I am trying to delete multiple rows using a checkbox in a Gridview. When someone checks the checkbox and then click on button Delete that the rows is chosen will be deleting.
GUI:

when i click on button Delete : Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index
I have a gridview on a web form and it is working, but the users find it too slow for data entry with them having to click on the edit and update buttons. I would like to allow them to edit all the rows and then when the form's overall save button is pressed then I save the changes. I found this: [URL] which does something similar, but I don't want to use the check box to indicate which row is being edited.
I've got close based on that code, but one of the controls in the column needs to control how the rest of the columns are displayed and I can't work out how to refer to the other columns and control on the current row from some code that is called by the OnTextChanged associated with a control.
I am developing an application in C# and Sql Server.

I have a grid contol that allows delete what I would like to have is someway to say Are you sure you want to delete?I found this code online, and tried it but it did not work, Do I need something more some behind code maybe?Here is what I found online:Adding 'Delete Protection' to controls If you use a control set up to allow Delete, the Delete button gives a straight delete without any warning, which can be dangerous.To give a warning dialog box, add an OnClientClick event to the Delete button, as follows.
<asp:LinkButton
ID="DeleteButton"
runat="server" CausesValidation="False"
CommandName="Delete"
OnClientClick="return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this record?');"
Text="Delete">
</asp:LinkButton>
Here is my code: You can see where I added the code from above.
<ItemTemplate>
ID:<asp:label id="IDLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("ID") %>' /><br />
Name:<asp:label id="NameLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Name") %>' /><br />
Destination:<asp:label id="DestinationLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Destination") %>' /><br />
OutDate:<asp:label id="OutDateLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("OutDate") %>' /><br />
ReturnDate:<asp:label id="ReturnDateLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("ReturnDate") %>' /><br />
LeaveTime:<asp:label id="LeaveTimeLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("LeaveTime") %>' /><br />
ReturnTime:<asp:label id="ReturnTimeLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("ReturnTime") %>' /><br />
ContactNumber:<asp:label id="ContactNumberLabel" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("ContactNumber") %>' />
<asp:linkbutton id="EditButton" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="Edit" Text="Edit" />
<asp:linkbutton id="DeleteButton" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="Delete" OnClientClick="return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this record?');" Text="Delete" />
<asp:linkbutton id="NewButton" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="New" Text="New" />
</ItemTemplate>
I have been handling everything in code which is not working consistently same in all scenarios.

I am trying to delete row(s) from the DataTable conditionally but I cant.
Actually I have DataList with CheckBox (default value checked=false). I am bindind DataList at run time using DataView (Dataview is created fromDataTable).
I also have <asp:Button ID="btnDelete" ....> which I am using to delete checked items in the DataList (But this functionality is not working).
The user first "checked" items in the DataList and click the the button "btnDelete". Here nothing is being deleted (?) and the DataList appears with all the items"unchecked" (even those which the the "checked" by the user). protected void btnDelete_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) . In this function I am checking state of the checkbox before deleting the row in the DataTable.
On PostBack generated by the "btnDelete", DataList appears with checkboxes unchecked therefore nothing is being deleted
Here is the DataList

I have a database table that stores a list of friends. The table can store many friends and there can be duplicates, for example - John is James' and davids' friend. John will be in the table twice but will be linked to the others via another data-member. What i dont want is james to be down as johns friend twice in the table. I'm doing a small social network and this is possible by james accepting john as his friend twice. Is there anything to check if there are 2 columns identical?
View 3 RepliesI have a page in which i need to show data in the form of a grid. Each row in the grid is made up of 2 sub-rows, the first sub-row consists of a dropdown, a textbox & a textarea. Whatever is entered in these controls should be displayed in the second sub-row in the form of labels at runtime (i.e. using javascripts)
There can be multiple rows like this. The grid would have a max of 30 row, not more than that. create this which one would be better, in terms of performance & complexity, a GridView or a DataRepeater?
I have following gridview and am filling values through c #.

Is it possible to use a usercontrol as the delete button on the gridview?I have got the following line of code going ok for the top line of the grid, but for the 2nd onwards, it tells me i cant have a 'Duplicate Component Name'

I have a grid in which multiple delete is to be implemented but before deletion it should show confrmation box which will ask to delete or not.
But this confirmation bo must be an ajax modal popup extender confirmation box not javascript.
My code for multiple delete:
protected void annDelete_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
foreach (GridViewRow row in GridView1.Rows) {
CheckBox cb = (CheckBox)row.FindControl("chk_delete");
if (cb.Checked && cb != null) {
{
modalconfirmbox.show();
int ID_No = Convert.ToInt32(GridView1.DataKeys[row.RowIndex].Value);
//code to delete where id =ID_No and bindgrid
} }
} }
This delete code is working and confirmation is appering. but you click yes or no or click none in modalconfirm rows will be deleted.
I found code [URL] that allows multiple-row inserts, and tried to convert it to vb.net. I can't get the blank grid with 5 rows to show up -- for some reason the datasource won't bind.

How do you select value from a gridview? I would like to pass values of rows selected to a query with the code below, but the grid seems to be frozen and I can't find a property for the grid that allows me to select rows.
Protected Sub GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles GridView1.SelectedIndexChanged
Dim DB As New AOP29DBDataContext
If GridView1.SelectedValue = "Receiver" Then
Dim Query = From p In DB.Receivers
Select p
GridView2.DataSource = Query
GridView2.DataBind()
End If
If GridView1.SelectedValue = "Donor" Then
Dim Query = From p In DB.Donors
Select p
GridView2.DataSource = Query
GridView2.DataBind()
End If
