I got a datapager control with four buttons First, Previous, Next, and Last. The datapager control is set up so it returns ten records. When I open the web app with the browser it returns ten records and the datapager controls buttons; however when I click

I have a Listview with a Datapager. The Data pager is inside the listview LayOutTemplate, and works fine when there are records to page.
Now the problem is that the Datapager shows even when there are no records to show. (the navigation is disabled).
it shows something like Page
0 of
0 (
0 records).
For example, in my sample application, I have set the Pager size to 10, but I have ZERO records. Idealy, I only want it to be visible
if the number of records exceeds the pager size. How do I do this?

So I followed Scot Mitchell's tutorial from asp.net/learn on adding a checkbox column to be able to select multiple entries and delete them with the click of a button. When I make my selection and click the button it works on the database end, as the desired entries are deleted. However, the entries remain on the page after it reloads. if I refresh the page it's updated properly but I'd like it to automatically update after the button is clicked.
Also, I tried his method for adding check/uncheck all buttons to the top of the gridview and they don't seem to be working either.

I have a listview which is served by a database via a dataview. Attached to this I have a datapager. Now, I also have a filter for my listview, which loops through the items and marks them as visible or not visible. The problem I have is, the datapager doesn't seem to take into consideration that some items are not visible. So, I end up with page with no visible items on there, as the datapager thinks they still exist (which they essentially do).
I tried using, instead of visible = false, listview.deleteitem(index), but they don't seem to be removed. I can only assume that this is because the listview is rebinding when deleting the item which is essentially readding the items. Using the delete method I did have to add a handler for the deleting function, in which there is no code:

I have a button and a few filter fields (dropdownlists, text fields etc.) and I'd like the ListView to display records once the user clicks on the button. I am using the ObjectDataSource control with a Listview. I am setting the TypeName and SelectMethod values in the Page_Load when page is postback-ing so that the ListView does not populate on Page Load. On the ObjectDataSource_Selecting method, I'm setting the filter fields' value's in a class object and at the end I'm setting the InputParameter as that object, something like this

I have Web page that uses LinkButton control inside Template Fields of Gridview.I am trying to work on LinkButton Click event and trying to preserve the Value of LinkButton that user click, and based on that value, i want to refresh tha page data.
I used CommandName and CommandArgument property of Linkbutton, but i can use that property only in GridView_RowCommand method by checking e.CommandName expression. But the problem with that Gridview_RowCommand event fire after all other page_load activity. So the value never used in the page_load event to refresh the data in all other control.I also tried to use OnClick Method, Session variable and Hidden variable. but when i run Response.Redirect method from Gridview_RowCommand, it clear all the Session and Hidden variable values. also tried (Response.Redirect(,false)) method but never got success.

i have a listview to show some data and with it i have a datapager the datapager is used for allowing change pages between products but i have and hyperlink above product image that allow to see the specific product details but the datapager wehn a used clicks to see product details should not be visible because there is no more pages , its a specific product but the datapager should be visible in the other scenario how can i do that?

I have a detailsview control, which I use to enter data and save to the database. I am using object datasource to connect to the db. The detailsview control has autogenerateinsert = "true". When the insert is successfull, I want to set some variables and and to redirect the page to a different one. I don't know how to access the insert button click event of the detailsview to do it. If there is different solution like using <insertItemTemplate> and using custom linkbuttons.

The control works perfectly when the QueryStringField "PageID" not not encrypted. When it's encrypted the control no longer works. Is there a way to assign the page number in the back end? Is there a way to work with encrypted query string with this control?

all i am using Datapager control with ListView control in my application.where i bind my list view in page_prerender event. my problem is that Datapager control is showing the page records but when i click on the next page ( i.e. if i am on page 1 then clicked on page 2) it will not responding.
i am using my list view in update panel.is the problem with the update panel?
previously when i binded my Listview on pageload it work's fine.

I have a page where I use the ListView and DataPager.My listview is populated as a table where each row has a bit data a dropdownlist with some values and a link button. Now I am trying to pick out the selected value from dropdown list when I kick on my linkbutton. As long as I'm on page one, everything is woriking fine. But if I go to page three then I can not pick out the value I selected in the dropdownlist. I have tried to add a textbox in the listview and then I am able to get the value out I typed into the textbox independent which side I'm on.
Why can I pick out the value from textbox but not the selected value in dropownlist?

is there a way to set datapager controlid to control in other page.
For example: we have 2 pages - page1 with datapager1 and page2 with listview and datapager2. If i put datapager2 in page2 and set pagecontrollid to listview everything is ok. i wonder is there a way to set programatically the same in page1 so we could get te pagecount for other page.
Web Forum is a perfect example - we have posts count, when we click on datapager in topics list, it redirects us on selected page with posts for selected topic (i assume its on other page).
