq) and the Target page with Gridview.
now I need to to pass the data that retrieve from the SearchUser function to the GridView of the Target page by "Object Data Source".
(I've tried to click on gridview->Configure Data Source-> Object-> and then I can't see the Source page where the function is in).
How to bind a GridView Column to a public method in a Page. I have done this before but forgot the syntax. Basically the DataSource has a column named "EndDate" and based on value of the enddate i want show some text in column.

a)I have made the user control but I dont know how to return the results and bind them with gridview on my calling page.
b) Update: If I create the update button outside the user control and on my calling page and then on its button click event Isomehow access user control checkbox list selected items would that be a good approach ? And how to do this stuff ?

How to read this file and bind data to gridview control.
Right now i am using the following code but it stores whole data in a single column and a single row but i need it in four columns named NC, WC, PRC,ETAC and it's values in respected columns.

I have two tables
Employee Table : ( EmployeeID,EmployeeName,... Etc )
Bonus Table : ( BonusID,EmployeeID,BonusDate,Bonus Reason,... Etc )
I wanted to list the bonuses in a gridview, so i made a query to return list of bonus records and my data access object returns the result set as Bonus business object ( generic collections of bonus BO ). i have bind my gridview with the bonus collection.
now my problem is that collection has the property "EmployeeID" and it will be displayed but instead of showing EmployeeID, i wanted to show Employee Name in that grid. I have a gridview where i want to list the bonus records ( bonus ID, bonus date, bonus description, employee ID) ,

I have a dropdownlist inside row which selected when i click link button Select in the gridview edit template, as of my business logic i need to show the dropdownlist only when the user clicks Edit button and when the user clicks Select button . That mean when the user clicks Select button then they clicks Edit button on the gridvview i should allow him to edit the dropdownlist (showing the value to the user through a label).
