Mar 1, 2010My application has GRID VIEW control, which displays, Folder Name and Folder Path. While rendering in the webpage, i want to display only the Folder Name. For this, i set the visible property to false. Now iam able to display only Folder Name column.
Now the problem is, though iam hiding the Folder path column, i want to retrieve, the Folder path, when user clicks on submit button. Iam getting empty value for the hidden column.

Dec 8, 2010I have an gridview consisting pager Templet. In pager templet, add first, previous,next and last Buttons to control records. PageSize is 3. First I am binding first 3 records from the list (Consisting 9 records) to the GridView.
My question is:
<1> Is it possible to bind the next 3 records(record4, record5,record6) to GridView when click on next Button?

Oct 7, 2010I have a gridview on a web form and it is working, but the users find it too slow for data entry with them having to click on the edit and update buttons. I would like to allow them to edit all the rows and then when the form's overall save button is pressed then I save the changes. I found this: [URL] which does something similar, but I don't want to use the check box to indicate which row is being edited.
I've got close based on that code, but one of the controls in the column needs to control how the rest of the columns are displayed and I can't work out how to refer to the other columns and control on the current row from some code that is called by the OnTextChanged associated with a control.

Sep 22, 2010I have a grid view that needs to be shown group wise. The grouping of the data should be dynamic and that is based on the column that is selected.
In general it should list all the rows and based on the coloumn header selected, all the rows should group by that column and should be listed under it. That also needs the template column for the check box and while group by there should be a check all option available for each group.
Even having the collapse and expand option for each groups is required.
I currently use VS 2005 and later will use 2008 and 2010, but will use the aspx code and not xaml.

Mar 23, 2010Im struggling with a way to bind multiple rows of sql data to specific controls, what im trying to acheive is having a list of questions / answers in my SQL db and loading them into my web form to build a questionaire.
The data i load into the form depends on criteria like which questionaire is it (there will be 2 seperate ones) and what language should it be loaded in, this will be controlled using drop down lists and passing these parameters to the SQL select statement.
The problem i have is i am unsure which method to pull the data out of the question column in my table, and bind it to seperate controls row by row, should i use a SQLDataReader or load the data into a dataset, or run a stored procedure to pull the data?
Which is the best way to get data from sql and bind it to controls in this situation?
For example:
label1.text = sqlcolumn1.row1.value;
label2.text = sqlcolum1.row2.value;
Etc...

Aug 24, 2010It happened to add an extra Gridveiw Header in row_databound event , It did worked fine on !Postback but disappered on Page.Postback . Quick google search guided me to move the event to Row_Created event and every thing is okay .
Can any expert post some pointers , differnces between grid row_created vs row_databount with some sample table data created dynamically behaviour of both the events in !Postback and page.Postback .
