inserted a data grid view control with paging.What I don't like is when the user hovers the numbers for the paging, the autoformat is classic, when the user hovers, there is a white box and the number dissapears because the box and the number have the same color,
I have an accordian control with a set number of panes. Each pane has a table created with the code:

I would like to display information about the room occupants when the user hovers over the label. Is the HME the right tool for this? If so, how do I add it?
I want to create user control for gridview paging, so it may be reusable for every grid in my application, my user control should be like below, how its possible
eg: previous 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 More If i clicks more link next 10 pages of records should be visible, how its process?
The web page I am trying to (slowly) build should allow users to add whichever user controls they want on their page, and order them whichever way they like. This is saved in a database.
So each user could have a different number of controls on the page.
This is the design code, at the minute the user controls are fixed and are not loaded dynamically. They user controls are stored in 'blocks' which look like widgets on the page and can be dragged about to different columns. For each user the layout is stored in the DB i.e. which blocks are in column 1 and which blocks in column 2 etc.
How could I change this so that it can create a 'block' div for each user control returned from the database and put the user control in that block and in the right column?
Is there a way to use the GridView paging and having the links not use JavaScript. So that when you click on the page number 5 (for example) that link is a hyperlink.
So I have a repeater which binds page numbers. That's all fine. I need to know how to make the paging so that they are in "chunks" of a max of 10 page numbers being displayed at a time.Then if they select a page number, it will show the previous x pages and the next y pages (within the 10 chunk range). similar to google paging I guess. Not using pagedDataSource/gridview/gridlist! This is just purely getting the page numbers.
I'd like to implement a custom paging template for my formview that displays numeric paging as well as next/previous buttons. The pre-defined templates only appear to have numeric first last as an option. Can anyone recommend a good article that covers this?
I have a gridview that calculate net balance by taking deposit - withdraw. So when the withdraw is more than the deposit, it will result in a negative value, how do I detect that and replace the minus sign with bracket?
I am trying to translate a chart from a classic asp componant to a 3.5 chart control. I have two problems so far:
1) (hopefully easy) For the XAxis and YAxis titles (not labels), how do you make these titles bold?
2) (seems impossible with .net) How can I break up the background color so that certain parts of the background are different colors? In the legacy control, the original programmer could drill down control to the y-axis lines for coloring the background.
Example in a Y-axis with lines from 0-100 with 10 intervals:
a) 0-50: the background color would be BLUE b) 50-80: the background would be GRAY c) 80-100: the backgound color would be RED
As far as I can see, with the .net chart control, you can only have a single color or a single gradient of two colors, but not striped as I am trying to describe above. It seems that if an old classic asp componant has this striping functionality, the .net control has got to have it somehow.
I've used <%# Container.ItemIndex + 1 %> to successfully add line/row numbers inside of a repeater control starting with 1, but I've run into a challenge where I need the line numbers to begin at row 50.
I have Gridview populated with few rows , sometimes in few pages set suppose 12 rows in 3 pages as page size is set to 5 per page. I want the footer to display something like this
while displayin page 1 : displaying page 1 of 3 - items shown 0 to 5 of 12 while displayin page 2 : displaying page 2 of 3 - items shown 6 to 10 of 12 while displayin page 3 : displaying page 3 of 3 - items shown 11 to 12 of 12
I've a form where I'd like to impede the user from entering any alphabits or special characters. The user can only enter numbers between 0 & 3( both inclusive) no more no less.
How can i achieve this ? I've used RangeValidator. Would this alone be suffice or do we also need to use Expression Validator ?
I have a gridview that I loop through to get the x and y values of the chart control, and upon the first execution of this code, it looks great. But when the page posts back and it "refreshes" data, the original points on the chart control are still there, as well as the new values.
Is there any way to "delete" all data in the chart control to ensure this doesn't happen?
I have a gridview control sitting in a jQuery Accordian. The data in the grid diplays fine, however in IE 6 the page numbers do not display when the pane of the accordian is first opened. If you open another pane and then re-open the pane containing the grid view the number appear. There is also no issue with IE7 or later or FF.
I'm not sure where went wrong, from the beginning, my gridview didn't reflect what I choose in AutoFormat style. I tried to set one of the styles and Apply and OK, the grid rows seems to reflect but header row color remains the same. My gridview has pre-defined columns and I bind it to datatable at code behind. And it is placed inside div tag which is inside a table tag. And this page is a child page inside a master page.
There is currently ready-to-use Gridview's Autoformat Scheme like Colorfulclassic,simple, professional,slate. etc. So is it possible if I wantto add my own Scheme ?
I've searched but does Visual Studio 2008 have a setting for C# where it will autoformat/beautify my code as I write it? There is a setting for VB.NET called "prettify". I've also searched the archives already and found a macro to execute this on save and I know I can drag and drop it onto the toolbar but I want it to work without my doing ANYTHING for both ASPX and CS files.
Is this possible via built-in setting, modification, or available from an add on?
If i use DataAnnotations on my Model and my model have something like this:

and in my View, i have a textbox WITHOUT client side validation. If the user enter non-numbers caracters in this field, i would like to validate on the server side that the user have entered non-authorized caracters and message him back on that. But since that my Model's Days property is a INT, the ModelBinder can't parse the string in the int property and generate an error in the ModelState with no message at all. And if the user doesnt enter anything on this field, the ModelBinder also try to put an empty string in a int property and generate an error in the ModelState with the message "a value is required". This is not the message that is written within the DataAnnotation. I have no control on the message that is generated.
So my question is:how can i valide the users input for int properties (or DateTime, etc...) and if the user enter a bad value i can put in the ValidationSummary something like this: "You can't only enter a numeric value for Days".
I would like to to make a UI with a panel of numbers, and when hovered above one of them ten the number becomes larger. something like that:

I want that when I press a numbers it shows it's value in some other textbox. In which .NET technology is it possible to do it? Windows Forms? WPF? other?
I currently designed a school result portal. If the students want to view their result, they input their student school number in a text box to search out their result. But this is not secured because anybody can look up any students result if you have the number which is even written on their school uniform for identification.
I have being trying to secure this result by trying to generate or code special numbers that the students will input with their school number. The special numbers will be random numbers and may be from 10 and above, it might even contain letters. How do I code this. I believe this is the best asp.net forum. I want the students to be inputing this special unique numbers and their student numbers so that there result will be avaliable to them.
